znModeratorSymbolic of the whole game, Jagz had 13 penalties and were 2 of 6 on 4th down. Rams were 2 of 2 on 4th down & 1 was a TD.
9 different Rams caught passes, including 2 rookie TDs. The 9 includes 4 TEs.

ZooeyModeratorFinally a decisive win from beginning to end. Still, looked like the Jags beat themselves anyway. Lots of unforced errors, including the penalties, and lots of drops. Bad play-calling/clock management at the end of the half. They just look jet-lagged. I don’t know what they look like when they are playing well, but that wasn’t it. In any event, the final score is more indicative of poor Jaguar performance than Rams domination.
Looked like the Rams took their foot off the gas at 21-0, but then reasserted themselves late in the 3rd. One would expect better offensive statistics, too, considering 5 TDs. Williams only 54 yards rushing, and even with 12 carries by Corum, they did not come close to 100 yards rushing combined. Stafford threw 5 touchdown strikes, and yet only 182 yards passing? If you gave me the game stats (without including TD passes), I certainly wouldn’t have guessed a 28-point blowout, and might have guessed the Jags won if I looked at Lawrence’s yard total.
But the Rams tallied 7 sacks, played steady, largely mistake-free football in the rain, and are now 5-0 against the AFC.
Would that they were better than 0-2 against the NFC.
On to the bye week and a return in two weeks against the Saints for what is hopefully a tune-up, then SF after that to start a tough, important stretch of games against good NFC teams.

canadaramParticipantEight receptions and a TD from the TE group, recreating Puka in the aggregate to quote Brad Pitt in Moneyball. I was worried that McVay’s decision to kneel out the end of the first half would come back to haunt the Rams. Glad it worked out, but I wanted the Rams to keep the foot on the pedal at that point. The defense has given up 10 points in the last 2 road game, not to shabby. I was hoping for more from the Rams running game today.
Could’ve been related to the conditions today, but the Rams FG unit doesn’t seem to have McVay’s trust at this point. Will be interesting to see if that becomes a focus of the bye week.
Great to see 5 TDs from the old man with the bad back. When was the last time a Rams qb did that?
The last 2 years the Rams have done well post bye week, and that was with poor records. They enter this bye week at a solid 5-2. Hopefully, they keep it rolling against the Saints in 2 weeks.
Let’s go, bye week!

wvParticipantOdd game. Stafford only passes for 182 yards — but gets 5 TD passes.
Rams only get 271 yards on offense. Jags have 358.
And yet, the Rams had 5 more first downs — 26 to 21.Rams had 7 sacks. Jags had zero.
Jags had 13 penalties. I believe two of those wiped out 14 points for the Jags.
Rams had 5 penalties.Jags looked like they were out of sync all day. They fell down, dropped passes, missed open receivers.
I dunno what the hell that was. 5-2. Could be 7-0.

I disagree. Rams were not optimal at points (mostly the 3rd quarter) but they opened the game with a sack then a 3 n out then a TD drive then repeated that exact scenario to be up 14-0 by 3:09 in the 1st quarter. They wuz up-and-at-em ready to play.
Jags were out of sync, for sure. But the Rams came ready to play. Rams only went wonky in the 3rd quarter.

ZooeyModeratorI expected a QB controversy considering how well Garoppolo handled the victory formation.

wvParticipantI would like to complain about
the fact that Stafford threw a couple 1 yard TD passes. Its unmanly. The Eagles would have tush-pushed their way into the endzone.
The rams are now a finesse team.

HramParticipantI most like that they won. I also like that Davante Adams is a beast and that Stafford spread the ball around

wvParticipantStafford now leading the NFL in TD passes, with 17. Dak has 16. Goff, Mahommes, Rogers have 14.

Billy_TParticipantFinally, a dominant win! Looks like Adams and Stafford solved their connection issues.
Rams are positioned really well going into the bye.

That’s how James Harris usurped Hadl.
