Okay, I’m getting a bit bored around here. You guys aren’t doing enough to keep me distracted while I wait for kickoff (yes, Virginia, we get the game on live television in my town this week!).
So…office pool.
This week:
Who gets the most sacks of Aaron Rodgers?
Oh…look! I got here first, so I get to choose first (No duplicate choices, people. First come, first served).
I choose…
Chris Long.
Yep. Chris Long. Going out a limb, avoiding the two more popular choices in Donald and Quinn, and I’m taking Long.
Because…well, because I’m right…but also because the Packers’ RT sucks.
So. There you have it.
Pony up, people.
Oh…hey. Rule change!
You CAN pick the same guy as someone else. The tiebreaker will be:
Which Rams player will be the first to knock Rodgers out for one or more plays?
I’ve got Daren Bates.
October 10, 2015 at 8:07 pm #32085znModeratorAaron Donald gets the first sack.
But that’s just on the FIRST series.
It gets interesting after that.
From Miller’s Crossing:
Leo O’Bannion: So you wanna kill him…
Eddie Dane: For starters.

You’ve been eliminated from the game, and you’re lucky I don’t ban you from the board.
You have to play the game according to MY rules, or it’s going to get ugly for you.

Oh. Okay. Quinn gets the most sacks of Aaron Rodgers.
Will you un-ban me now? Otherwise it will be even harder for me to keep up with the birthdays.

I agree, but since you already picked him I will pick Ayers. When it comes to getting to Rodgers I think the Rams d-line has a tough day today.

Barron for the knockout.
October 11, 2015 at 9:29 am #32111PA RamParticipantI want to say Donald because they are going to have their hands full with him. But Rodgers is a smart guy–I don’t see him moving anywhere but to the outside as much as possible–maybe even before the ball is snapped. So I will go with Quinn this week.
I have a feeling blitzing could be limited this week due to Rodgers quick release and mastery of the field.

A guess: we will see a combination of blitzes, fake blitzes, and disguised coverages. Plus an exotic front or 2.
The issue will be run defense. If the Rams can limit Lacy the way they limited Bell, then all those combined head games will have a better chance.

October 11, 2015 at 9:39 am #32113nittany ramModeratorHekker.
What? It could happen.
Ya think Hekker’s skills are limited to fake punts?
It’s brilliant too because it’s the LAST thing Rodgers would suspect…well, other than the Spanish Inquisition.
No one ever suspects the Inquisition.

Hmm.
So what yer sayin, PA, is that Rodgers might cleverly start running away from the rush even before the ball is snapped?
That is something I’d like to see. It could lead to some errant snaps.

PA and I are trying to have a serious football conversation here.

I’m not sure about Rodgers, but if it was me…and I looked out and saw Aaron Donald and that Rams front four, I’d begin tap dancing my way out of the stadium before I made it out of the tunnel. But that’s me.

October 11, 2015 at 11:34 am #32145bnwBlockedSacks are good but unless they come with a fumble recovery it will be a lost cause for the Rams. What we really need to see is our secondary get multiple INTs which is not easy there. Foles needs to string some time consuming drives together.
The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

Well you got 3 out of 3. Though, you probably should have added “and get points out of it” to #3.

LOL.
Just considering the first 2, if you knew ahead of time that Rodgers would fumble plus throw 2 picks, indicating that the Packers A game wasnt on the field, it wouldn’t be a stretch to think that a W was possible in Green Bay.
Add in some long, time consuming drives which probably means that Gurley is doing some damage PLUS keeping Rodgers on the sidelines, yeah, I woulda bet on the Rams yesterday.
