I think the Rams D was sleepwalking through some of that.
Made it more of a game than it should have been.
But, Kupp–7 for 220 & a TD
Goff had a few wacky throws but he ended the game 17 of 31 for 372 and 2 TDs
Obo got 1.5 sacks.

October 27, 2019 at 4:22 pm #107425wvParticipantI saw some highlights and the thing that struck me, was how Lame the Londoners were at waving their little flags.
Americans are better flag-wavers, imho.

October 27, 2019 at 4:45 pm #107429AgamemnonParticipantOctober 27, 2019 at 4:57 pm #107430nittany ramModeratorSigning Kupp will be a must.
Really like Henderson. He’s little but has big man’s power to go with his speed.
The inside handoffs and reverses to Woods et al aren’t working. Not sure if it’s because the blocking is poor or defenses have figured it out.
Goff had a couple bloopers but he looked comfortable and was more accurate on his deeper throws than he has been. He just needs a clean pocket.
Hill got abused a little and I didn’t like Ramsey playing sorta lackadaisical towards the end of the game.

Henderson is a very interesting back. Yes he’s strong, and built like a compact little fire hydrant, but on top of it, he has just unreal contact balance. As often as not direct hits don’t knock his gyroscope off. Combine those features and he’s not only nifty and quick, he’s hard to bring down. You would expect a fast, shorter back like that to be more elusive, but instead, while he is decently elusive, his main thing (along with speed) is that he’s tough to tackle and just keeps plowing ahead. Great pick I think. Kind of a unique back. Not sure who to compare him to.

Yeah. It’s hard to compare him to other backs because he is unique. He’s sorta like a quicker, niftier, Robert Newhouse, but not exactly, because Henderson has straight away speed too. I have no doubt he could be a feature back, though.
So, since the Rams will have their own stadium next season, this should be the last time they have to play in London, correct? Although, overall the Rams have fared pretty well there, except for that 59-7 debacle against the Pats.
October 27, 2019 at 7:57 pm #107444CalParticipantI just saw the highlights but I’m excited about Obo Okoronkwo. I thought he was a great pick last year and have been waiting for him to play like he did today.
Obo looks like he could add some good pass rush off the edge. It will be interesting what Wade can do with Obo, Fowler, and Matthews when Clay returns.
I do wish Goff would grow up a little in his ability to process defenses. I noticed 2 or 3 times today when Woods beat his man and was open on a third down the Rams failed to convert. Those looked like plays an elite qb should have made.
October 27, 2019 at 9:57 pm #107453InvaderRamModeratorhave not seen the game yet. will try to watch it tonight or tomorrow.
curious as to what people thought of ogbo.
also. i think gurley and cooks get cut as soon as rams are able.
priority has to be to re-sign kupp. and ramsey.
October 27, 2019 at 10:52 pm #107455TSRFParticipantOur Kupp was more than half full…
I did not watch the game live, and have only seen highlights, but I’m a little concerned about the D’s performance too.
The only way we win the division is if we sweep the rest of our NFC West games. 12-22 @ San Fran just seems like too high of a hill to climb. I do see the 9ers hitting a rough patch with games at Ravens and Saints, but if the Cards or Seahawks can’t sneak in a win against the 9ers, best case for us is Wild Card.
October 27, 2019 at 11:56 pm #107464znModeratorI forgot to mention.
One thing that was annoying–Bengals were 4 of 6 on 4th down. Including some 4th and longs.
My own considerable footballl knowledge tells me, that’s not the best approach.
Better to stop them.

October 28, 2019 at 12:12 am #107467canadaramParticipantI thought that secondary left a lot to be desired. Overall this doesn’t seem like a defense that gets you into the playoffs, let alone gets you a deep playoff run. I might feel differently if the Rams had an explosive offense, but that’s just not the case this year.
I was happy to see Okoronkwo get pressure on Dalton. It would be super helpful if he developed as a pass rusher. The Rams are going to need pass rush help if they lose Fowler to FA.
October 28, 2019 at 12:30 am #107468JackPMillerParticipantIf we had issues against Cincy, just think how we are going to be against the better teams. We have a real difficult schedule here on out. Let’s hope when we play Pittsburgh, it will be a much better performance than the one we had against the 9ers, where we had 10 days off to prepare. Now we have 14.
October 28, 2019 at 12:38 am #107470InvaderRamModeratorsaw highlights. gurley looked strong on the few runs i saw.
i hope mcvay starts ramping up his reps soon. don’t know what’s going on there, but they can’t justify that salary given the amount of touches he gets. and there’s only so much salary cap space to go around.
can’t wait to see the actual game and see how ogbo did.

