Great comeback. Too bad it fell short. The defense needs to improve. imo Good game for Henderson. Goff looks better this year. imo

    that missed fg really hurts.

defense has to get better. donald is the best, but he can’t do it all himself. my hope is that lewis can make an impact. he’s got the physical ability but can he stay healthy? i hope to see jonah williams at some point too.

ebukam stinks. he’s not good enough.

This feels a lot like the Rams-Titans regular season game of 99. Tough road loss that left me feeling that the Rams were the better team and legitimate Super Bowl contenders.

Something’s gotta give with Sloman. I don’t have the coping skills to handle this version of him. Can he improve? Solid second half makes me feel good about the rest of the team.

I’m pissed. We were robbed. That pass interference call was bogus. Darrius Williams had a right to the position.

    It was brutal…

    Rams had that game…

But Goff, McVay and the Rams are still great

Two long east coast trips in a row. Difficult.

Before the season began, I would have been happy with 2-1.

I wish the Rams had won today.

Hacking up the 3rd and 22 was a killer. That is what sticks with me now more than the pass interference penalty. Yeah, that PI should not have been called. The final time I saw it, it looked like it could have been call offensive PI, actually, but there should not have been a flag on that either way. But that 3rd and 22 was…you have to make that stop.

I don’t like the lack of pass rush this year so far, although they did suddenly start getting it in the 4th quarter. And giving up 4.8 yds/carry has to change. Then there were multiple blown coverages. The defense just did not play well until the 4th quarter, and didn’t look good against Philly, either.

The offense looks pretty good, though. Goff still isn’t good under pressure, but their rushing attack is looking solid, and that gives Goff more time in the pocket. One thing I find encouraging about the OL, though, is that they held Goff up pretty well even when the Bills were in a position to play the pass because the Rams HAD to throw. No Van Jefferson siting today, but Reynolds made his presence felt. Kupp and Woods are just…like…good WRs to have on the team.

Sloman is going to cost the Rams a game. I had more confidence in that bartender guy.

They shoulda won that game, but that was an affordable loss, and posting a comeback like that has to be good for the confidence of the team. If there is such a thing as a good loss, that was it. Nobody got hurt. It was against the AFC. Back-to-back looooong road trips. Inspiring comeback, not just by the offense, but by the defense, too, until the last drive. Given it was 28-3 halfway through the 3rd quarter, I will take that outcome. It was looking far, far worse.

I only watched the ten-minute hi-lite vid. Sigh.

I dunno. Three games in, its still too early to say much.

But I’ll say this — it doesnt look like a Super-Bowl Team. It just doesnt. Not like the 99 Rams or the other ring-teams over the years.

But it does look like a well-coached, dangerous team. Certainly, could be a playoff team, and certainly could win a couple of playoff games. Or not.

Feels like an improved team from the Nine-Win team of last year. But its not a 14-2 type team, either. Somewhere in between is what it looks like.

Course almost all the NFL teams are a Left-Tackl-injury away from mediocrity.

They have some things they need to clean up, but to me, they do look like a Super Bowl contender. And they will be getting some guys back that might help them out defensively over the next few weeks too.

But, other than maybe the Ravens, every team has holes. It’s the nature of the game today.

Recall that the 99 Rams lost to the only two good teams they played during the regular season and the defense didn’t look very good in either loss.

We still need work on our defense. We need another CB opposite of Jalen Ramsey, & LB. Especially ILB. There are some good LBs from 3rd round on. I feel LT is fine. Both, David Edwards & Joseph Noteboom are going to fight out for the future LT position.

I came into this game expecting to get punched in the mouth … but overall the comeback we had was more important than getting the W in my opinion. This is early in the season and these guys just had a serious bonding moment that we can build from.

I’ll get the bad call thing out of the way first.

    Bad Call

    1) What I saw was Gabriel firing off the line like he was going to block. He did not try to get off the jam in any way … and kept his arms firmly planted and basically drove Williams back 9 yards. I saw him not look for the ball until it was basically past him. I saw him not make a break inside for the football. I saw Williams just basically holding on for dear life wondering what Gabriel was doing. Gabriel looked like he was trying to run through him. What I know about rules … Williams has every right to his position and running through him is offensive PI. What I’m guessing … Gabriel was determined to lock him up and set him on his heels like hand fighting you can do in college, then at a certain point he intended to shuck him and break inside, forcing Williams to hold or give up the TD. What Williams didn’t do “Impede his motion toward the football.”

    The Great

    2) Historic comeback and showing of united determination and confidence.

    3) No sign of panic, running the ball after the Bills score.

Those are systemic maturations ^^^ a much bigger deal than a win. The core group that will be with us for 5 years plus did that.

    4) The run blocking for Henderson. Those were gaping holes I was not expecting. Edwards makes our line better, period.

    5) Aaron Donald.

    The Good

    6) Hollins getting pressure (facemask recipient)

    7) Hendo with 114 … having too many good backs is a great problem to have.

    8) Josh Reynolds with meaningful playing time (VJ will be amazing, but he doesn’t have the nuance of our offense yet)

    9) Everett Sighting.

    10) Some really accurate passes by Jared.

    11) Red Zone offense. Achilles heel last year, not this year.

    12) Pass protection.

    The Bad

    12) Fuller being out obviously hurt our communication … there were many blown coverages.

    13) On the 3rd and 22 JJ3 shaded toward someone who was covered and vacated his zone … He’s gotta know where Beasley is on that play.

    14) Singletary made us look stupid like 10 times.

    15) Pass rush in the first half was abysmal.

    16) Ebukam, in general. He really never took the next step.

    17) Troy Hill’s completion %. Does he need to be outside?

    18) It taking us 3 quarters to stop them.

    The Ugly

    19) The call on 4th and 4.

    20) How open their WRs were like 8 times. I had to yell curse words at the tv multiple times. It has yet to forgive me.

There may be stuff I missed, but it was a decent game overall soured by a bad call at the end … a game where we proved how much we could come back from against a playoff team with a good defense.

The Giants are hapless WITH Saquon, without him they don’t have a shot.
