ModeratorWell, Kupp is having surgery, but they say out 4 weeks.
Alaric Jackson is out for the year. Chandler Brewer is out for a month.
This is an opportunity to try Robert Rochell at OT, seems like.

ModeratorI picked a good season to miss, it seems.
The only games I’ve seen this year are the Buffalo game and the 1st 9ers game. I’ve missed every Sunday game all season long for…reasons.
I had some hope a week ago because it looked like the OL was returning to health, but this is now a lost year.
I also have to think OBJ is not going to sign into this train wreck, so we’ve probably permanently lost him as well.

ModeratorWeird bit from a CBS article. Am I misreading this?
The Los Angeles Rams are very interested in trading for a pass rusher before the Nov. 1 deadline according to multiple league sources, and they’re closely watching the Broncos in London on Sunday morning.
The Rams are interested in Broncos pass rusher Bradley Chubb, who’s near or at the top of the Rams’ wish list. Chubb is currently on his fifth-year option, so the Rams would need to feel sure they could negotiate a long-term deal with him before making the trade.
The Rams have told teams they’re willing to part with future first-round picks, but the Rams don’t have one in 2023 by virtue of the Matthew Stafford trade. That’s complicating matters because a team would be trading a blue-chip player for compensation they wouldn’t see for a year.
The Rams were recently outbid by the 49ers for Christian McCaffrey. Their lack of a fourth-round pick helped San Francisco to win out for the running back’s services.
Available pass rushers aren’t falling off trees. Carolina appears unwilling to part with Brian Burns. L.A. was relieved to see Philadelphia scoop up Robert Quinn knowing the former Ram likely didn’t want a reunion with the team and the fact that the Eagles were some of their main competition at edge rusher.
The Kansas City Chiefs are also deeply interested in a pass rusher. With the teams being in opposite divisions, they’re not necessarily battling one another for the same players. Denver, for example, should have no interest in trading Chubb to their AFC West rivals.
@@@@@@@@@@
Why would Quinn be opposed to a reunion with the Rams?
And, although it takes the Eagles out of the competition for Chubb, the Eagles got Quinn, and the Rams so far have nothing, so personally…I don’t feel relief.

ModeratorAt CBS, it’s unanimous: all 8 experts pick the 9ers.

ModeratorWhat did I do that held the post up? Was it the title/heading?
And, yeah…Jackson working out would be amazingly good fortune. Now if the line would just stay healthy….

ModeratorTo sum up how insane this season has been so far: There is only one game in Week 8 between teams with winning records:
Not Ravens-Bucs.
Not 49ers-Rams.
Not Packers-Bills.🗣 It's Giants vs. Seahawks.
Go figure.

ModeratorTHREAD. A woman just died and babies and adults were taken to the hospital in Akron, Ohio after a carbon monoxide leak at an apartment building where the corporate landlord hadn't installed CO detectors as required by law. How do you think the local news and police treated it?

ModeratorI would think a Robert Quinn reunion would be a good thing, too. I don’t know how he’s doing this year, but he was a presence last year. He’d cost less draft capital.

Moderatori think i would prefer burns over cmc… i don’t know though. haven’t really watched either of them play much… haha.
I never heard of Burns until I saw his name pop up in trade rumors last week, so that’s how much I know.
But he is described as a young, forceful edge rusher, and I think the Rams need that more than they need a good RB, especially one with questionable tread left on the tires. Von Miller put the defense over the top last year, and looks like Burns could do the same.
The Rams need to also bring back OBJ who put the Rams offense over the top last year.
With those two additions, the Rams will be competitive. The Rams got to Super Bowls with CJ Anderson and Sony Michel being their most productive backs, and while it’s nice to have premium talent in the backfield, the Rams can at least compete with Henderson, Brown, and Williams. And maybe they get another body for a 3rd-day pick.
Zooey
ModeratorHopefully, the Rams will have Brian Burns by then.

ModeratorCooper Kupp does not like to go down.
Zooey
ModeratorI didn’t see the whole game, but from what I saw, I think Cooper Kupp is good at footballing.
Also…nice ARob siting.
Zooey
ModeratorOuch.
That’s gotta sting a little bit, though I’m not even a little bit sorry for him.
The team has increased in value more than that anyway, and he would have taken that deal if it was on the table, I imagine.
Zooey
ModeratorGood riddance… OBJ will get his jersey # back
The guy is no good. And he is a fumbler.
I liked him before his injury, and thought he was a good pick, and I was excited about his early return last year.
But… he just isn’t getting the job done. As mediocre as Henderson is, he is more productive than Akers, and he doesn’t drop the ball all the time. I’m sorry Akers got hurt, and that a promising career never got a chance, but he isn’t helping the team.
Zooey
ModeratorOkay then.
We will rally around Alaric Jackson, and we will play good football.
Zooey
ModeratorZooey
ModeratorThe belief is that he’ll draw significant trade interest
Robert Woods – who can play football well – netted the Rams a 6th round pick.
Cam Akers – who averages under 3 yards a carry and had an injury that ended many careers – won’t get the Rams anything.
Zooey
ModeratorEverything will be fine as long as we don’t bomb Cambodia.
Zooey
ModeratorZooey
ModeratorShoot, we’ll fix this.
Zooey
ModeratorRobert Woods > Allen Robinson
Sony Michel > Henderson + Akers
Von Miller > whoever
No turnovers. Too much zone.
No continuity in the OL against a very good DL.
Zooey
ModeratorI don’t think I’m going to enjoy this game. I expect an ugly game. I just hope that Frisco is uglier than the Rams.
