Week 10: Monday Night Football! Dolphins at Rams
The 3 week winning streak has given us life … onto getting the 4th win.
Dolphins are currently 2-6, but they gave the Bills some troubles last week before losing the game. Rams are only 2.5 favorites at home.
Rams have played the Dolphins 14 times and have only won twice (1976 & 2001).

The Dolphins should have beaten the Cards and the Bills. They outplayed both of them, in which case they would be 4-4 and right back in the hunt like the Rams are.
Now, at 2-6, the pundits are saying their season is over, but I doubt the players feel that way.
The Rams have lost to far worse Dolphin teams than this one.
November 7, 2024 at 12:51 pm #153122canadaramParticipantPardon my lousy analysis that is based in nothing, but I feel like recently the Dolphins have had the Rams number. Meaningless, I know because they don’t play each other that often and the Rams have had different coaches and rosters during that time. However, the Dolphins receivers seem like a matchup problem for the Rams secondary. If they are able to get a bunch of quick/short completions to mitigate the Rams young and effective pass rush, I can see the Dolphins offense having a good night. I still don’t know what to make of the Rams offense right now. Would not surprise me to see the Dolphins win this one.

maybe “the Rams have lost to far worst teams than the Dolphins” have thus far…. but the Rams have beaten better teams than the Dolphins have……
RAMS Wins = SF, Vikings in Minnesota and Seahawks in Seattle)
Miami actual Wins = vs the power-house Patriots and Jags…
In addition, you can argue that the Rams should’ve won in Detroit (OT) and in Chicago….
Rams can’t go back to giving up big plays like they did early this season…

I mean the Rams have lost to Dolphin teams worse than this year’s Dolphin team.
The Rams have made a habit out of losing to this franchise, and some of those losses have been to really bad teams.

Oh, thank goodness. I was beginning to think I was the only Rams fan on this board. I feel like I stepped into some kind of weird Dolphin orgy here.

That happened to me at Sea World once. I accidentally slipped and fell into their tank.

I dont think captive-dolphin-orgies have anything to do with the rams red zone problems.
I want that on the record.

For the record, I don’t hear you lamenting that.
But that’s none of my business.

November 8, 2024 at 12:01 pm #153170znModeratorThe Miami Dolphins will be a much tougher out than their measly 2-6 record suggests, especially considering their offensive strengths matchup well with the weaknesses on defense for the Los Angeles Rams.
Miami excels at exploiting vulnerabilities
It’s difficult to know exactly who the Dolphins are offensively this season because of injuries at the QB position. Miami has turned to Skylar Thompson, Tim Boyle, and Tyler Huntley at times after Tua Tagovailoa was injured in the second game.
In the three games where Tua was healthy, Miami was mostly a pass heavy team on the surface. I’ll note further down how the straight run-pass numbers can be skewed because of a non-traditional usage of running backs in the passing game that act as an extension of the run game, but still, for a team led by a head coach known for his adept running concepts the Dolphins are more of an aerial assault group this season.
Whatever you don’t do well, Miami will identify that weakness and attack it over and over.
They are willing to hand the ball off more than 40 times. They’ve done so with their primary QB out and to lower the degree of difficulty for backup signal callers. If they need to air it out, they seem perfectly happy to lean on a high volume passing attack as well.
