if you’re a Rams fan, you should be going WILD right now. these guys took 0 snaps together in the PS and it was visible, Stafford missed two throws (Woods over MOF, DeSean first catch) because of the lack of timing.they’re going to get better. they’ve got a masssssive ceiling.
…
Offensive line: A-
Considering the defensive front the Rams faced on Sunday night, it was a good performance by the O-line. They allowed just one sack and four total hits on Matthew Stafford, though it didn’t even seem like that many while watching the game.He had a ton of time in the pocket and those deep shots were well-protected, allowing them to develop down the field. Brian Allen still has room for improvement and Andrew Whitworth wasn’t in peak form yet, but Rob Havenstein and David Edwards did good jobs in their respective matchups with Khalil Mack and Akiem Hicks.

znModeratorThis power ranking article puts all 4 NFC West teams in the top 6.
—
from NFL Power Rankings
6. Arizona Cardinals (1-0, LW: 19)
That’s why the Cardinals were smart to not give in to Chandler Jones’ trade request. The brass there needs to win now, and Jones makes a huge difference. He had five sacks and will be one of the NFL’s best defensive players. The Cardinals looked great on both sides of the ball.
5. Seattle Seahawks (1-0, LW: 8)
Two plays that looked a lot easier than they were: Tyler Lockett made an unbelievable adjustment to catch a touchdown over his shoulder …
… then Russell Wilson threw a pass that went about 60 yards in the air and hit Lockett in stride for a game-changing touchdown. These plays were the difference in a win.
4. Los Angeles Rams (1-0, LW: 7)
Everything looked great. I wonder if that was because the Bears are a really bad team, but part of being a contender is taking care of business against bad teams. The Rams did just that.
3. San Francisco 49ers (1-0, LW: 5)
Think of the 49ers this way: They barely used Trey Lance, who is their most talented quarterback. Trey Sermon, a back everyone had high hopes for, was surprisingly inactive. Raheem Mostert got hurt early in the game. Brandon Aiyuk, perhaps because he’s barely back from a hamstring injury, didn’t get a target after playing so well last season. And the 49ers still put up 41 points on the road. All those aforementioned players are very good and will be factors as we go on. The 49ers are going to be really good.
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0, LW: 2)
Well, Tom Brady still is in his prime. The Buccaneers have a lot to work on, but realistically it’s pretty good if you can turn it over four times and still win a game against a talented Cowboys team.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (1-0, LW: 1)
In the second half of last season, the Chiefs kept doing just enough to win. They didn’t blow anyone out. It’s not a good habit for an elite team to get into. Yet on Sunday, the Chiefs fell behind and had to rally to win. The Browns are good and the Chiefs will get healthier, but it’ll be nice to see them dominate some opponents (it probably won’t happen at Baltimore in Week 2).

Being a Pro Bowl WR in the NFC is tough when you have the likes of Adams, Cooper, Godwin, Evans, Hopkins etc in the conference, but if Cooper Kupp plays all 17 games as the focal point of the Rams offense you have to imagine he makes it for the first time.
znModeratorAnd with RB Raheem Mostert announcing today that he is out for the season with a knee injury he sustained vs. Detroit, the 49ers now are signing former Lions’ RB Kerryon Johnson to their practice squad, per his agent @DrewJRosenhaus.

The Bears have a lot of pieces, just missing QB .. so I’m glad we got to warm up against them rather than it being a trap game later in the season when it slows down for Fields.
The Great
1) Excitement. Just flat out joy experienced …
2) Justin Hollins. When he came out I liked him (I rate Ducks higher for some reason) and thought he could be a situational rusher with some upside … I did not see him becoming a fully well rounded player that we could count on to man the edge. Like … yeah we have Floyd but Hollins looks better .. and that’s the piece I was worried about not having.
3) Ramsey is playing on fire.
The Good
4) AD with 1 sack, 1 assist, and 1 holding. I’m going to track his sack assists this year.
5) Kenny Young is playing like I saw him at UCLA.
6) Kupp after the catch is one of my favorite things about watching our games. Now he has more time to make that first move.
7) Van sighting … that’s just a deep group. Scary.
8) I like the defensive rotation along the line … Hoecht got around the corner once, what OT is going to expect that kind of athleticism from a backup? From the philosophy it looks like we;’re using this will be important.
9) David Long making a play on the ball.
10) Rochelle looking like a vet?
11) Havenstein against Mack holding his own … was not expecting that.
12) Hendo on the goal line … I expect him to slash through holes but I like his acceleration into defender to get to paydirt.
13) Higbee involvement … Im a fan of TE play so I like him getting the ball fast so he can become the aggressor.
14) Woods TD catch. Not fair.
The Bad
15) It looks like our D scheme is “wait and hit” … so far. Which puts us in a “might get run on” position. So I get that we are tightening that up, but I don’t like being run on.
16) Why is Cooper catching punts? If I had the choice to have no one catch punts and just let the ball roll or have Cooper, I’d take no one.
17) 1st half run game was not good. We got away with it here, but we need to not have that be our standard.
18) We need to cover the TE better. Kmet is a good player, but there are a lot of high quality TEs in the league now .. we can’t have a weakness there.

Matthew Stafford had a 156.1 passer rating last night. That’s the best by any Rams starting QB in a season opener in our @pfref database (since 1950).Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was perfect on the play-action, according to a TruMedia query, and completed 8 passes on 8 attempts for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Six of his play-action snaps. The Rams used light boxes (6 or less defenders) the second-most of any team through Sunday night, at a 73.91 percent rate (per TruMedia query). The Steelers led the league here (86.8%) and the Chargers came close..
