Do we know who on the Rams are vaccinated and who are not? I’m sure the league knows… Based on a comment I heard on the radio, I don’t think Ramsey is vaccinated (a DJ talking, but it sounded like he said something supporting Hopkin’s since deleted tweet).
We don’t know anything about the Rams situation. And Ramsey is indeed saying dumb things about vaxxing. But you would think the team would be on top of this.

What lead to Bryant’s use of the racial slur during the meeting starts when a citizen identified as Chuck appears to stand up for Bryant, accusing the other city council members of using Bryant as a punching bag. Chuck asks Bryant why he hasn’t defended himself in the past and then asks Bryant to do that.
For the next few minutes, Bryant takes the floor and his points are scattered. Bryant and Mayor Wayman Newton have a few back and forth exchanges and Bryant complains about being interrupted by others in the past. Just after the 1 hour and 38-minute mark in the video, Newton takes the floor and brings up Bryant’s wife and her social media posts. From there, the exchange grows with another city council member commenting about his wife’s social media posts and Bryant defending himself stating that his wife does not speak for him.
Just before the 1 hour and 41-minute mark, an unidentified person in the audience states that Bryant’s wife used the n-word on Facebook. This leads directly into Bryant’s use of the racial slur saying, “Let’s get to the n-word.” before using the line “Do we have a house n***er in here”, pointing to his left, apparently directing attention to city council member Veronica Freeman and claiming that Newton used the slur in reference to her.
At this point, there are audible gasps in the crowd and just over a minute later Freeman, sitting close to Newton, can be seen sobbing into her hands within view of the camera, only to leave and continue to cry off camera.
The video goes on for another 30 minutes, with discussions on racial tensions in the city and Mayor Newton proposing a town hall meeting on racial issues. When Bryant is asked if he would be interested in participating, Bryant pauses and responds that he would “have to think about that.”

Update: The Alabama Democratic Party has called for Bryant’s resignation. Bryant so far has been defiant and states that instead of resigning he plans to run for Mayor.
Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl issued the following statement:
“The Alabama Republican Party is deeply troubled by the racially charged outburst and disrespect shown by Councilman Tommy Bryant. Such language is completely unacceptable in any setting, and even more concerning coming from an elected official. We are proud to have Mayor Wayman Newton as a member of the Jefferson County Republican Party and deeply appreciate his commitment to serving his constituents honorably, even in the face of adversity.”

Player Bio
It did not take Jones long to make an impact after driving the three hours from Spring, Texas, to the SMU campus. He started 6 of 12 games played and set a school record in 2015 by scoring 10 rushing touchdowns as a true freshman (152-634-4.2 rushing; 27-214-7.9 receiving). Injuries to his hamstring and shoulder limited him to two games in 2016 (15-140-9.3, one TD rushing), when he received a medical redshirt. Jones bounced back to lead the Mustangs in rushing in 2017, starting 12 of 13 games, covering 1,075 yards and scoring nine times on 182 carries (5.9 average), and catching 14 passes for 84 yards (6.0 average). He had a lesser role on offense as a junior (69-311-4.2, two TDs rushing; 10-95-9.5 receiving, one start in 10 games) but became “the man” for the Mustangs in 2019. Jones was a first-team All-American Athletic Conference selection as a senior, leading his team with 1,276 yards (244 carries, 5.2 per) and finishing among the nation’s leaders with 23 touchdowns in 13 starts.

Common runner with decent size and a grinder’s mentality/skill set. Jones is just average athletically, lacking the wiggle and creativity to keep runs alive beyond their standard shelf life. He’s a determined runner with good lower-body power and forward lean who runs behind his pads and falls forward through contact. He lacks sideline-to-sideline range as a runner but can work outside the tackles in outside zone. There is nothing special that defines his game. He lacks versatility beyond the early downs, but his toughness and willful running style are positive traits.

vAnd yet as we know there is a difference between the right-wing version and the moderate/liberal/centrist version of the 2 pro corporate parties. It’s not a negligible difference (though of course from a left perspective the the centrist/liberal media leaves too much out).
So righties often see lies where in fact the “liberal” ie. centrist media is actually decently reliable. And they don’t see lies where the right wing political establishment and media ARE lying.
I just don’t see righties as having cracked the code of liberal/centrist discourse and seen through it all in ways that are sympatico with a leftist critique of the same discourse.
Race came up and it’s crucial. (Right discourse at its core is a tacit white supremecist discourse, not always openly bigoted but deeply deluded about race and blind to its own supremicist tendencies). But it’s not just race. Look at economics. How many disaffected, unhappy, suffering righties see through “trickle down theory”? Any? Ever? Anywhere?
Covid discussions have highlighted this. Other places I’ve been in debates about this. One of my key points was always that covid exposed the deep seated inequities in the socio-economics of the American medical establishment. (The racial and ethnic and class differences in death rates was a stark reminder of this.) Whenever I said that, with obvious righites, I might as well have been speaking an extraterrestial language. They didn’t even oppose it, they just flat had no idea how to discuss it. It was all “but this one goes to 11” type discussion. I got some “socialism is worse” stuff and that was about it.
