he got robbed. but i guess playing on an all-time great offense has hurt him a little bit. playing alongside faulk, warner, pace, and bruce maybe people just don’t notice you as much. plus he kind of tailed off at the end due to injuries.

i think he’ll eventually get in. he has to.

I would have thought he would get there before Calvin Johnson.

I think IR is right. The problem is that he played with a lot of other HoFers.

in defense of johnson, i’d say he deserves it more than holt. don’t get me wrong. i love holt. they both should have gotten in this year.

but if you were to ask me if i could pick between the two of them to start on my own football team, i’d pick megatron every single time.

for the nickname alone. megatron is a hall of fame worthy nickname. big game not so much. hahahaha! the most physically gifted wide receiver ever. it’s not even close. and i realize a lot of getting into the hall of fame is based on career achievements as well. otherwise alex barron would be a hall of fame offensive tackle. but johnson just had the misfortune of being drafted by the lions.

As long as they continue to snub Massey,
I will continue to boycott all
    Hall of Fames.

torry holt making the hof would be a proper final chapter to one of the best offenses the nfl has ever seen.

Not too many better combos in NFL history, on the outside, than Bruce and Holt. And, of course, the Rams didn’t stop there. The only thing they lacked, really, to make the other team just concede before the kickoff was a great tight end. Throw in a Kelce, Gonzalez, or a Billy Truax, and the Greatest Show on Turf would have turned into a full-on circus of horrors for opposing teams.

Holt should have made it, and this must has pissed off SanfRAM to no end. He was a huge Holt fan from Day One.

    There’s always next year.

Yeah, you’re probably right. I pulled up their statistics right before I said that, and they are pretty similar, and because Holt is older, helped when a SB, and had the best statistics of any WR ever over the first – whatever – decade, I think – of his career, I said that. But if one had to choose between Holt and Johnson for my team, I think I would also take Johnson. The numbers don’t tell the whole story, and I kind of ignored that.

that 2001 Super Bowl will loom large in Holt getting in…. that’s a shame.

    Drew Pearson got in…..

      Drew Pearson:

    156 Games
    99 average yards per game
    489 Receptions
    7822 Yards
    16 Yards per catch
    48 TDs

      Torry Holt:

    173 Games
    123 avg yards per game
    920 receptions
    13383 yards
    14.5 yards per catch
    74 TDs

Henry Ellard 814 rec 13,777 16.9avg 65tds throw in 1527 more and 4tds returning punts
and 364 returning kickoffs giving him 15,718 total basically doubling Pearson’s output.

Ellard should’ve been in before Bruce or Holt were eligible Bruce should’ve been a first ballot
HOF Holt and Megatron should’ve been in this year and Pearson should be running a camp for pushing off
    and getting away with it.
