Finally reviewed the Pitt game. Just a few notes.

1st Q: Brockers and Westbrooks flashed on a couple plays. The OL looked just fine. Foles dropped a ball(just dropped it for no real reason) resulting in a sack. The incompletion to Kendricks was as much Foles as Kendricks.

2cd Q: Trumaine makes a good play to stop the extra point try. Foles does well too dump the ball off on one play. Austin makes a couple good plays on dump offs to get first downs. 4th & 3, Pitt 48, good to go, bad pass. Jenkins int. 9 – 3, Rams in the game.

3rd Q: Kendricks drops TD. Foles sacked. I think Havenstein blocked the wrong guy. 4th and 6, Pitt 42, good to go, but Fisher punts. We gain 22 yrds. We maximize our points if we had gone for it all 3 times. Although any of the calls are close enough, it is not a big deal. Going for FGs is probably wrong. Here are the actual number break downs. These points happen as time becomes a factor in the 4th quarter. The exact time depends on the score difference between the teams.

4th Q: Quinn = sack, fumble. Joiner almost INT. Rams first and goal at the 7. FG, score = 9 – 6, 5:38 left. Fisher TO 3:09 left. Int by Pitt. Pitt FG, 12 – 6, 1:51 left. 4th down, no catch, game over. Calling a TO with 3:09 left is a bit early. You still have 3 left. If you wait you will probably get at least one extra play when you have the ball or at least the ability to use the middle of the field. The Rams lost on downs. It becomes a choice, would you rather have ~1:30 left with 1 TO or 1:50 left with no TOs. This isn’t a big deal, but you don’t lose anything by waiting to use that TO and you might gain something. imo
