Chomsky trended yesterday on the false news of his death, and I saw a few clips of interviews with him over the years, most of them familiar. But one notable thing about Chomsky that I don’t remember anyone commenting on over all our years together is how completely unflappable he is. He never loses his patience regardless of the heat on the other side, or the frequent interruptions. He just lets the interviewer interrupt him, and he always listens very carefully and attentively to other people. I have never seen him get on a soapbox and just preach. He’s kind of amazing.
