Hello Ram Fans!
I have a fantasy football league question for you. I am in a FFL league (Team Name: Sacks and the City) and our draft is tomorrow night. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I am unable to participate because my husband and I will be out celebrating my retirement!! (Yes after approx. 30 years in the corporate world I am thrilled to be able to say goodbye and start a new phase of my life: volunteering, travel and catching up on fun things like RAMS FOOTBALL!)
Anyway….there are several options available for the ‘auto-pick’ option in my league. For example you can set a ‘pick by pick’ strategy for the positions on the team. I typically go for a RB in the first round but last year all the guys in the league started picking QBs….and as I was last pick in the draft, so did I. So my question is this…. should I just let the auto-pick do it’s thing and not worry about it OR should I do something like ‘Best RB available’ in the first round?
I’m really looking forward to posting with you all this year. Life has been far too crazy and I haven’t been able to spend much time on hobbies for the past several years. I can not WAIT to spend this season with you all.
Thanks so much in advance!!!

Where to rank qb though, to me, would depend on how many people were in the league. I would think that there are at least 7-8 qbs I would rate before any RBs, just to make sure you have a qb.
But anyway. I wanted to say I moved this post to this board, its real home (it was previously on the Public House board). That’s why I will be listed as having “modified” it. Just moved it is all.

Good to see you on the board.
I got no FFL knowledge though.

I focused on backs who are young and didn’t platoon, meaning they are expected to get 70% of the touches. Zac Stacy is in that mix, with AP of course at the top. Arian Foster I think is going to have a big come back year and watch out for Ellington, the back from AZ. Stay away from backs 30 and over as their production almost always tanks.
As for WRs, I’m pretty high on Tavon Austin because they plan to get the ball in multiple ways. I also like Julio Jones, Vincent Jackson, Demarius Thomas and the Bears duo, Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery.
I liked the Seattle and St Louis Defenses as well as Denver and Houston. Cincy’s should be worth a look if you get caught in a run on Ds.
Kickers were pretty standard. I liked Z, Hauschka, Denver’s kicker and SF’s kicker. Dunno if you said your league is an NFL.com league, but you can set up your own ranking of players there that will be used if you miss your draft.
Sports is the crucible of human virtue. The distillate remains are human vice.

99% chance you’re gonna win your league that way. 🙂
Have fun!

If you just have it set for best player available, you might wind up with a set of reserves comprised of four QBs, three kickers, and three team defenses or whatever. Some leagues will allow you to set your draft up for a maximium number of picks at any given position.
If you can do that, then I would say set it for best available.
Also, many leagues allow you to remove players from the draft pool. This way, you can eliminate the possibility of selecting highly ranked players who are injured, or any who play for the Niners.
Good luck!
