Defense up sometimes and way down others. Pass D is a bit better. Missed tackles still the monster that haunts the D. Stafford was a bit off this game…though they were driving at the end and had a chance.

Not a win, but, I think most people expected worse.

    1st qtr…. 4th and 4 at the GB 4. kick the damn FG. …

Rams red zone passing game not working…. these WR can’t get open…

Rams played like they wanted to lose this game in the 3rd qtr…

a win would’ve been nice … SF and SEA lost

    Rams blew it.

Stafford’s inconsistent play was disappointing. This receiving corps probably isn’t doing him any favours though. Not that I think the receivers are terrible, but it can’t be easy when your best options aren’t playing. Parkinson just isn’t good enough to be featured as much as is in this offense.

The tackling on defense remains pretty bad.

Nice to see Corum play, but it looks like he wears size 5 shoes. Maybe that was just something weird with my tv, but I just can’t past how small his feet looked on my screen.

I think the Rams are going to be in a good position to draft a decent QB early in the draft. It will be interesting to see if that’s the direction they decide to go. They need to find some cornerbacks too.

Nice to be able to see the whole game.

I think the Rams are lacking team cohesion right now. I think they lost the heart of the team on defense with Donald and haven’t replaced that heart yet. And they miss Ernest Jones. On offense, the heart is on IR. Puca and Cooper, basically. Avila is a huge loss as well.

Anyway, bright spots, off the top of me head: Kyren running well, and Whittington looking like a solid depth guy for the wideout room. Verse shows a lot of promise, but still needs to learn how to set the edge, as Romo said. I think they’re a lot better than their record, but they need guys to heal up and fast.

The Rams are 1 – 4.  As bad as that is, they are no worse off than they were last year when they went into their bye-week at 3 – 6.  They are now, as they were last season, entering their bye at 3 games below 0.500. Like last season I think they can still make a run, depending on the play of the defense.

I think the offense will be fine and the red zone scoring woes may be alleviated when Kupp and Nacua are back.

But to make a run after the bye like last year will be more difficult given the state of the defense.  The pass rush is good but the run defense and secondary are huge weaknesses right now.  How much of that is fixable this season is hard to say, but they won’t be serious playoff contenders without a lot of improvement.

Well one thing has gotten better on defense. With White out and Williams back (and with Witherspoon and Durant playing too), pass D looks to be better.

First 4 games, Rams were 32nd in yards per attempt allowed, with 8.1.

Yesterday the Rams allowed 7.0 per attempt, which if ranked against all teams in the first 4 games, would have been been 16th. Which. You know. Is half of 32.

    The actual snap count:

    Jim Youngblood 53@53_jim70721
    CB snaps – Durant 95%, Spoon 81% Williams 49%

Well, as bad as they are right now, I must say, I’m pleased with how hard they have fought in all these games, except the one.   I really dont know how or why 4 of the 5  games have been so close.

They do have a lot of spirit and toughness.

I get the impression Stafford is getting frustrated, with the pressure and lack of topnotch-weapons.   Pressure and lack-of weapons.   Not a good combo.

To go from Kupp, Nacua, Higby to this….mediocre/young WR/TE crew has to be frustrating.

Stafford has always been a gunslinger, but when he ‘presses’ it can be problematic, to state the obvious.

And this is a recipe for a pocket QB to press, and, to get hurt.

As bad as the record is (and will be) there are plenty of good pieces on this team.   This year was always gonna be about health.   Sigh.

    Oct 20 – Raiders

    Oct 24 – Vikings.

    Nov 3 – Seahawks.

i thought turner was impressive. williams, whittington, kyren williams…

but some bad errors. kyren fumble. stafford interception. and the offense is too injured to overcome errors.

it’s gonna be a long season.
