Rams third round picks since 2012.

    2012 3 65 Trumaine Johnson
    2013 3 92 Stedman Bailey
    2013 3 71 T.J. McDonald
    2014 3 75 Tre Mason RB
    2015 3 89 Sean Mannion
    2015 3 72 Jamon Brown
    2017 3 91 John Johnson
    2017 3 69 Cooper Kupp

If you don’t count Bailey (shot) then it’s 7.

Out of those 7, 5 became starters: Johnson, McDonald, Brown, Johnson, Kupp. 71.4%.

If anyone knows the normal hit rate for third round picks, it would be fun to compare, but I know 71.4% beats it.

Interesting exercise; I will do the two Midwestern teams around me.

    Vikings picks since 2012
2012: DB Josh Robinson. Four years in MN with 47 games played and 21 starts; currently with Tampa, two years and 27 games with no starts.

    2013: none

2014: DE Scott Crichton. 18 games played, zero starts, currently a FA.

2015: DE Danielle Hunter. 26 games played, 17 starts including all 16 games in 2017.

    2016: none

2017: C Pat Elflein. 14 games played, 14 starts. Moved right into the starting center job but was injured toward the end of the season.

MN Vikings: two out of four. Robinson started off and on while in Minnesota, but didn’t get a second contract and is a backup in Tampa now. Hasn’t started a game since 2014.

Green Bay Packers picks since 2012

    2012: none

    2013: none

2014: DT Khryi Thornton: Never played for GB, was waived in Sep 2015, signed by Detroit and played 23 games with 6 starts. Currently without a team and under 10 game suspension for PEDs.

2014: TE Richard Rodgers. 63 games played with 24 starts. Signed with Philadelphia a few weeks ago.

2015: WR Ty Montgomery. 29 games played, 14 starts, most or all of them at running back.

2016: LB Kyle Fackrell. 29 games played with 2 starts.

2017: DT Montravious Adams. 7 games played, zero starts.

Green Bay Packers: One out of five, Rodgers, although the Pack was always looking for someone more consistent and talented. I did not count Montgomery because he was thrust into a starting role due to emergency at a different position than he was drafted.
