Seattle and Denver are not easy places to win… it takes a good team to win back to back in places like that….the Rams are a pretty good team

InvaderRamModeratora little disappointed. rams had a chance to really put the game out of reach early in the fourth quarter and fell a little flat.
goff did not play well. i think the pass rush affected him. i think the weather affected him but not as much as i thought it would.
i think the secondary was not good today. hill and shields i thought played bad.
still no outside pass rush. it’s officially panic mode as far as edge rusher is concerned. it’s going to cost the rams down the road against a good team.
gurley is now the nfl’s yards from scrimmage leader as well as the rushing leader. he also has 11 total touchdowns. 9 rushing and 2 receiving.
he’s on pace for 1661 rushing yards and 659 receiving yards – 2320 yards total. he’s also on pace for 29 total touchdowns which would rank second all-time – only to tomlinson.
helluva season so far for todd.
rams need to pick it up next week for the niners. i don’t expect a letdown. but niners will be playing after a monday night game. rams need to put them away. no close game next week.

JackPMillerParticipantI saw one highlight, one was where we got called for a pass interference against us in the end zone, which later Denver scored one to make it 23-20. There was no way in H.E, Double Hockey sticks that was pass interference. Even one of the people on NFL Network, said even if if you were to push him, for the pass, that ball was way over Sutton’s head. No chance to catch it.

canadaramParticipantConsecutive road wins in less than ideal weather, in two notoriously difficult places for visiting teams to play. I love it. The sacks werent great , but I’m not surprised that speed rushers would give the Rams’ line problems. I could see the Niners front getting to Goff next week as well. Anyway, 6-0!? Wow! Between 2007 and 2016 seven wins was the ceiling. So to have 6 wins in October has me pretty pleased.
Fingers crossed that Saffold and Kupp don’t have lingering issues. Okoronkwo is eligible to practice this week and while I doubt he’s a difference maker the rest of the season it wiuld be nice to see him in for some passing downs. I would think that Zuerlein is close to returning as well.

vThey were taunting us on the Rams Huddle board. They feel we are illegal aliens. Not from another country, but from another planet. I live in Reading(PA), my area may seem like that, but still.

ZooeyModeratorYeah, I am a little disappointed the Rams didn’t put them away. They moved the ball at will the first couple of drives, but couldn’t get it in the end zone, and settled for field goals. And they had a chance at the end of put the game completely out of reach, and didn’t finish.
Still there was never any concern that the Rams would lose, either. The Rams had the upper hand the entire game, and never really let Denver get in it. It felt like the Rams won by more than 3 points.
But it was 25 degrees in Denver, the Broncos had their back against the wall, and really needed a win. But the Rams got the W. In spite of the Chiefs’ loss, they can’t feel good about where their season is headed now.
Fingers crossed for the injury report.
But …damn…I said at the time that I would be happy if Kupp was back for the playoffs, and the day ended more promising than that. I haven’t seen any update since the game, but I was stunned that he came back on the field. That has to be a good sign.

PA RamParticipantThis was my favorite win of the year.
Denver is a difficult place to play. The Chiefs only won by 4 points there. The Rams had just come off a difficult, tiring win in Seattle and had to travel to Denver for a brutal weather game. They also faced a desperate team. And they got it done. At the end of the day no one will care what this score was if they finish 13-3 or 12-4 and get home field advantage and a bye for the playoffs. We will barely remember it.
Like Derek Carr says in the commercial: the NFL is hard.
This team is an amazing 6-0.
They found a way and they closed it out. Like last week.
I’m very impressed.
Yes–there were sacks. If I were playing the Rams I’d let Gurley run and take my chances and go all out to pressure Goff. It was a good gameplan. The Rams still win–but it’s closer. I expect every team to do their best to pressure Goff. They won’t always be successful. Goff was a little off today–yes. But he didn’t look awful either.
Thank goodness for Kupp. Even if he checks out okay I’d sit him against the 9ers. The 9ers will be another tough game but they NEED Kupp for the playoffs and end of the year push. Get him healthy.
I’m perfectly happy with the win. I thought they might lose.

October 17, 2018 at 12:15 am #92461znModeratorI was a bit disappointed in that win (to the degree it’s possible to be disappointed in a win) because McV kept putting the other team back in the game and making it closer than it shoulda been.
take the example of getting sacked out of FG range and therefore subtracting a score.
Up 20 to 10, quarter 4, 3rd n 3 at the DEN 19, Goff sacked by Chubb for -10 yards; 4th down 47 yard FG, no good.
The Denver defensive strategy was to cover and sack, and sacrifice the run. So Denver committed its defense to defending the pass, and that’s a team with good pass rushers and a good secondary. Goff was having a subpar day for him for that reason. He held the ball because the receivers were covered, and that was by defensive design—Denver was using its strengths (pass rush, secondary) to counter a Rams strength, and it was working.
So Goff dropped back 28 times in that game, and was sacked on 5 of them and had incompletions or an INT on 9 more. He was throwing for 50% and ended up with 174 net yards passing.
So the pass was not there like it usually is.
In contrast in the situation I am talking about if you run on 3rd down in that situation you at least stay within more manageable FG range. Even a no gain on that run gives you 10 yards on the FG. Puts you up 23-10 at that point, which with the Rams FG coming later in the 4th puts you up 26-13 with 3:15 remaining.
It’s just one decision where they made things a bit harder than they had to be.

And then I thought the two plays that we ended up taking sacks, when we were on the 19 yard line. Fortunately, the second one on the bootleg didn’t end up hurting us, we were running the ball so efficiently. Then the third down-and-three, where we end up knocking ourselves out of, what you feel like is going to be a good field goal range. So to answer your question, yeah, I’m still bothered by those. I thought that you got to learn from them. I’ll move on, but I think it’s great. We ask our players to try to learn from some of their decisions or their execution and things like that. It’s the same way. Those plays didn’t work out in our favor, but they didn’t really go in alignment with some of the flow and the feel of the game, with the way we were running the football. Those are the things that, hopefully, you get better with and you learn from experience.

Game 6 review, Broncos
This game was weird. It was obviously cold for everyone and messy, but the good news is that we can get ourselves into a mess and still get out with a win.
The Great
1) Gurley 200 yards with no big runs … that was just a 7 ypc average with a lot of 7 yard runs.
2) Robert Woods being Mr reliable in cold weather when we lost Kupp.
The Good
3) Littleton getting his hands on passes …
4) JJ3 in coverage and in run support.
5) Kupp’s knee only being a sprain, holy goodness.
6) Having enough depth on the O-line to not worry when we lose any position …
7) Malcom Brown being a really stable punishing backup.
8) Donald getting sacks and somehow not losing his mind getting held every play.
9) Getting the ball to Reynolds on the first play in.
10) Franklin Myers, when he gets better at his “get off” (he’s legitimately last every play, by a half second) … he’ll be making a lot of plays.
The Bad
11) Obviously confused by the pass defense scheme they were running and never successfully adjusted for it …
12) We don’t have an edge rusher … it’s getting to be an issue now.
13) Peters is not the same player without Aqib …
14) We need a legit nose tackle … our guys are too easily run off their spots.
The Ugly
15) Being Chubb’s breakout game.
The thing we learned
16) How vital Kupp’s presence is to our offense.
