    “It was my fault”- @JaredVerse1

@Rams pro bowler Jared Verse takes the blame for their loss to the Seattle
@seahawks. He says a young defense felt a sense of entitlement as the headed into the NFC Championship. Matt Stafford and the offense were everything they needed to be, but the defense didn’t respond emphatically enough when Seattle drew first blood. This one will sting for a while.

i do think verse needs to show more end product, but i still like him. just not sure he can be the centerpiece for this defense.

“He says a young defense felt a sense of entitlement as the headed into the NFC Championship.”

I have no idea what to make of that.

At any rate, the defense allowed 31, 27, 34, 38, 31, 31 in six of their last 9 games including playoffs. Six of nine games the defense must have ‘felt entitled’.

I think the secondary was light on talent, and the front four had some nagging injuries. Its fixable in one off-season. Thats the good news. Bad news, of course, is it takes a shit-load of luck to make it back to the final four. And, the NFC has some very good teams on the rise.

below is the clip. it’s a little troubling. if the defense really panicked and didn’t know what to do when they got smacked in the face, then i have to at least question leadership on this defense.

He’s saying they were a yound defense and learned a hard lesson. And if that’s true, it can be a good thing.

He’s taking responsibility. And doing it in a way that doesn’t just “give up,” he’s saying we can’t do that again, we learned a hard lesson.

But truth is, when they first met, the Rams secondary was performing. By the time of that game it was known to opponents as an exploitable weakness.

The Sonny J highlight — I have ‘never’ seen that. Damn. I cant believe I’ve never seen that highlight before.

If that highlight was well-known, you just KNOW Mahommes and some of these kid-QBs would be tryin that.

from The Athletic, NFL Power Rankings (Feb 10): https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7033954/2026/02/10/nfl-power-rankings-super-bowl-seahawks-patriots-takeaways/?campaign=16838376&source=athletic_targeted_email&userId=603890

    1. Seattle Seahawks (17-3)
    Last ranking: 1

    The takeaway: Defense is back!

This may be an exaggeration overall, but every game the Seahawks played this season against anyone but the Los Angeles Rams should have come with a parental warning for violence. Seattle led the league in both points allowed (17.2 per game) and defensive EPA (12.5 per 100 snaps), according to TruMedia. Against everyone but the Rams, those numbers improved to 15.6 and 15.

    2. Los Angeles Rams (14-6)
    Last ranking: 6

    The takeaway: The real runners-up

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the games that the Rams and Seahawks gave us this year. Seattle won two of three, and every game was a banger. The aggregate score was 88-85 in favor of the Seahawks. None of the games was decided by more than four points, and the games featured 10 lead changes. League MVP Matthew Stafford says he’s coming back next year, so expect both of his games against Seattle next year to be in prime time.

if not for that two point conversion that was possibly already blown dead, the rams are very likely superbowl champs.

    i’m sad.

    never too early

    I would put the 49ers at 5 or 6.

And the Rams are obviously #1.

Beyond that, I’m starting to think Cowherd could start to make a name for himself.
