    Rams were listed (by the NFL) as having a “rookie camp” on May 11-12, but that only will be for some tryout guys. This year’s draft picks will be on the field for the first time May 15, as part of the regular offseason program.

    As Troy Vincent said yesterday, the NFL plans to make changes to the kickoff for 2018—but not eliminate it. Special teams coaches around the league collaborated on a proposal to modify the play & make it safer by reducing some of the play’s space and speed.

    Language of the proposed rule change is still being finalized before vote at May meetings but changes would include no running start for kicking team, no wedge & only three players deep

    There’s optimism these changes will make the play safer—but will it be enough? Packers president Mark Murphy said the play is on a short leash & will be reassessed year to year.
