21DogParticipant
QB discussion generates a lot of heat.
But anyway, yesterday I was calling for Hill.
I thought Davis should have been pulled after the second INT.
The defense was playing too well to let inept QB play cost them the game.
21DogParticipantIt wasn’t just the INTs, it was the missed opportunities.
Britt was wide open (possibly for a TD) on the second INT and on the 3rd and short play in the 4th quarter he missed a wide open Kendricks when he got flustered in the face of a pass rush.
Two excellent chances for TDs blown right there.
Rams won despite the QB play yesterday.
21DogParticipantMamaRAMa
. That was the Rams’ first road win against the 49ers since 2007.

CARNEROS
I wish I could record the Niner post game radio show ! They are speechless. Tim Green is color commentator and said he just “agitated” right now.
Throughout the broadcast they alternated between angry and plain dumbfounded. Said our D line owned their very good Oline. They seemed to get very “agitated” with Kapernick. Mentioned Rams may have found their next Steven Jackson.
It’s Tim Ryan and listening to their whining is priceless.
21DogParticipantI had to run out and pick up my wife and I was fortunate the game was on the radio. My wife’s lips were moving all the way home but I didn’t hear a word she said. I was tuned into the game. I thought for sure that this was going to be another crushing defeat. but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rams Win!!!!!!!!!
There is a particularly obnoxious 49er fan at work I can’t wait to see tomorrow.
Obnoxious 49er fan is redundant.
21DogParticipantThere’s always a handful of cars at the tail end of a NASCAR field that everyone knows has zero chance of actually winning a race. They only exist to fill out the field. That’s what the Rams have become. Field fillers. They only exist so that the NFL will have an even number of teams.
In the world of rasslin’, the Rams would be jobbers.
21DogParticipantAre people re-thinking Fisher a bit after a win?
No. I’m still a skeptic because the defense on a team coached by a defensive minded coach still stinks.
October 20, 2014 at 12:10 am in reply to: Robert Quinn on Sack Drought “All it takes is one snowflake" #999621DogParticipantThree sacks in the first half, none in the second.
Not sure what the difference was between the two halves (and don’t tell me the 20 minute halftime show).
21DogParticipant==============================
Laram – on Ogletreebut what AO did today goes beyond a “bad game” to me.
Alec Ogletree was a perfect example of a “coach killer” in today’s game.
I will disregard the missed tackles for this illustration, those happen far to frequently in the NFL.
But the misplays he had on Russell Wilson were totally inexcusable.
The Rams had AO spying Wilson in this game and Wilson ended up getting his career high in rush yards.
When you have contain, you learn in Pee Wee ball that you don’t give up the outside, you turn everything inside to your pursuit.
WTH was AO dipping inside and giving up the corner???
First its poor technique, and if given the choice, what do you think a qb is going to choose, inside or outside??
Russell Wilson is smart, he knows the sidelines is his friend, TURN HIM INSIDE!!! banghead
Ogletree made three off the charts physical/mental errors.
Missed a tackle on Baldwin on the first possession which cost his team 3 pts. and twice lost contain on Russell Wilson leading to huge gains.
21DogParticipantI have not seen the game yet,
but did 500 year-old Brandon Lloyd
actually outrun JJ ?
Is Lloyd faster than JJ?w
vWord to the wise (I’m giving you credit for wisdom, wv).
Don’t watch it.
Brutal. Inexcusable.
21DogParticipantSo, can they salvage this season, 21?
Do you think they can have a
good second half of the year?Lots of games left
for this messy-confused-infuriating-team.w
vHate being doom and gloom guy, but I don’t see it getting any better than 3-13.
The RG3 trade gave this team a chance to rebuild with young players. Early returns aren’t promising. Looking like the Dickerson trade results so far.
21DogParticipantEven Fredo thinks the Rams are weak.
Folded up like a cheap suit at the first signs of adversity last night (the Cook call and the pass to Lloyd).
21DogParticipantYou nailed it ZN. Davis was tight early in the game and at the end. I think calling screens would’ve helped him against that Philly pass rush.
Not sure if these are growing pains for Davis or if that’s his M.O. I was a bit pissed with the time management at the end of the game and the play clock penalty didn’t make matters easier on the 4th down play and no one had a chance for that final pass play…it was déjà vu from last year’s Seattle game with Clemmens ……but it was a good sign to see Sam on the sidelines with no crutches.
I hope Sam is affordable for the Rams next year. No doubt in my mind that the Rams are a much better team with Bradford
BTW I was really impressed with Philly today….until they had to manage the clock in the 4th qtr… They just couldn’t operate the offense to put the game away.
Rams need to play a complete game, but they 1st need a complete team.
Agree on Davis early. He was wild high. Thought he was going to get Quick or Cook killed.
Can’t agree with you on Bradford. That ship is the Titanic and it hit the iceberg.
September 22, 2014 at 9:41 am in reply to: This is what happens to teams that are poorly coached. #820321DogParticipantI liked the decision to go for it, but not the call or the choice of Stacy to carry the ball.
Play was too slow developing and I’d rather see Cunningham carry it in short yardage situations. Looks to me like he gets his pads a little lower than Stacy.

