The Eagles offensive line is everything. Watching them push SF around in the run game is a thing of beauty. Three rushing touchdowns and that’s a huge credit to the guys up front.

Feel for the 49ers and their fans with these circumstances, but the Eagles (and their fans) don’t care.

    Shame about the 9’ers.

Yet another wasted season.  Next year all those talented players will be another year older, another year closer to the end of their contracts, another year closer to the end of their competitive window.  Another year closer to the end.

If they had just blocked better on that play in which Purdy got hurt.   If their vaunted front 7 just hadn’t been dominated by the Eagles’ o-line which allowed them to run at will and control the game…

There’s nothing as agonizing as potential unfulfilled. “For all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are these, ‘it might have been.”

I feel terrible for all those 9’er fans out there.  I wish there was something I could do to relieve their suffering.

    Yup, it’s a damn shame.

The Chiefs deserved to win that game. But the officiating in that one was absolutely atrocious. Wrecked a great game. It’s time for the NFL implement the SkyJudge, and deploy it aggressively, which is what a great majority of coaches want. You have the technology, guys. Use it.

Niner fans are pissed that Shanny didn’t review the 4th and 3 catch that set up the first Eagles TD on the opening drive…… Some niner fans feel that perhaps Purdy wouldn’t have been hurt had that play been reviewed… but the Eagles knocked out 2 QBs yesterday… Purdy’s replacement was also knocked out of the game with a concussion….

In the AFC game, with less than 1 min to play, I was prepped for OT… it’s a shame that last Chiefs drive ended that way and sent the Bengals packing.

Playoff games always seem to be wild in KC.. .one of the 1st TV playoff games that I remember as a kid was the Dolphins / KC OT game on Christmas Day.  Garo’s game winning kick.

Yeah, I felt the same way.

And now the major, over-determining factor for this super bowl is that it’s a red team v. a green team.

Also, although less important, woven in there somewhere is the fact that it’s a top defense against a top offense w/ an elite qb.

The season is too long, and fewer and fewer starters seem to make it this far. Play is sloppier, as are the refs. I think the playoffs this season have been particularly degraded in overall quality.

I know it will never happen, cuz, money. But, if they were really interested in player-safety, as well as producing the optimal “product,” they’d do the following:

No exhibition season. Extend training camp dates instead. Go back to a 14-game season. One bi-week. No Thursday, Saturday, or Monday games. Just Sundays.

    Grass fields, only.

Strict rules against helmet to helmet contact, regardless of the player, wherever, or whenever. End the silly rules about taunting. No flag unless it’s the kind of thing that leads to brawls. Same goes for Endzone celebrations. Let the players have fun.

Back to the schedule: Looking at 2023, the players could start the regular season September 10, and end it December 17th. Playoff rounds on the 24th, 31st, and the conference championships on Jan 7th. Super Bowl on January 21st.

The Combine in mid-February. Draft in early April. Training camp runs from early May thru August, with a two or three week break in July.

Players would stay healthier. Individual games would be better. Everyone wins, except on the money front.

Billy T, i think you expand the rosters…

regarding the back up play, specifically at QB, e.g.,  Josh Johnson, Perkins, John Wolford etc….  the level of play from these guys just considerably tails off.

If i was Kapernick’s agent, or Bradford’s agent, Newton, Henne, Fitzpatick et al.  or any seasoned QB in their 30’s, I’d campaign to get better QB depth signed to rosters.

Bengals vs Chiefs: What a terrible way to end a playoff game.

I like the way the rams did it against the saints.  Now THAT is the way to end a championship game.
