    I gotta say, though…what the hell?

    Had this information in my head for 20 minutes now, and it keeps popping up with…wth?

    Is this some kind of PR move because the guy is in trouble of some kind?

    I’m going to guess that Zuerlein has season tickets to the opera.

    And he wasn’t planning on being needed in the postseason, so he set his dates.

    And now…well…obviously it would be embarrassing to admit to this conflict, so…he and the Rams decided to call him out NOW, so the Rams would have time to audition a couple of kickers before the postseason starts.

    Something like that, anyway.

    According to Rams head coach Sean McVay, Zuerlein has been dealing with a herniated disc in his back throughout the season, but on Saturday night, while sleeping at the team hotel in Seattle, Zuerlein re-aggravated the injury and could barely get out of bed Sunday morning, let alone walk.
    McVay was told about Zuerlein’s condition before kickoff, and said that punter Johnny Hekker was prepared to be the emergency field goal kicker, with Cooper Kupp being the holder.
    However, just hours before the game, Zuerlein said he would give it a go, and played injured during the team’s 42-7 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

    Against the Seahawks he missed an extra pint and sent a kickoff out of bounds. This injury worsened to the point he can’t kick anymore this year. Crap.

    UPDATE: Zuerlein will undergo back surgery performed by Robert Watkins on Thursday and is expected to be out until Training Camp in 2018.

    BTW, in case you didn’t know, in German, “Ficken” means “fuck.”

    Maybe the reason why MCVay went for it on 4th down when Goff got picked

    BTW Jeff Wilkins is only 45…. same age as Viniteri…

    Give Wilkins a call. We don’t need some guy named Fuck in German deciding a playoff game

    I believe Fassel will coach him up and Ficken will be fine. Plus the players will rally around this kid, and he will succeed.
