That Week 17 game against Carolina is in New Orleans.

He has been compared to his idol, Joe Montana, before. I think it is a good comparison. They are both extremely cool-headed. Neither looks the part. Both accurate.

Yeah. I’ll take a young Montana.

Theismann injury was 33 years ago to the day…11/18, 1985.

    Speed_Kills

    and how about this

the Giants won that game 23-21

    the Texans won 23-21

As Mark Twain allegedly said, “History doesn’t repeat itself, but often rhymes.”

I didn’t ever see Theisman’s injury. I was out of the country that year, and I never saw a replay. Won’t see this one, either.

That’s the end of Washington, one would think. There is good reason why everyone was surprised to hear Colt McCoy was his backup.

Right now, I have my doubts. The Saints outmatched them, and the Rams have been too leaky on defenst.

They need to beat the Chiefs and Bears for me to take them seriously. I mean…I will still have hope, but not confidence.

Or if the refs are on the “LA Express”…which they already are.

I like that they are complaining about the refs several days before the game starts.

Does anyone besides the team the Rams are playing give a rat’s ass about the Rams?

    …like…the nation follows the Chiefs?

this is a top 12 defense in terms of points given up per game. That’s better than both the Saints and Chiefs, the two teams they are most compared to. So while it is frustrating to fans, they aren’t playing poorly relative to the other teams vying for the Super Bowl and playoff seeding.

This is the…this is the Thing.

Having watched the Rams this year, my Key Hope is that everybody else has the same problem.

I’ll take ten years of this guy and run away giggling as if I successfully took the house for a bunch of money.

    Exactly.

Seriously, what more can you ask? You want McVay to put in 30 years at this job like it’s a deskjob at State Farm or something?

If you tell me we have a passionate McVay until 2027, I will sign on that line right now.

So I recall a big thread some years ago where people posted their Thanksgiving recipes, and I’ve searched and not found what I’m looking for. zn, I recall, had some Swear-by Turkey recipe.

My brother was going to host at his house, but he’s still not back in his house due to the Camp fire, and they have asked us to host. I’ve never cooked a turkey in my life because I’ve never cooked a Thanksgiving meal before.

    Any favorite tips?

My recipe, I haven’t done it in a while. It’s not a roast turkey, it;s turkey parts basted in a broth.

If that interests you I can try and dig it up.

I thought you gave a fuller description than the one I found which just says…buy a turkey…have the butcher cut it in pieces…roast/baste it in a wine/chicken broth. But I know nothing about temperature or time or whether to cover the turkey in foil, or not.

Yes, they already went to Colorado.

And I wouldn’t think they would move back to LA after they already set up in Colorado. That would interfere with their preparation. To say nothing of the fact that air quality is not good in LA right now. AND…maybe the high altitude practice gives them an edge in the 4th quarter over the flatlander Chiefs.

This increases the Rams chances of winning from 79.6% to 90.7%

I see some people out there in the Rams net are blaming the ref for the flag on Fowler.

    Nah.

Even Donald was jawing at him about it. McV sat him on the ensuing series with a dismissive wave of the hand.

You can say a lot to officials but there’s a line and you do not cross it.

Yeah. You can’t say some things.

I understand why he was pissed, though. Most married couples hold each other less than that.

I didn’t see the Littleton penalty. I was driving my car at that point, but the game was on the radio. The announcers both agreed that they did not think it was roughing, but…”in today’s NFL, you just can’t have contact below the waist.”

I think it’s 50/50 we sign Fowler to a king term deal.

That would make linebacker less of an emergency.

I’ll add safety to your list.

I can’t say Joyner is earning a big extension, so…yeah.

I was surprised by Donald. He took a cheap shot, and I would guess that Britt was being a dick the entire game, but that was surprising. And going back after the game…that is not okay.

I have watched the replay several times, and I just don’t see any receiver in the area. Wilson was clearly throwing that ball away to avoid a sack, and he was in the pocket, and there was nobody there. That should have been Int Grounding and a 10-sec runoff. I thought the officiating was pretty shoddy a few times, but I was watching a poor resolution feed with the sound off and some buffering while multi-tasking, so my viewing effort was pretty shoddy, too. But that was my impression, and I’m not usually a ref-basher.

    I haven’t seen Mahomes.

Before Talib went out and the defense collapsed, I thought the Rams would win this game. I’m not so sure now. The Rams are going to need some turnovers, and to have the ball last, I guess.

I don’t know why the Rams didn’t just go to Mexico City to get used to the altitude instead of Colorado Springs, but it’s a good move to go higher. Is KC doing anything to acclimate?

I echo JoeMad on clock management. I didn’t expect them to lose when they gave the ball to the Seahawks with 1:35 left, but I wouldn’t have been surprised if they had. They held on, but against a real football team….

Lost Kupp, looks like. I think that weakens the offense considerably.

I don’t understand the defense. Losing Talib should hurt, but it’s like the whole secondary looks lost without him, and I don’t understand that.

This does not look like a Super Bowl team right now. How about some turnovers?

Our theatre is filled with smoke. We are 90 miles from the Camp fire.

One of my idiot brothers lives at the west end of Spanish Garden Dr, about 2,000 feet west of the fire…but this map hasn’t changed in the past 8 hours, so I don’t know if it’s accurate or not.

I grew up in Chico. My parents still live there. They are about 3 miles from the edge. They told me this morning that they had to use their headlights to drive around town yesterday.

Seattle should be especially motivated to win this game. They are coming off a loss and sitting at 4 – 4. They don’t want to slip below 0.500 this late into the season.

They should feel pretty confident given how well they played against the Rams in the first meeting. If they’ve been watching game film of Marcus Peters they should be downright giddy.

    This game should be interesting.

    Well.

Yeah, this has Loss written all over it.

The crowd is going to be in a frenzy, and the Rams have leaks in their defense. I think the Saints take it to the Rams on the ground, and keep the Rams off the field, and load up on Gurley.

To win…I think the Rams need to take the crowd out which means getting a lead early, and not letting go of it.

I hate that too. As if the Rams’ window is closing after this year.

Their window is wide open and can remain so indefinitely as teams like New England and Pittsburgh have proven.

    Same here.

And I saw somewhere that Les Snead spent the offseason kicking the tires on some kids in the maternity ward. He is definitely thinking long term.

I cannot believe Fowler is going to make a difference for a couple of weeks.

If he plays 10 snaps on Sunday, I will call it Good.

If he exceeds those expectations, I will start thinking about how best to design a shrine.
