    Well a great 2nd half

Williams had his best game in a while

I look forward to seeing everyone’s take

Love that the offense came alive in the second half.

Many times we’ve seen Derek Carr finish a game like that….I’m glad he did it again… had the Saints scored, I think they go for 2 against Darious Williams..

    McVay no faith in Karty…

    Good 2nd half

Jets choked today vs Seattle…but NFC West still in grasp..

    Positives:
    – Kyren had some solid runs and he seemed to hug the ball with both arms any time he anticipated contact. Old skool run on the final first down after the Saints turned th ball over on downs late.
    – Whittington’s kickoff return was great to see. I wasn’t expecting that. Even though I know that he’s a tough runner when he has the ball. Hopefully he makes progress as a receiver next season.
    – Speights played well. Not lights out or anything, but he was solid. Nice bounce back after last week. Great pick UDFA pickup.
    – Kam Curl can hit.
    – Verse can really move bodies on the bull rush.
    – DUImarcus Robinson is a nice third receiver. Pretty clutch when he needs to be.
    – The right side of the offensive line was mostly good today. Nice to have Havenstein back. I hope there’s a plan to replace him. I can’t imagine he plays much longer.
    -Corum looked good today.
-Karty didn’t miss a single PAT.
    -Nacua run tough.

    Negatives:
    – The first quarter (and today first half) offense. Why can’t they figure this out? It’s weird to see McVay seemingly not have any solutions for this issue. First time in the McVay era that they’ve been shutout in the first half. Is it related to Kupp’s drop off?
    – Williams on the TD and 2 point conversion…what was he doing?
    – Pressures yes, but no sacks. The Saints offensive line had some injuries. I was expecting more from the defense.
    – Lots of pregame talk about the Saints defense having problems covering slot receivers. Didn’t look like it was an issue today. I wonder if this is Kupp’s last year as a Ram?
    – I like Hoecht, he’s a Canadian after all, but I feel there has to be an upgrade for him. I’d like to see him stay in a reduced role.

Anyway, I like it when the Rams win but this seems like a textbook example of an average team.

Seems like the Rams lost the battles at the LOS which usually loses the game, but somehow they managed to win anyway. Stafford seemed to be under constant pressure, and the Rams got a few pressures, but nothing much.

They figured something out at halftime, and got their guys into better positions in the second half, thought it seemed to be mostly Williams.

They did enough to win it.

    Concerns:
McVay’s lack of confidence in Karty
Offense does not seem to be synced up still.
Defense still makes a lot of rookie mistakes.
Whittington at KR seems to be an unexpected find. (based on 2 returns)

Still, hoping the 9ers and Bills inflict multiple season-ending injuries on one another. Nothing serious, but… you know…high ankle sprains, and the like.

    Offense.

    OL
    They played ok,
This was supposed to be the starting Lineup in the opening season,
With the exception of our rookie center in place of J. Jackson.

This is the first game playing together in this combination,
They play ok, they still need continuity in the pass protection.
Giving up 2/sacks and 6/QB Hits.

Did great in the run game opening up some nice holes for our RBs,
Helping the RB get 156 yds on the ground and 1/TD avg. 5.4yds/carry

Stafford didn’t have big numbers as for stats in this game,
    But made some nice throws.
    24/att, 14/cmp, for 58.3% cmp, 183yd, with 2/TD QB Rating 110.2,
Add another 4th quarter game winning drive to his numbers.

    RB Williams had a nice run game, 15/carries, 104yds, 6.9 avg, 1/TD
While RB Corum did a nice job backing up with, 8/carries, 42yds 5.3 avg.

Puka had 5/rec, for 56yds and 1/TD, but made a nice layout catch for a first down.
D Rob just keeps on catching TDs, had 1/TD for today.

The RAMs did a lot better on third down conversions.
    3rd 4-9 at 44.4%
    4th 1-2 at 50%

    Defense

    Our DL was ok
0/sacks, 3/QB Hits, not a lot of pressure.

But I’m going to give Verse a sack at the end of the game on 4th down,
The league should review that play and give him the sack,
he knocked the ball out of the QBs hand before his arm was moving forward.

The DL didn’t play well against the run, gave up 143yds in the run game.
But the RAMs did well as a whole in the passing game, only giving up 184yds.

They kept the 3rd down conversion low,
    3rd 5-15 33.3%
    4th 2-3 66.7%
And Red zone efficiency was 0-2 0%

    ST
Whittington did great on the KR game, 3/att, 100, 33.3 avg.
and got one called back from a penalty.

    Karty hit all 3 XP
Evans had two punts inside the 20yd line out of three attempts.

Our ST defense kept KR & PR to zero yds.

Overall, it was a good game.

Maddeningly sluggish starts have been the Rams’ MO this season, so I wasn’t surprised it took the offense awhile to get on track, but letting the Rams end their NFL record streak of not being shut out in the first half of 129 consecutive games is inexcusable – not that I knew that was a thing prior to the announcers mentioning it…

I have more to say, but the Mrs just got back and wants to take me to lunch so it’ll have to wait.

Rams at 6-6. Game behind Seattle.

    Bills at LA
    49ers
    Jets
    Cards at LA
    Seahawks at LA
    ===

Intriguing schedule. I certainly see zero reason to trust this Ram team, but there is a path to the division title there. They can still take it. Or they can finish Last.

I think the 49ers have the inside track on last place, though. They have lost Aiyuk for the year, and possibly McCaffrey. Purdy has a problem with his shoulder. Then they have

    CHI
    Rams
    @ MIA
    DET
    @ AZ

    I think they’re done.

Arizona, meanwhile, has it comparatively easy:

    SEA
    NE
    @ CAR
    @ Rams
    49ers

I think we have to hope Seattle beats the Cards again because I think they will be favorites against NE, CAR, and SFO.

    Seattle has

    @ AZ
    GB
    MN
    @ CHI
    @ Rams

and that doesn’t look real good for them. They could beat Arizona twice this season, and still lose out on the division.

The Rams have a decent pathway to win the division, and if they don’t win it, then they have no business being in the playoffs anyway. Winning 10 games is possible, and a decent playoff team should be able to accomplish that. If they can’t win 4 of the last 5, then we’ll be discussing draft needs.

Like everyone here, I’m happy for the win, and the 49ers continued troubles. It will tell us a ton about the Rams if they can go toe to toe against Buffalo next, one of the elite teams in the league. Glad it’s at home, and hope it’s on here locally. Should be a great game . . .

puka handing the ball to jackson after the td.

want the rams to finish 10-7. i think they can. regardless if they make the playoffs or not.
