Well…I personally think they didn’t do that well.

January 1, 2017 at 7:49 pm #62122AgamemnonParticipantWith a loss to Arizona today, Rams will be 41-86 since Demoff was hired to serve in a high-ranking executive position. https://t.co/kD0E42bQp1

January 1, 2017 at 7:50 pm #62123JackPMillerParticipantI can’t wait for our new Head Coach to come in here, and hopefully change this to a winning culture, unlike our last coach.
It will be exciting when me and Nittany take over next year. Oops, that was meant to be a secret. I meant to say, the geniuses that the Rams organization is expected to hire.

January 1, 2017 at 8:27 pm #62131sanbaggerParticipantAt this point if Fisher were still the HC and the staff was all intact, I think I would be feeling that is was going to be another wasted year.
Now that Stan has decided to go in another direction, I feel kinda excited to see how it plays out and have a glimmer of hope going forward.
I know the team has holes but I also see plenty of talent, much more than 4 wins. A new HC to put the pieces together is extremely important IMO.
Sometimes it’s not about the X’s and O’s but sometimes it is. After watching this offense all year, I’m convinced alot of the issues was the X’s and O’s.

he shouldn’t be involved in football related decisions.
kroenke needs to find someone he trusts to make those decisions and relegate demoff to something else. i hope i am wrong because i don’t see kroenke ever doing this. so we’re probably stuck with him.
January 2, 2017 at 11:02 am #62192joemadParticipantSpags and Fisher were supposed to be guys that build teams from the trenches out.
Apparently not. The offensive line has sucked for 2-3 generations of Rams football….
January 2, 2017 at 11:42 am #62198sanbaggerParticipantAw man its Ground Hog Day already?
I know, it does kinda feel that way. Trust me, I’m frustrated as well….just, I see things that tells me this team definitely underachieved. This team is better than the record shows, IMO.
I don’t see it as good as that 98 team…maybe a couple of years until ready now with an entirely new regime and system.
January 2, 2017 at 12:04 pm #62201ZooeyModeratorWhy the loathing of Demoff? How is he responsible for any of this? Apart from letting Jenkins go – and afaik nobody knows for sure whose decision that was – what has he done apart from negotiate contracts?
This team is a mess on the field.
I think these guys got distracted by the bright lights, big city. Hard Knocks. All the novelty. I think it was growing pains, but not the normal ones. This was the move.
They need a coach who not only knows his Xs and Os, but someone who can get everyone to focus and buy in. There is more than 4 wins of talent on this roster. If the next coach is any kind of motivator of men, this team will be better next year. I think burning it to the ground would be a mistake, though I sympathize with the feeling.
Clearly, the team needs additions. But what it needs more than anything else is discipline. It needs leadership. It needs to interview Henry V.

i’m fine if he’s dealing with non-football related decisions, but he has no business picking a head coach and general manager.
this disaster will continue as long as he’s on that side.
January 2, 2017 at 12:22 pm #62205joemadParticipantneed a coach who not only knows his Xs and Os, but someone who can get everyone to focus and buy in.
This team has lacked focus under Fisher.
Boras is neither X O’s or focused.
Even when a good play is called, the Rams run it as if they never practiced it. (The flicker pick that Cooper floated in the air)
I don’t think this team is that far off, they need a Coughlin, type of coach. Need Discipline

I agree. I never figured out why Demoff is so hated. Yeah, he publically lied a lot up until the move but he was just doing what he gets paid to do – Lord Kroenke’s bidding.
He’s not responsible for how the team performs on the field, although I’m not confident he will be the right guy to hire the next coach.
January 2, 2017 at 1:26 pm #62210InvaderRamModeratoralthough I’m not confident he will be the right guy to hire the next coach
that is my problem with him. i don’t trust him to be able to find a general manager either.
and even if i did, he still doesn’t need to be in control of football operations. kroenke needs to find someone on that side who he trusts as much as he does demoff, and let demoff deal with other things.
January 2, 2017 at 1:55 pm #62211ZooeyModeratorI’m not confident in Demoff, either, but I’m not confident in anybody. I don’t know how to hire the right head coach. Demoff is in a better position to know what the team needs than anybody else is.
It comes to this:
1. What went wrong?
2. How do we fix it?The talent didn’t just disappear overnight. There is talent on the team. (Britt had a very quiet career year, btw. Over 1,000 yards. That isn’t nothing).
Anyway. I have my theory: The Move Was Too Damn Distracting.
Now, Demoff is presumably in communication with all the coaches, and Snead, and has a better grasp of what the team needs than anyone else. I would be looking for a coach that did his homework. Knew the Rams’ problems, and had a plan for how to go forward with the pieces the Rams have, and acquire the other parts he would need to make it work.
And go USC.

Penn State will make USC look like the Rams.
Wait, sorry. That was terribly unsportsmanlike of me. I’m sure Penn State will demolish USC but they won’t make them look as bad as the Rams. There is no place where that sort of talk is acceptable and I do apologize.

Pfft.
Sure. Your boys have never SEEN weather like this. The temperatures have plummeted to the mid-50s in Los Angeles, and there is even a slight chance of drizzle.
January 3, 2017 at 8:40 am #62279wvParticipantI think the MOVE to LA-LA-Land, coupled with
Boras being in over his head,
coupled with starting Keenum and then a Rookie
were certainly big parts of this clusterfuck,
but there were probably other factors because
this thing just sunk like a rock.
How did this team go from that tough team that won
three games to the ‘thing’ we watched the last month? How did THAT happen?
The move doesnt explain that.
