Just picked up on something. To begin the game, they had Troy Re*der out there as the single LB in 5-1 fronts. Second half onward, it was Ernest Jones instead.

Not sure if it was injury-related or not, but Re*der had a bruuuutal game. Guessing it was performance-related.

It of course is not the same game as last week. But as last week, it’s pretty clear that, if Stafford makes mistakes early on and turns the ball over, and Rams are up against any team that can control the ball and clock, they have not shown ability to adjust/compose themselves.

One thing about Stafford that weā€™ll absolutely discuss on the pod ā€” while he has all the talent in the world, you still have to build an offense around him.

Think McVay fell in love with his talent/experience and forgot some of the intricate details that makes his offense great.

Man, see people going after our raw rookie CB now, like Rochell was supposed to step in from Central Arkansas & be a shut down corner, lol. Rams screwed around & drafted a tiny WR & signed the diva DJax instead of fortifying the CB position, but yeah, blame the raw rookie CB

The 49ers ran the ball over and over and over against the Rams, yet Elijah Mitchell faced a loaded box (8+ defenders) just 7.41% of the time, according to Next Gen Stats.

3rd-lowest rate in the NFL for Week 10.

Light boxes were a staple of Brandon Staley’s defense last year but at some point…adjust.

Rams were down 21-3 at half…..Goff rallied them back put them in position to win in Buffalo. Bogus 4th and 9 PI gave the Bills victory.

    Oct 28 2020
    49ers 24
    Rams 16

2 TDs and 1 pick for Goff, not enough for Rams.

Nov 1, Goff and Special teams sucked….
    Rams 17
    Miami 28

    STAFFORD CAN”T WIN BIG GAMES.

Are you folks still enamored with Stafford?????? Stafford = Jeff George…. err maybe more like Norn Snead…

Rams are stuck with Bozo the clown at QB>

    I gave Goff 5 or 6 years.

    I’ll give Stafford a couple.

I will say that I am less impressed than I hoped to be. Like Goff, he makes some WTF throws, and misses reads. And he has not “risen to the occasion” at any time. But I’m not ready to write him off, either. I think he’s better than Goff, but that margin of difference is more slender – so -far – than I expected.

Sean McVay is 50-24 as head coach of the #Rams. Against Kyle Shanahan, heā€™s 3-6.

25% of his losses have come against Shanahan.

    Cameron DaSilva@camdasilva
According to Next Gen Stats, Jimmy Garoppolo averaged the 2nd-quickest time to throw (2.3s) of his career Monday night.

Tough to get pressure on the QB when he’s throwing it so quickly.

Matt Stafford’s wife, Kelly, is apologizing for chucking a pretzel at a fan during the Rams vs. 49ers game … calling it all a “weak moment.”

Some of yuuz guyz are a lot tougher on Stafford than I am. To me, he’s only played one bad game: the Titan game.

The SF game was about the run defense for me. 19-play drives, etc.
Staffords ‘INT’ to Higby was a good pass. His INT to OBJ was not a great
decision, but i basically put it down as miscommunication with a new WR.
Ended up being a punt, essentially. Etc, and so forth.

Losing Akers was huge. Losing Woods was huge. The Oline may be
    wearing down.

It would take a great offense to overcome a porous run defense.
Rams dont have a great offense.

Looks like another wild-card kind of year for McVay.
Pretty good team, but not top-five.

I’ve been kinda harsh on Stafford too, and maybe that’s not fair. I just don’t see the kind of accuracy, especially on deep passes, that I remember from his Detroit days. I’ve recently read he has back problems, and that makes me think that may be the reason for his underwhelming passing. Anyone who has back issues knows how painful it can be. It’s not something you can just tough it out. That’s always been the football mentality, but a bad back is a different animal. It can be bad enough to where you literally can’t move.

Ankle issues too. So much about passing is foot placement. So both of those together?

Anyway . . . there are other problems with the Rams, of course, and I think the lack of SJD is huge as well. I’ve always thought the Rams should have invested in a monster DT long ago, a Vita Vea type who can just play the unmovable object in the middle, thus freeing up Donald even more.

Hopefully, they figure all of this out, and make their “all in” strategy work. One thing seems certain to me, though: they have to change their offensive and defensive schemes. What they’re doing isn’t working. One possible curve ball? Play Perkins now and then. Shut gun set with the options of taking off or passing.

Staffordā€™s has come back to the pack the last couple weeks, but by any statistical measure heā€™s still one of the top three QBā€™s in the league.

Neither INT against the 9ā€™ers was his fault. The first one was picked because OBJ quit on the route, and the second one bounced out of Higbeeā€™s hands.

Did OBJ ‘quit on the route’ or was he running a
    different/shallower route than stafford expected?

    I dunno.

One of the blabber guys on TV said he quit, but I just don’t think that’s nearly as likely as the explanation that those two guys aren’t on the same page yet.

And like you said, it was a punt. They were back inside their 10-yard line after that, and for them to turn that TO into 7 points is on the defense, ffs. The 9ers have 5 90-yard drives this season, and 2 of those were against the Rams. I mean… it was just disgusting.

I don’t know how much it’s fair to blame Morris, but as of now, he reminds me more of Larry Marmie than Brandon Staley.

A punt??? Who punts on 2nd and 8 with all those weapons???

Did you folks watch the AZ game?

How many QBs have you seen throw a pick followed by a pick 6 on the very next drive ON BACK-TO-BACK WEEKS????? THATS TONY BANKS ROOKIE SEASON SHIT!!!!

I know I know… Goff is winless without McVay… 0-14…. .. (coincidentally Stafford 14 games under .500 without McVay) but Goff has put a shitty Lions team with a rookie coach in position to win vs the Ravens, Vikes, and in Pittsburgh

BTW When was the last time you seen Stafford roll out? he rarely does because he can’t.

But I guess you guys are right, can’t be too critical of QB who is 9-70+ vs teams with winning records.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!! The Rams will not have the ability to pick a first rounder until??????? and will use their second round picks for players named TUTU…..
