FYI on Eric Grubman leaving #NFL. This isn’t an insignificant loss. There are folks in the NFL who believe him to be commissioner material. A lot of strategy, toughness and intelligence is leaving that office.

Had been speculated about for awhile now, but that’s a big loss for the #NFL

Writing about the new kickoff rules for this weekend, and I’d forgotten that, prior to Pharoh Cooper returning a kickoff for a TD last October, the Rams hadn’t had a kickoff return for a TD since Oct. 2005 (!!!!)

When I spoke with John Fassel this week — and asked him if it was really worth keeping the kickoff — he proclaimed that the kickoff was “the best play in football.”

But his team has only really reaped the major benefit of a kickoff return 0.4% of the time.

Seriously, I hadn’t yet been to my junior prom the last time the Rams returned a kickoff for a TD
