Hillary Clinton, Racist: Her Top 5 Worst Comments (in Public)

Hillary Clinton has made Donald Trump’s remarks about a federal judge, among others, the basis for a campaign accusing him of being a racist. It is worth visiting Clinton’s own history of making racially offensive comments for political gain.

    1. “Hard-working white Americans” prefer her to Obama. In May 2008, Clinton told the USA Today that while Obama was leading the delegate race, she still had a broader political base. Unfortunately, she made that claim in explicitly racial terms, citing an Associated Press poll “that found how Senator Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me.”

    2. “Colored People’s Time.” Clinton appeared alongside left-wing New York City mayor Bill de Blasio at the annual Inner Circle Dinner this year, and joined in a racist joke based on a stereotype that black people are late for everything:

Clinton: I just have to say thanks for the endorsement, Bill. Took you long enough. [Laughter]

De Blasio: Sorry Hillary, I was running on C.P. time. [Audience gasps]

Host: I don’t like jokes like that.

As Mediate later noted, the cable news networks mostly ignored the racist joke.

    3. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. wasn’t really THAT great. As she struggled to stop the Obama insurgency in the 2008 Democratic primary, Clinton tried to diminish Obama’s credentials as a “community organizer,” which had led some to draw connections between him and Dr. King. Clinton argued that it was really a professional politician, President Lyndon Johnson, who made the difference: “Dr. King’s dream began to be realized when President Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act”

    4. “Ah don’t feel no ways TAHHHHHRD.” Clinton, like Vice President Al Gore, and indeed like President Obama himself, has a tendency to imitate what she believes to be an African-American accent when she speaks before black audiences. Obama, who grew up in Hawaii, at least has some cultural competence and experience, honed through practice in inner city Chicago. Clinton manages to sound condescending every time — most notoriously in this cringe-worthy clip from 2008.

    5. Obama’s “slumlord,” and “super predators.” Losing traction in 2008, Clinton belatedly attacked Obama’s connection to fraudster and fundraiser Tony Rezko: “I was fighting against those [Reagan] ideas when you were practicing law and representing your contributor, Rezko, in his slum landlord business in inner city Chicago,” she said in a South Carolina debate. The remark was described as racist by Obama fans — as was her 1996 term for chronic criminals, “super predators.”

Now lets look at this photo-

The photograph at top came from the Clinton campaign in 2008 (though not from Clinton herself.) Obama campaign manager David Plouffe called “the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we’ve seen from either party in this election.”

On to other examples of Hillary’s racism-

TOP TEN EXAMPLES OF HILLARY CLINTON’S RACISM THE MEDIA CHOOSES TO IGNORE
JUNE 11, 2016| BY BRIAN ANDERSON

The liberal media, democrats, and even some Republicans are going crazy over Donald Trump’s “racism.” For the record, the GOP nominee has made comments against illegal alien criminals and Islamic terrorists, but has never attacked or spoken ill of anyone’s race. Hillary Clinton on the other hand has a long and sordid history of making racist remarks, but somehow gets a free pass.

If the media wants to focus on the racism of the presidential candidates, why are they ignoring these 10 prime examples:

#1 – In 1974, after Bill Clinton lost his bid for a Senate seat, Hillary lashed out at campaign manager Paul Fray calling him a, “f*cking Jew bastard!” This outburst was witnessed and confirmed by 3 people, so it definitely happened.

#2 – As First Lady, Hillary called young black men “super-predators” indicating that she thought all young black males were violent criminals. She also said, “We have to bring them to heel,” like young blacks are the same as dogs. Despite thinking this was incredibly racist, blacks still support Hillary.

#3 – While serving in the US Senate, Hillary tried to make a joke that disparaged a civil rights icon and demeaned all people from India. “I love this quote. It’s from Mahatma Gandhi. He ran a gas station down in St. Louis for a couple of years. Mr. Gandhi, do you still go to the gas station?” asked Clinton.

