    Rams 34
    Cards 11

It didn’t even seem that close.

    Focus on Tampa…

Rams are 2-0 vs Bucs in playoff games.

Rams are 0-2 vs Brady in playoff games.

Lots of good things to discuss, but I’m too tired. Before I go to bed, I will say that A’Shawn Robinson was impressive. He was active and intense. I never talk about A’Shawn, so I thought that I would give him his props. I think that he will be pleased knowing this

Great win. Rams are an NFC-final-four team, as they should be.

    Its been a ‘good year.’

But can they do better than ‘good year’ ?

Saw a stat, btw. Most years before a playoff win:
    Brodie, Deberg 14 years.
Stafford, Tarkenton, Morrall – 13 years.

Cam Akers was such a big loss. I had no expectation of him
making back 100 percent ‘next’ year, let alone ‘this’ year.

Stafford looked like he was consciously — very very consciously – trying
NOT to make any dum passes. …but there was that long pass that
should have been an INT. Sigh.

OBJ is just ‘different’ than any other Ram WR i can remember.
He doesnt seem like he quite fits the usual ram-model. Its not his route-running
that sets him apart, its more like his ‘spring-ee-ness,’ bouncy-ness, strength,
and hands. Woulda been awesome if Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp and OBJ were ALL
    out there. Ah well.

    Some great games coming up.

The Rams played mostly played mistake-free on offense, and the defense put in its best showing of the year. The game was over when Murray pulled a Stafford (a feeble version of Stafford) and lobbed a jump ball to nobody. Both Murray’s and Kingsbury’s faces showed they had already moved from denial to depression.

That was only the 2nd time I’ve seen Donald completely lose his cool, and there were sparks earlier in the game. I suspect that Cardinal guy was doing something dirty because Donald gets held on every play, and he’s used to that. So I’d like to know what happened there.

It was fun to experience an anxiety-free playoff game for the first time in a while. The Cardinals in negative yardage well into the 2nd quarter was just exactly what I needed this weekend.

Roman Gabriel didn’t make that list… he has ZERO playoff wins. (0-2)

Of that list, only Earl Morrall won a Championship……. he won twice…

    Great game.

Stafford was efficient and didn’t make any dumb mistakes. That makes a massive difference. Plus, 3 of his 4 incompletions should have been caught imo. Higbee flat out dropped one and the other 2 were catchable.

Our lines were better than their lines. That helps a little. 🙂

    Akers, unbelievable.

Secondary played okay. As long as they don’t get burned, with our pass rush, that should be good enough.

Murray had a horrible game, that also helps.

Mid season acquisitions making a difference. I like to see that!

Waddle gave a hilarious post game interview you can find on YouTube. He is a character.

Glad this wasn’t a slugfest. Makes recovery easier.

Need to beat up on TBs Oline to win the next game.

BTW…neither Stafford no Kupp shined especially. They played well, but they didn’t star, really.

The Rams put together a good, all-around win yesterday.

I said it during the game but the combo of Beckham and Kupp is the Rams best duo since Bruce and Holt.

I know what you’re saying about Beckham, but to me what sets him massively apart is his hands. He may be the best pure Rams “hands” catcher I have seen, though Bruce and Holt and Ellard were obviously good too.

Beckham just has magic hands. Plus he goes after the ball fiercely when he has a chance at it. He’s not physical as a receiver yet he wins contested catches.

I mentioned 5 receivers in this post. Isn’t that interesting? We think of the Rams as having long glorious lists of great pass rushers, great O-linemen, and great RBs. But they have a lot of great WRs in their history too.

Yeah, Brandin Cooks had over a thousand yards for the rams, but i never
really trusted his hands in traffic, or if the ball was high.

But OBJ is a guy i might throw it to even if the DB wall all over him.

Still…i dunno if OBJ/Kupp is better than Robert Woods/Kupp. I dunno.

I like Woods, a lot. He is good at a lot of different things. With the ball in his hands, he has the vision and sense of space you find in RBs. I would never disparge him or underestimate him. But I also think Beckham just has some elite traits. I think he has some traits that are a higher level that even Ellard, Bruce, and Holt. As I said I think his hands are magic special. And his “vertical vision” and “vertical timing” (if I can coin those terms) is special.

I didnt realize you hated Ellard, Bruce and Holt so much.

Why dont you hate on Harold Jackson and Jack snow
    while you’re at it.

Hard to believe, after watching that game, that we lost to the Cards in the regular season. Also harder to believe we lost to the 9er’s last week. WTF?

I think the Rams give Father Time a little help and end the TB12 Playoff run.

My hope is the 9er’s beat GB and we come back to LA for the NFC Title Game, but if we have to go to GB, so be it.

After yesterday, I’m thinking the Rams can beat anybody.

I agree with the Beckham observations. I just have to wonder what Kupp, Woods, and Beckham would look like, and I hope we get to see that next year. Beckham is a keeper, that is for sure. Magic hands is right. I’d like to see him develop as a blocker, but he’s a unique and special receiver. He has shown it here and there, but last night against the Cards, he had several plays. Very memorable night for Mr. OBJ.

And how about Kupp? He does it all the time, but I still can’t believe how often he does it. That little pass where he was nailed down on the sideline, and just did this quick tornado move, and moved like a cat to pick up an additional 10 yards…brilliant. The Rams have never had a YAC guy like him before, either. Just ridiculous. And my son made the observation that Kupp led the league in YAC as well, so he’s really the Quadruple Crown winner. Goodness.

I share those sentiments, exactly. I think the Rams can beat TB, and I’m okay with a trip to GB. I think that loss to SF woke them up to fight complacency. And they CAN beat anybody.

Problem is, every team left is capable of beating every team left, too.

    But… let’s do this.

I think Kupp, woods and OBJ would be as good, with Higbee and Akers would rival the gsot.

I would like to see that next year.

For this year, I believe they have a decent chance in every game.
