They say (or one study says) that winning teams tend to have about 10 players taking up 60% of their cap.
The cap is supposed to be 200 M in 2020. Which current players fit into the 60% by then, which of course is 120 M.
I think this is possible.
Goff 30 M
Donald 24 M
Cooks 17 M
Peters 15 M
Gurley 12 M
That leaves 22 M. Which is say 3 more players, ranging from 6-8 M and averaging 7 M.
So that’s 8 players.
Look who it leaves out. Joyner, Brockers, Kupp. (Whitworth is gone by then either way.)
You can have 2 of those 3 excluded players if you don’t sign Donald. But I think Donald is worth any 2 other good players (except Goff). (Cause, qbs are hard to find. Ask the Rams.)
My big question is, do you keep Gurley? Frankly, as much as I like Gurley, I would rather keep Brockers than him, based just on the idea that you can find good RBs and get by just fine with them–you don’t need an elite RB.