#4 – In 2005 Hillary said, “I am adamantly against illegal immigrants.” She also, as a Senator, voted to construct a wall between the US and Mexico. Considering the main “proof” of Trump’s racism is that he opposes illegal immigration and wants to build a wall, isn’t it odd that Hillary gets off for having said the same thing?

#5 – During the 2008 democratic primaries Hillary Clinton’s campaign started the “birther” rumors, questioning Obama’s US citizenship. They even circulated the now famous picture of Obama in full Muslim garb. Somehow Trump’s campaign to get Obama to release his birth certificate is racist, but Hillary’s role in starting the birther movement is not.

#6 – Also during the 2008 presidential race, Hillary’s husband Bill said this of Obama: “A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee.” Hillary didn’t say this one but her husband did and she certainly never disavowed it.

#7 – Shortly after announcing her candidacy, Hillary said “all lives matter” in a black church. I don’t think this one is racist, but lefties, black activists, and Hillary herself all do, so it makes the list. Plus as is the case with most of this stuff, if Trump had said it liberals would freak the hell out.

#8 – In November of 2015, Hillary called people in this country illegally “illegal aliens.” Trump is a racist when he says “illegal aliens,” why isn’t Hillary?

#9 – In April of this year, Hillary joined NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio on stage at a democratic fundraiser for a scripted joke about how lazy black people are. The two liberals made reference to “colored people’s time” which is a super-racist way of saying black people are chronically tardy and lethargic.

#10 – April was a great month for Hillary’s racism, as she also made a comment disparaging Native Americans. She said she had experience dealing with wild men when they “get off the reservation.” In essence she said Native Americans are savages who must be segregated from the rest of society.

    As a bonus:

#11 – On a black radio show, Hillary pandered to black voters by claiming she always carries hot sauce in her purse. It was racist when Donald Trump pandered Hispanics by eating a taco bowl, but not racist when Hillary pandered blacks. How does that work?

To recap: Trump has said that some illegal aliens are criminals, suggested a judge with ties to a radical racist Mexican group may be biased, and offered the opinion that we do more to keep radical Islamic Terrorists from getting into the country. These things that have nothing to do with race are why the media constantly tells us Trump is a racist.

Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, has decades of making anti-Semitic, anti-black, anti-Indian (both Native Americans and Asians), and anti-Latino statements. Why is Trump a racist and Hillary is not?

Hillary Clinton needs to address the racist undertones of her 2008 campaign

    Ryan Cooper

    July 23, 2015

Black Lives Matter, the advocacy group for black interests, has gotten the attention of the Democratic presidential candidates, who are reportedly scrambling to reach out to the movement. Even heavy favorite Hillary Clinton is getting in on it, addressing the movement in a Q&A session on Facebook, where she checked most of the right boxes.

DeRay McKesson, one of the movement’s leaders, wrote on Twitter that the post was “solid.” But he also noted that she had two days to work on it, and did not attend the liberal forum Netroots Nation, unlike her challengers Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley, who flailed in front of activists from Black Lives Matter.

McKesson is right to be suspicious. Hillary Clinton’s record on race is not great. If she wishes to earn some trust on issues of racial justice, a good place to start would be with the distinctly racist undertones of her 2008 campaign against Barack Obama.

As the first primaries got underway in 2008, and Obama began to slowly pull ahead, the Clinton camp resorted to increasingly blatant race- and Muslim-baiting. It started in February, when Louis Farrakhan, the head of the Nation of Islam, endorsed Obama in a sermon. In a debate a couple days later, moderator Tim Russert repeatedly pressed Obama on the issue, who responded with repeated reassurances that he did not ask for the endorsement, did not accept it, and in fact was not a deranged anti-Semite. That wasn’t enough for Clinton, who demanded that Obama “denounce” Farrakhan, which he did.

