DE) Maybe the best DE draft ever. Great top end, great second tier. Im not even going to get into the players … but Im certain to say that names like these will last till our pick in round 2 .. Lawson, Wormley, Walker, Chubb, Charleton, Wise, Fields … and those guys are all special. They go in round two because there are THAT many special players ahead of them in round 1, and so many DBs.
have a huge list of players … just YUGE

DE, I think Rams will take two. It’s a strong and deep class …I figure a 2nd and 4th or 5th rounder … there will be second round talent in round 4 and maybe 5. I don’t even have a line on some of the beasts in the FCS.

CB) Good top end, not elite … but really deep. If something happened and we needed a starter we could get one in round 2 … and there are likely going ot be solid depth players available like Gaines was in the 6th …

    S) Best year for S since the Berry-E Thomas year. I have three top 10 players … Peppers, Adams, and Hooker. The guy I am geeking out on Washington state isn’t even on the radar yet, but Luani will be … I would love him in the 3rd. This is IF we need to replace Mo.

    what I’m seeing:

    Quality starter at 37.

DE, CB, WR … there should be a few. The DBs in this draft are high end and deep … but I’d much rather go DE or WR which are also high end and deep

So…If they bring in an O minded coach, would he be OK going D with their first pick…on day 2 mind you?

That’s where keeping Sneed could pay dividends. The guy knows the team and he has been in contact with the scouts all season. He could pursuade a Shanahan or a McD and if he has final say we don’t see reaches…I’m all for the best available even though I’m a known O-line builder type.

I know what you’re saying but I hope so.

This team is not going to have a top offense in one year no matter what they do.

They will still have to rely on a top defense to win.

    And…without DEs, it’s not a top defense.

so the dline is supposed to be the strength of this team and we’re hoping to draft 2 defensive ends. and mind you i actually don’t necessarily disagree. the rams NEED defensive ends.

i think it just shows exactly how much work this teams needs.

Agreed. It will take a lot of discipline, as an O minded coach, to take a D guy when your first pick in your first draft is on day 2.

That’s where you have to stay true to your board and if you put a new GM in place assembling that board…well, I lose confidence.

IMO, Snead is critical at this juncture going in to next year.

I’m a believer in staying true to the board, that netted us wins like Donald…when you start to reach it can be a home run or it can get you fired. I also don’t want a HC to have total control…the GM should have last say IMO.

o the dline is supposed to be the strength of this team and we’re hoping to draft 2 defensive ends.

Well IMO the DL won’t be the strength of the team UNLESS they draft 2 ends.

Quinn has been hurt for 2 consecutive seasons now, and Hayes is up there and not that productive. They need a rotation at both DE spots.

OR teams just double/triple Donald and there’s no defense.

I think they can get things out of this offense without pouring in a ton of resources.

But they won’t win if they let the defense slide while trying to get a top offense. That would just be gray area hell.

I am for making the offensive line the number one priority. But, when it comes to drafting, I am going TALENT. I am going strength over weakness. I would rather have a strength and a weakness as have balance. I am going player over position, as Snead says.

alyoshamucci, is good at his ratings. imo Me, I just do the top pick or two. I haven’t looked at the draft this year. My general feeling is that I want to get bigger on the defensive line and add a CB. I am looking for WRs that catch the ball.

For me. I am high on Pat Elflien C Ohio State. Dump Tim Barnes and upgrade the Center position. Move GRob to LG, cut Saffold, bring in Will Beatty, 2 years at $3.5 million to play LT. Draft a kid in the late rounds like, Jordan Morgan OT from The Kutztown University in the late rounds to groom for the LT position.