Merlin 1964

Les Josephson 1971When I think “superstar,” I think Les Josephson.
21DogParticipantHill is an overrated piece of crap. Sorry, just gotta call’em as I see them.
Grits
I never knew Hill was ever “rated” as anything more than a solid veteran backup QB.
No one is “overrating” him.
21DogParticipantWeren’t three of the five penalties on the first drive of the game?
21DogParticipantJason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora 18m
So as of right now Austin Davis has as many wins this season as Drew Brees and Tom Brady combined.Next stop is Canton.
21DogParticipantDeMarco Murray is licking his chops.
21DogParticipantGrits and TD called it.
Davis came through.
Good game by him.
Well done by Davis and good job of managing the game for him by Shotty.
September 12, 2014 at 11:01 pm in reply to: SF Niners play-by-play guy suspended for 2 games for Rice comments….. #706121DogParticipantHe was suspended by the 49ers.
And Joe is right. Robinson was a very good play by play man for many years, but has become an insufferable homer since working for the 49ers.
21DogParticipantReminds me of TJ Rubley
That’s the vibe I get from him and that’s not good.
September 7, 2014 at 5:37 pm in reply to: Jim Harbaugh losing San Francisco 49ers' locker room? #644421DogParticipantThose “distractions” really have the 49ers rattled today.
21DogParticipantYeah they killed themselves with penalties and mistakes in the 1st half. I thought that was all correctable IN THE GAME, if they had been able to keep Hill in there.
Of course.
Hill made the big mistake before the half, but he was among the least of the offense’s problems.
21DogParticipantI’m sorry the look on Hill’s face did not look like a guy who had an injury. He looked like a guy who had just been demoted.
I don’t buy the injury story. This is Davis’s team now.
Grits
Davis’ team?
Welcome to 0-16.

How do I contact a mod on this site? You know that’s a good question…meaning I realized when you asked that that, in fact, we had not supplied that information. I will add something about that to the original post in this thread.
I am a mod–through PM. Or you can make it public, here. The other mods are Herzog, InvaderRam, and Mack.
Just wanted to apologize for the response last night which caused a thread to be closed.
Not usually my style. Sorry for cluttering the board with that kind of stuff.
21DogParticipantI know those guys read this board. 21Dog likes to “Dog” me about Fresno state being better than USC. So, a little dig here and there is all in fun.
Besides, the wussey admins at the Herd board don’t like me for my anti-Stlouis attitude over the years. That’s fine. When the Rams move back to LA next season and most of those posters have abandoned the Herd Board, then what?Grits
You’re not on the Herd board because you like to stir shit.
Latest example is this piece of drivel.
I’m not the brightest around, but I would never say Fresno is better than SC. Absolutely never have. For you to say that is a lie.
August 24, 2014 at 9:14 pm in reply to: who should start? will they trade for someone? who? qb discussion #493321DogParticipantGilbert anyone?
Gottfreid?
21DogParticipantThe offense will be more horizontal (to steal from Al Davis) than vertical with Hill at the controls.
He doesn’t exactly have Bradford’s gun.
Hopefully he has better knees.
August 24, 2014 at 9:05 pm in reply to: who should start? will they trade for someone? who? qb discussion #492821DogParticipantDavis was pretty good a couple of years ago in the preseason and has stunk it up ever since, last night being the exception.
So was this a fluke or did the light go on for him?
Sadly I think it’s the former.
I’d keep as the primary backup for now. He hasn’t done nearly enough to start over Hill.
