I mean, can you imagine the Bengals thinking about this game all offseason? The Rams got to the end without Woods, OBJ and Higbee, and couldn’t run the ball, and they STILL got beat by Cooper Kupp. And that’s a compliment to Kupp (and Stafford).

One person who probably will get lost in all of this, and shouldn’t be, is A’Shawn Robinson. What a monster today.

    Howard Balzer@HBalzer721
after 75-yard TD, Bengals totaled 75 yards on 31 plays for the remainder of the game

Joe Burrow was sacked 6 times for 35 lost yards in second half

A lot of people called Stafford a lot of things

Y’all gonna call him a Super Bowl Champion and a Hall of Famer now

Flames for everyone tomorrow on TV.

    Brady Henderson@BradyHenderson
How much differently will Matthew Stafford be viewed now? He was 0-3 in the playoffs over his first 12 seasons with Detroit, a stat monster with a massive hole in his resume. Then he led three game-winning drives in the Rams’ playoff run, including this one tonight to win

I firmly believe if OBJ didn’t get hurt we blow them out of the water. They couldn’t stop Odell man

    Nick Wagoner@nwagoner
When #Rams coach Sean McVay saw Bengals in the shotgun before that final fourth down play he said out loud Aaron Donald is gonna close the game out. Donald did. McVay just now: “Aaron Donald is the F’IN man.”

McVay was mic’d up so this should be verifiable soon.

The Rams won the Super Bowl.

And I am happy about it.

Bengals were there all night long but in the end 3 – 14 on 3rd down, 1 – 3 on 4th and 7 sacks allowed will get you beat almost every time. Rams had more experience, more playmakers and Cooper Kupp and that was enough.

The Rams’ seven sacks ties the Super Bowl record. Von Miller, who has two, was on the Broncos team that had seven of Cam Newton and the Panthers.

    JP Acosta@acosta32_jp
Aaron Donald pulling Semaje Perine back to set up 4th and 1 might have been the play of the game

    Thomas Shelby@ramsfan1987
One thing that gets forgotten about is that Von had a monumental impact on this defense.

Not only as an experienced leader, but once he saw Burrow having a pocket to step into with everyone overrunning it, he starting spinning back inside. You can’t teach that stuff.

    RAMZILLA@elitster
Rams -2 in turnovers. Lose OBJ. Blanton 3rd TE lost. Weddle with pec rupture. Still find a way to win. It’s incredible.

    SeattleRams@seattlerams_nfl
You know who else deserves a ton of credit? Brycen Hopkins, and the Rams coaching staff for making sure so many players are prepared to step in once injury happens.

After Blanton went down, Hopkins caught 4 for 47.

    Rams Wire@TheRamsWire
The Rams’ win probability was only 21% midway through the 4th quarter and only 36% before their game-winning drive

    Booger@ESPNBooger
    7 sacks 18 pressures

    Cameron DaSilva@camdasilva
Cooper Kupp this postseason (4 games)

    42 targets
    33 catches
    478 yards
    6 TDs
    1 Super Bowl MVP

    Tom@TL_LARams
Matthew Stafford tied the record for most 4th quarter comebacks in a single playoffs with 3. He would have set the record with 4, but the Arizona Cardinals couldn’t make the wildcard round game competitive

    Talib praising McVay, and AD.

Says the Rams traded him ‘like a man’, Rams dont knit-pick about silly dress codes, etc.

This is the first super bowl in my life where I would have been genuinely happy no matter who won, both teams played their hearts out, and it was a wonderful game.

Matthew Stafford throwing to Brycen Hopkins, Darrell Henderson, and Ben Skowronek last night in SB56:

    14 targets – 9 receptions – 102 yards

Those players in the 6 games from Week 16 through the NFC Championship, combined:

    5 targets – 2 receptions – 18 yards (all Skowronek)

Who’s the lineman that grabbed Aaron Donald’s facemask and sent 99 into a rage for the rest of the 3rd and 4th quarter? I wanna send him a gift basket

    Tom@TL_LARams

Prior to the Super Bowl, Brycen Hopkins had 1 career catch for 9 yards. It came against Seattle with the team ravaged by COVID.
In the Super Bowl, with the Rams missing TEs due to injury, Hopkins caught all 4 of his targets for 47 yards. 3 went for first downs.

    Rams24/7@Rams24_7
That game winning drive can go head to head with any other in SB history. Also consider the deleted depth at WR and TE made it that much tougher. That drive (& these playoffs) will go a long way towards Staff getting into the HOF

    Axel Kopun@FV_Mylia_Lynn¡
Kupp & AD should’ve been co-MVPs. If they were going w/ only 1, which they did, upon reflection it should’ve been AD. His sack on 3rd down after the tipped INT held the Bengals to 3. His run stuff on 3rd & 2 & then the play to seal the win on 4th down that final possession= MVP

    Soul Snatching Stafford@Giruzzi
If OBJ doesn’t get injured I firmly believe this game isn’t remotely close…

Peter King article on the super bowl

Good one. I agree with Peter King on all of that. We see it the same way, even about the Bengals. Colin Cowherd put it like this: the Bengals are like a 6th seed in the NCAA tournament that wins a few games at the buzzer, but ends up in the final against Duke, and the magic runs out.

Man, imagine if the Rams had Higbee, Woods, and Beckham.

    Here’s a Cincinnati view: https://www.cincyjungle.com/2022/2/15/22933100/bengals-tuesday-trenches-they-are-who-we-thought-they-were-super-bowl-56

One thing jumped out at me in particular:

    • The offensive line did a good job keeping Burrow clean over the majority of the first half, but as soon as the Rams figured out how to get Aaron Donald one-on-one by sending Von Miller inside, the dam broke. It was only a matter of time before it happened. Unfortunately, it stopped the Bengals from scoring any points over their final five drives of the game. They had not gone five drives without scoring all season. You can’t do that in a game and expect to win.
