Tough loss. Some stuff to fix. Stafford off and pressing under pressure, the OL off, the playcalling off. Don’t know how much I put on the defense cause 14 points go straight to offensive mistakes.

McVay should have started in the 2nd quarter, with Stafford rolling out. It was not working in the first quarter, and got worse in the 2nd, where the Titans took advantage. We had to play way behind, which isn’t good.

    You summed it up well.

Only thing to add, Titans defense came to play.

    O-line got whupped.

The pressure turned Stafford into Wentz. MVP waived bye-bye.

It’s not something to worry about though. The Titans didn’t expose some heretofore hidden fatal flaw.

The Rams will fix it and move on.

Yeah, i was afraid that would happen – physical butt-kicking.

Could be a valuable learning experience, though. Could be
they just have trouble with a physical bullying team. We’ll see.

Lots of what happened is correctable. Whats not correctable is an
OLine that cant hold up to a defense like the Titans.

If they played again, I would not bet against the Rams,
but I still think it would be a very close game.

Same problem last year. There were a few times last year where the OL just got handled. I was saying all along that this year’s OL is better than last year’s…but they backslid. So who knows if it’s really better.

Yup. Same problem. But luckily they drafted Tutu instead
of an OLineman, so I am optimistic.

    That was not… good.

WV, who cares bout draft picks? Draft picks are for losers. Am I right?

The personal fouls are unacceptable. The real penalties. Because you never know when you’re going to get one because the official is an idiot. AD roughed the passer? Even Terry M. said “that’s not roughing the passer”. Pretty bad.

But that didn’t lose us the game. Taking too long to adjust to what they were doing….just like the Miami game…..that’s what lost us the game. Well that and two bad interceptions. When your defense gives up less than 200 yards, you gotta win. Hold them to 3.5 yards per play. You gotta win.

They had a 64 yard TD drive in the first half, aided by 20 yards of penalities. And 30 yards on 5 other possessions. Too bad one of them started at our 2. They had a 58 yard TD drive in the second half aided by 30 yards of penalties, 15 of which was totally bogus. They had 62 yards on 3 other possessions. I’ll tell you the one thing I can take from this game. Our defense is getting better and it only stands to get even better with VM.

Our offense scored 16 points and gave up 14. They had 194 yards of offense on 10 drives and scored 21. We had an 162 yards of offense on 3 drives and scored 3. Best to make the offense watch the film and don’t let the defense see it. There may be hard feelings.

    Game 9 analysis, okay, so … she’s a dog.

I was a wrestler in high school. We had a seriously good coach and team … sent 9/14 varsity kids to state and late most kids I wrestled with won or placed in state.
I never made it past JV because everyone around me was a monster. But on JV, I learned something that I’ve carried with me. I could beat anyone, basically. But I came upon a kid in a tournament, and he was not really a good wrestler. But he was wayyyyyy stronger than me. He was a freshman varsity running back who wanted to wrestle. he could squat 500 lbs.

He beat me sideways. He didn’t even know what he was doing. I used fancy moves and he just threw me off like I was a fly. This is what just happened. You cannot account for being overmatched in strength without altering your gameplan. If I had known how strong he was I would have altered my approach.

Maybe McVay knew, maybe he didn’t. But we saw the result. I can’t remember the last time I saw a DT other than Donald get sacks in one game, much less one half, so I’m gonna credit Simmons here with having a great game.

Also?I didn’t watch the 3rd quarter at all.

    The Great

    1) That this happened now rather than in the playoffs or super bowl.

    The Good

    2) Ramsey makes plays every week that blow my mind.Thinking about the TFL.

    3) Henderson getting ypc … so also run blocking.

    4) AJ Brown not tearing us up. That’s not what beat us, at least.

    5) Higbee being solid.

    6) Our defense did okay. I wasn’t sad about THAT.

    The Bad

    7) Until Stafford cleans up his misfires, he’ll be here.

    8) Trading for Miller and not having Miller.

    9) Having two TEs open one TD.

    10) Watching Tannehill finger roll after watching an entire segment on ESPN on his finger rolls. Did no one the staff watch that? Do we need to suggest that McVay hires someone to watch Sportscenter?

    11) Ernest on the Tannehill TD.

    12) Kickoff returns. I don’t know what to say here, what was our starting field position?

    The Ugly

    13) Oh lordy that pass.

    14) Oh lordy that pick 6.

    15) Our O line, specifically the interior. Wow. Rough night guys.

    16) Getting our butts beat at home in prime time.

    17) Penalties. I can’t believe how many.
