    Prior to the 2025 season, it was the 2026 draft that was supposed to be “loaded” at the QB position with Manning, Sellers, Beck, Klubnik, Nussmeier, Allar… all fighting for top billing. NOBODY cared about Fernando Mendoza, nobody even heard of Trinidad Chambliss, and nobody thought that Dante Moore was a can’t miss 1st rounder. It needs to stop being said that the 2027 QB draft is loaded, because we do not know that. All of these QB’s that everyone is hyping up for next year could end up having bad years. Dante Moore is making the best decision FOR HIMself, based on his desire to be great LONG TERM. But there are many who believe he is doomed because he didn’t go take the money right now. If he then busted out of the league with a poor organization with a poor infrastructure around him, those same people would be the first to say how stupid it was that he came out in 2026. The player knows what he needs better than anyone talking about it, that’s for damn sure. Let it play out and support the young man.

    Some of it is natural regression for the lowest-paid defense in the league.

    Some of it is not having Quentin Lake, arguably the defensive MVP, for 6 of those 7 games.

    The Rams need to hope more of it is the second one than the first. Sunday will be a great test of that.

    You mean besides the Rams?

    They haven’t played the Giants or Commandos in the post-season. And I get why those 2 teams are avoiding the Rams.

    As for our time zone, I choose Singapore.

    In terms of playoff games, they’ve only lost to 2 NFC teams–Falcons and Eagles. So they have issues with outside the division NFC predatory birds. The solution, of course, is to add those 2 teams to the NFC West.

    The 2025 edition is very different from the 99 team, obviously, yet equally high flying.

    Stafford has more to offer as a qb than Warner, which is not a jab at Warner–so I should say even more to offer. But another key difference is this. Vermeil and Martz had a number of hall of fame level elite players–Faulk, Bruce, Holt, Warner, Pace. Martz took advantage of their elite abilities and designed a dazzling and great offense. Martz brilliantly took advantage of that high level of talent. With McVay, we have players who are not the same kind of superstars but the offense focuses in on and takes full advantage of the special skills they do have. So Nacua is not Holt or Bruce, he’s something different; Jackson is not Pace but is used to great advantage; Williams is not Faulk but the running game is set up to take good advantage of his best traits. The result is a team that is in some respects more lunchpail than the 99 GSOT, but it’s also super lunchpail–I think they’re all being used better in McVay’s offense than they would be in any other coach’s offense.

    Leaving out the quarterbacks, the avg. draft round with Pace, Bruce, Holt, and Faulk was, basically, a 1st. With Williams, Nacua, and Jackson, it’s a low 5th. So the 99 GSOT was dazzling ballet, while the 2025 team has more direct collisions built into it. So it’s ballet v. demolition derby, but really great demolition derby.

    To bring the qbs back in, though, that-s not entirely true because of Stafford, who regularly makes impossible “first pick in the draft” level elite throws.

    This is going to be a slug-fest but I really think the whole weather thing is being overplayed.

    Stafford played in Det. Yes Det is in a dome but he played in GB and Chic every year. Kyren Williams played at ND. Blake Corum-Michigan Davante Adams was in GB for several years and I sure don’t worry about Puca.

    The old weather impacting non-cold weather teams is only relevant if those teams are finesse. In the past I would be much more worried about some of the Rams offenses because they were so based on exact timing and precision and…..finesse. This version of the Rams offense features heavy TE involvement and an above average smash mouth running attack.

    What the weather will have the biggest impact on is kicks and punts. I’ve seen too many games where the visiting FG kicker all of a sudden can’t make a kick outside of 35 yards and the punter becomes a coin flip. That is where I think the home team has the advantage in knowing how to use the wind and temps better.

    This needs to be an offensive game plan that utilizes the run, RB dumps, TE passes, and relatively close to the LOS passes. That does NOT mean they can’t push the ball down the field but I would love them to establish that early and then be able to use play action passes, double moves, and an occasional deep shot because the DBs have moved up.

    Caleb Williams is definitely apt to force stuff. It is also imperative for broken plays with him passing to try to get him to go to his left. That is when is tries the across the body 40 yard hail mary pass that usually ends up in the defenders hands.

    Finally, points are a premium. If you have a FG chance take it.

    Cam Cameron went 1-15 and was fired after a year.

    Meanwhile, in Pittsburgh, they were immediately impressed by Tomlin.

    One good indicator of Tomlin’s caliber as a coach is the number of players who left Pittsburgh and became problems elsewhere, but were never problems with the Steelers, along with the number of players who were problems before Pittsburgh but stopped being that the minute they signed with the Steelers.

    Asked Sean McVay what stands out about Bears HC Ben Johnson’s system and rapport with QB Caleb Williams (given McVay’s own system and rapport with Matthew Stafford).

    McVay said he’s studied Johnson “really closely” going back to Johnson’s time with the Lions, and praised both his philosophy and flexibility in applying those foundational principles to different types of QBs