About the same time, a picture of Obama in traditional Somali garb (from an official trip) then appeared on the Drudge Report, and Matt Drudge claimed he got it from the Clinton campaign. After stonewalling on the origin question, the campaign later claimed it had nothing to do with it. A Clinton flack then went on MSNBC and argued that Obama should not be ashamed to appear in “his native clothing, in the clothing of his country.”

Later, a media firestorm blew up when it was discovered that Obama’s Chicago pastor Jeremiah Wright once delivered a sermon containing the words “God damn America.” In response, Obama gave a deft, nuanced speech on racial issues, but Clinton kept the issue alive by insisting she would have long ago denounced the man.

The late Michael Hastings, who covered Clinton’s campaign, described one instance of this strategy on the ground:

[Clinton supporter] Buffenbarger launched into a rant in which he compared Obama to Muhammad Ali, the best-known black American convert to Islam after Malcolm X. “But brothers and sisters,” he said, “I’ve seen Ali in action. He could rope-a-dope with Foreman inside the ring. He could go toe-to-toe with Liston inside the ring. He could get his jaw broken by Norton and keep fighting inside the ring. But Barack Obama is no Muhammad Ali.” The cunning racism of the attack actually made my heart start to beat fast and my ears start to ring. For the first time on the campaign trail, I felt completely outraged. I kept thinking, “Am I misreading this?” But there was no way, if you were in that room, to think it was anything other than what it was. [GQ]

Then there was Bill Clinton comparing Obama’s campaign to that of Jesse Jackson’s unsuccessful run in 1988. The capstone came in May, when Hillary Clinton started openly boasting about her superior support from white voters.

The effort was not so blatant as George H.W. Bush’s Willie Horton ad, but the attempt to play on racist attitudes through constant repetition and association was unmistakable — in addition to playing into right-wing conspiracy theories that Obama is a secret Muslim who was born in Africa. It’s likely why in West Virginia — a state so racist that some guy in a Texas prison got 40 percent of the Democratic primary vote in 2012 — Clinton won a smashing victory.

This brings us back to today’s presidential race. Many of the demands posed by activists focus on rhetorical gestures of support and solidarity (a notable feature of the Netroots confrontation last weekend). But this raises this issue of trust: A very charming, cynical person could simply promise support using the right words, win the election, then forget all about it.

Does the Hillary Clinton of 2008 sound like someone who’s genuinely committed to the cause of racial justice? If she has changed her views, now would be a good time to explain.

Someone has argued otherwise that Trump is a racist though their only focusing on Trump is their not being a “partisan hack”. Thats why I made this thread. I was told my opinion has “no merit” because I do not give “facts”. Hildabeast is a racist and has campaigned for decades with her racism there for all to see. Those that want to see. Those that feel the need to pimp race at every opportunity to smear someone in a cowardly premeditated attack will not get a pass from me. I will call them out because they deserve to be called out. They’ve earned it.

Some of the things listed against Trump I would say are BS. However Trump hasn’t done anything on the order of Hillary’s saying “fucking jew bastard” nor her supporting policies that have devastated black america nor her using her opponents race against him in her campaign.

    bnw,

Clinton may well be a racist, but your sources don’t prove that, and Breitbart is the last publication you should cite on the subject.

First off, the guy who used to run it, Steve Bannon, is Trump’s campaign manager, and it’s the flagship for the Alt-Right. So it’s a bit like you quoting David Duke on HRC’s supposed racism. You’re posting a white supremacist media outlet to supposedly “prove” HRC’s racism.

And even if we ignore its white supremacist ideology, it has a long history of just making shit up, going back to its deceased founder, a serial liar.

If you want to persuade anyone here that “Clinton is just as bad as Trump” when it comes to racism, you’re going to need to cite legitimate, creditable sources, not white supremacists themselves.

    Addendum.

Your second source, however, is pretty solid. Thanks for posting that article from theweek.com.

Also, this one from Michelle Alexander is very strong.

Why Hillary Clinton Doesn’t Deserve the Black Vote From the crime bill to welfare reform, policies Bill Clinton enacted—and Hillary Clinton supported—decimated black America. By Michelle Alexander February 10, 2016

Neither candidate should be president, in my view. Neither party has earned the privilege of governing this country.