October 28, 2019 at 8:59 am #107474Eternal RamnationParticipantWeird stuff happens in the UK games so you have to take them with a grain of salt. A 14 points win is always good.4 concussions in a season and a half is never good I’m thinking Cooks may be on his way out of football.
October 28, 2019 at 10:50 am #107480wvParticipantAfter scrutinizing the game-pass game, and synthesizing the complexities, and lab results from particle Linebacker analysis from the folks at CERN,
i have grasped AND beheld, one conclusion: The Rams are better than the Bengals.I truly believe that.
I agree with what’s been said in this thread:
1)Uninspired play from the Defense, but the talent on D sparkled on enough plays to win.
2)Kupp was one of them NFL-mismatches in this game. Cincy just didnt have the answers for him. Course it helps when the DB falls on his face. But its Cincy, so you expect a couple of those every game.
3) Henderson is better than Gurley at running the ball. Where do i put that fact in my brain? I mean, is that a good thing or a bad thing?
4) I dont understand how the refs dont call helmet to helmet on the Cooks hit.
5) 5-3 — Thats about where they should be right now. Seems about right.w
vOctober 28, 2019 at 1:51 pm #107485ZooeyModeratorThe Rams are not as good as they were last year.
There’s time to get it right, but there is something wrong with this team.
October 28, 2019 at 4:22 pm #107497joemadParticipanthelp me understand the frustration with Rams fans over this game?????
The Rams only allowed 10 points….all in the 2nd qtr, thus the Bengals posted goose eggs in 3 qtrs of football.
Kooper Cup amassed 220 receiving yards.
Rams 53% on 3rd down.
Goff 146 passer rating and jumps to NFL league leader in passing yards
All this after no LA home cooking…. from ATL to the UK….
it’s ok to play prevent defense when you’re up by 14!!! BTW, the Rams beat the 13.5 spread….
i realize that Cincy is 0-7…. the Seahawks barely beat them by 1, where howdy doody Dalton passed for >400 yards in Seattle. The Bengals should’ve beaten Arizona and have played the Ravens tough..
The Bengals are not the Washington Generals and the Rams don’t have Curley Neal nor Meadowlark…
Any given Sunday, except for yesterday it was another win outside of LA for McVay. How many road wins is that for McVay and the Rams?
how about that flea flicker to Kupp? Was that cool or what?
October 28, 2019 at 6:34 pm #107504InvaderRamModeratorhelp me understand the frustration with Rams fans over this game?????
there is a small percentage of rams fans who are freaking out. who are going so far as to say that goff should be traded.
but it’s a minority for sure. i think.
so you’re right. there’s a lot of good things about this team we need to appreciate. but at the same time there are definite things that need to be fixed.

Game 8 … Bengals …
Well it was going to be a win unless we really blew it, so I was watching to see if we won efficiently. Low Gurley usage, vanilla playcalling … ball control.
The Great
1) Really satisfying watching Coop bust out.
2) Obo making some plays. Yes I’ve been waiting. He was one of my guys.
3) Troy HIll next man upping Marcus Peters/Talib with basically no drop off.
The Good
4) Winning games we should win.
5) Winning in London.
6) Josh Reynolds stepping up and allowing our team to not miss a beat.
7) Darrell Henderson showing me the stuff I saw in college (where upon contact he bucks up against his attacker and throws him off balance to shed tackles)
8) Knowing our deepest CB can ball.
9) Rapp playing continuously solid.
10) Fowler playing himself into a comp 3rd for us …
The Bad
11) The Mixon drive on us … it energized them.
12) No turnovers. Bummed me out.
13) Really not as much push as I expected on such a mediocre line.
14) Got a few bigger plays against us that I was not happy about. May not be a big deal but it looks like Zac pointed some weaknesses out that others may take advantage of.
15) Brandin’s concussion form that light hit … that’s not safe for him and I hope he has a long consult about his health and future. I’ll miss his mighty mouse type strength … but we’ll be okay and he’ll be okay if he needs to leave.
