Game 10 … 9ers … putrid.
I’d rather spit my teeth out than write this one, especially since I’m going to be a bit easy on a team I simply expect more out of from numerous angles.
Our offense was inept. Losing Woods is a psychological blow and the team simply did not prepare to adjust for that. We may have prepared the right packages, but I can’t know that. I knew the 9ers were going to run on us. I did not expect us to not be able to score.
There was nothing great. Obviously.
The Good
1) Run blocking was working fine. I thought both Sony and Hendo have been playing at a high level.
2) While they ran on us, then ran for less than 4ypc.
3) Von Miller showed some burst.
4) Gut checks this early in the season by the bye week. We can sort our crap out now.
5) The extra week to get OBJ as a functional member of the rotation.
6) Benny Sko getting open.
The Bad
7) Misses by Stafford. Until he fixes it. Balls behind, low, high … gotta figure his thumb is an issue even though it’s not being said.
8) Having to sit through 2 90 yard ten minutes drives.
9) The fake FG … that’s our 4th string TE … and it was a long get. It wasn’t 4th and 6.
10) Higbee … two drops, one for pick 6.
11) Kupp? Dropped first down?
12) How hard our players were getting popped on those short throws.
13) Dissention among the ranks with Ramsey and Morris.
14) EVERY KITTLE AND SAMUEL PLAY.
15 ) the article on NFL.com … I hope McVay puts it up in his office and the locker room.
16) The disappearance of Fuller and Darious Williams.
The Unacceptable
17) QB Body Language. You’e the leader. I DEMAND 60 football minutes of unbridled unjustifiable optimism.
18) the team not being able to pull themselves together after a brutal first half. Looked like giving up to me. That’s unacceptable.
19) Having two gamers in a row where I don’t watch past the 3rd quarter.
20) Watching Phil Mickelson on with the Mannings saying “Well considering the 9ers are last in rush defense we should expect Mcvay to use it a little more.” He’s a golfer. We ran 9 times. And they were decent chunks I thought.
21) So, my fear here … Shanahan says early in the week “We’re going to impose our will” .. this means we will run and run and run. this sounds like a manhood challenge, it’s not. It’s inspiration to a team he believes in against a team he has had his way with for years. Sean McVay coming in to this should have heard “we’re going to run on you” and been like “K, they’re going to just run at us. All game. Bring a safety down in the box. Make them throw, make Garrapolo hold the ball. But it seems that instead of that, he said “We’re going to impose OUR will … we’re going to stop the run and throw all over you.” Instead of saying “Hey, these guys can’t stop the run … why don’t we just run on them?” I remember a while back when the Vikings were run stopping juggernauts. “How were the Patriots going to run on them?” Anyone remember that game? the Patriots didn’t run the ball the entire first half. Tom Brady just threw it like 30 times. then they were up by 4 TDs and the D line was gassed. So I hope McVay is humbled. I hope someone in his close circle is giving him good info. Because that game plan was deeply flawed and it was not too late to start running in the 3rd. Did no one have the balls to challenge his approach?
znModeratorEX-NFL PLAYER ZAC STACY BRUTALIZES EX-GF IN FRONT OF SON
https://www.tmz.com/2021/11/17/zac-stacy-nfl-domestic-violence-video-ex-girlfriend/?adid=social-twa
Former NFL running back Zac Stacy brutally attacked the mother of his child, punching her in the head before slamming her into a television as their 5-month-old son sat feet away … and the terrifying incident was captured on video.
TMZ Sports has learned … the disturbing altercation happened at 30-year-old Stacy’s ex-girlfriend’s home in Florida on Saturday.
We’re told Stacy became furious and aggressive with his ex during an argument … and that’s when video shows the former 5th-round pick swinging at her head before yanking her off a couch, tossing her across the room and into the TV.
The TV then falls on top of the woman as she tries to calm Stacy down … but he throws an object at her and storms into a corner.
Throughout the video, you can hear the woman begging Stacy to stop.
We’re told the woman called cops immediately after the altercation, but Stacy fled the scene before law enforcement was able to arrive.
We’re also told the woman applied for a restraining order for her and her son, but we have not yet confirmed that with police.
In the docs, Stacy’s ex claims the football player came over her house around 2 PM on Saturday … to see his son.
While there, she claims he flew into a jealous, violent rage.
“He punched me several times in the head! I begged him to stop because the baby was on the couch just a few feet from where he punched me,” the woman wrote in the restraining order application.
She continued … “He then picked me up and threw me into my TV. The TV began to fall abd he turned to make sure I wasn’t getting up. As I laid on the floor he began to yell at me, telling me I’m destructive. He then picked me up off the floor and off my feet and body slammed me into our son’s bouncy seat.”
That’s when Stacy’s ex says the RB said “I love you” to their baby boy, and bolted.
In the restraining order, the woman says “I fear for my life and my children’s lives.”
The woman says she went to the hospital … where she was treated for a possible head wound, as well as bumps and bruises.
znModeratorThere’s a video on twitter. I can’t bring myself to post it. It’s bad.
To be clear, I won’t say anything or judge if someone else posts it. But, I personally just can’t bring myself to do it.

Sean McVay is 50-24 as head coach of the #Rams. Against Kyle Shanahan, heās 3-6.25% of his losses have come against Shanahan.

According to Next Gen Stats, Jimmy Garoppolo averaged the 2nd-quickest time to throw (2.3s) of his career Monday night.Tough to get pressure on the QB when he’s throwing it so quickly.

Man, see people going after our raw rookie CB now, like Rochell was supposed to step in from Central Arkansas & be a shut down corner, lol. Rams screwed around & drafted a tiny WR & signed the diva DJax instead of fortifying the CB position, but yeah, blame the raw rookie CBCameron DaSilva@camdasilva
The 49ers ran the ball over and over and over against the Rams, yet Elijah Mitchell faced a loaded box (8+ defenders) just 7.41% of the time, according to Next Gen Stats.3rd-lowest rate in the NFL for Week 10.
Light boxes were a staple of Brandon Staley’s defense last year but at some point…adjust.
znModeratorSince his Week 9 injury, LA Rams offensive center Brian Allen has not looked the same. To no surprise, that coincides with the struggles on offense. So why haven't the LA Rams done anything about it? #LARams #NFLTwitter

Just picked up on something. To begin the game, they had Troy Re*der out there as the single LB in 5-1 fronts. Second half onward, it was Ernest Jones instead. Not sure if it was injury-related or not, but Re*der had a bruuuutal game. Guessing it was performance-related.

It of course is not the same game as last week. But as last week, it’s pretty clear that, if Stafford makes mistakes early on and turns the ball over, and Rams are up against any team that can control the ball and clock, they have not shown ability to adjust/compose themselves.Rams Brothers@RamsBrothers
One thing about Stafford that weāll absolutely discuss on the pod ā while he has all the talent in the world, you still have to build an offense around him.Think McVay fell in love with his talent/experience and forgot some of the intricate details that makes his offense great.

Good week for the Rams though. Seattle loses and falls farther back in the division and wild card.Bucs lose and Rams can go full game ahead with H2H advantage (won’t matter unless LAR win west).
ARZ loss means win on MNF would tie Rams for first in NFCW heading into bye.
J.B. Long@JB_Long
A win tomorrow night would give the Rams a very direct (which is not to say easy, by any means) path to the NFC’s top seed. A loss would be costly, not only in terms of win-loss but potential tie-breakers with ARI. -