But I do see Trump as worse — beyond matters of race as well. On energy policy, the environment, deregulation of business, law and order issues, profiling, the surveillance state, and he has said he’s fine with using nuclear weapons, even on Europe.

We’d be better off with neither of them. But Trump is worse.

They’re not “facts,” bnw. They’re accusations from a completely discredited source, which is itself white supremacist. Nothing from their article proves what you claim. As mentioned, the one from theweek is damning, as is the one I just posted from Michelle Alexander. But not the one you posted from Breitbart.

No I haven’t. Never questioned the “merit” of your opinion. Certainly disagreed with many of your positions but never the merit. Questioning merit is the same arrogance that has made people realize they won’t vote for Hildabeast.

No, it’s not, bnw. Notice they don’t offer any sources for their accusations. They just state them. And most of their examples don’t show “racism” even if they’re reporting them accurately. Read it again. The article is an opinion piece, not verified fact. The author makes judgments regarding what they say was said by reading additional material into them.

Look at #8, for example. No one says Trump is a racist because he uses the term “illegal alien.” The author of the piece just makes shit up, creates strawmen, and tries to get people to think it proves Clinton is racist.

Look at #11. Are you serious? Carrying hot sauce makes a person racist?

Or #7? Again, are you serious?

Come on. The entire article is a bad joke.

#5 has been thoroughly debunked by umpteen fact-checkers. The Birther movement didn’t start with Clinton.

Another one: The Breitbart author, following Trump’s lead, tries to make it sound like Clinton was actually talking about Native Americans when she said:

Hillary Clinton has a message for Donald Trump ahead of the general election: “I have a lot of experience dealing with men who sometimes get off the reservation in the way they behave and how they speak.”

“I’m not going to deal with their temper tantrums or their bullying or their efforts to try to provoke me,” Clinton said in an excerpt of an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper aired Friday. “He can say whatever he wants to say about me. I could really care less.” Clinton: I’m very experienced with men who go ‘off the reservation’ By Nick Gass 04/29/16 01:43 PM EDT

Come on. It’s a silly “he said, she said” back and forth, with endless strawmen and a major distraction.

Both candidates suck. Both parties suck. The question is, who will do the least damage, and that’s Clinton, in my view.

The question is, who will do the least damage, and that’s Clinton, in my view.

As in, Trump will cause the most damage of the two.

I see Clinton as the protector of the status quo, as was Obama. He protected the status quo handed him by Bush. I see Clinton as doing the same. Basically, to oversimplify, the status quo with a Dem in the White House means soft neoliberalism and soft neoconservatism — if there is a standoff with a GOP Congress, it’s a little “harder.”

That, to me, continues the damage inflicted by endless wars, economic inequality, environmental devastation, mass incarceration, the war on drugs, the absence of sane gun safety regulations, the expansion of the surveillance state. Soft neoliberalism and soft neoconservatism.

If, however, Trump is elected, we’ll see hard neoliberalism and hard neoconservatism. He and a GOP Congress will inflict a great deal more damage as they double down, accelerate and expand the status quo maladies protected by the Dems in their uneasy “truce” with the GOP.

No more need for an impasse or truce, because Trump and the GOP will control all. So, even more wars, even more environmental devastation, even stricter “law and order” bullshit, even higher rates of mass incarceration, profiling, the nationalization of “stop and frisk,” etc. etc. etc. Far, far higher levels of economic inequality, as he slashes taxes for the rich and regulations for business. Far, far more environmental, workplace and consumer devastation as he either obliterates government watchdog depts like the FDA, OSHA and the EPA, or kneecaps them.

Not to mention the Courts, where we’ll go from business-friendly, corporate-friendly center-right judges, chosen by the Dems, to rabid far right, Ayn Rand devotees chosen by Trump and company.

So, again, Clinton will cause less damage. That’s my view.
