Rams open as 7.5 point favorites.

The Chargers were tied for 8th in preseason Super Bowl odds. They’re not going to lose every game this year. And they’re coming off a bye. I hate this.

Plus… the Chargers have home field advantage, ya know. Rams gotta go on the road.

Rams and Chargers have only played 13 times. Rams lead series 7 to 6.

Last game was in 2023, Chargers won 31 to 10. Chargers had over 430 yards of offense. 192 yards rushing. Justin Herbert was 21 for 28. 119 QB rating.

Baker Mayfield was sacked 3 times.

I’m expecting a shoot-out and a very close game. Chargers coming off a bye, getting starters back.

This should not be an 0-6 team. Rams should not be 3-4. Makes you wonder what the Universe is doing, exactly.

    Chargers Areas of Potential Improvement

    • Healthier Roster: The Chargers are expected to get major reinforcements after their bye week, including starting offensive linemen Joe Alt and Kayode Awosika, along with wide receivers Brennan Thompson and Ladd McConkey.

    • Simplified Offense: Head coach Jim Harbaugh and the coaching staff are looking to strip down a complex system under offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel that has caused pre-snap penalties, route confusion, and a league-leading 15 turnovers.

    • Defensive Resilience: While the record is winless, the defense has quietly overperformed in the passing game—ranking 9th in passing yards allowed and holding star quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen without a touchdown pass earlier in the season
