Jared Goff came into the 2020 playoff game against the Seahawks when it was 0-0, and won the game with a broken thumb on his throwing hand

There are still questions about the Rams becomes their turnover is so heavy. But then their replacement strategies are good too and their coaching is largely intact.

Secondary: there are pieces though we don’t know how they add up. There is no sign that things could just be bad. It’s possible that Fuller and Scott make a great duo.

LB: We know they will miss Miller but at the same time having Wagner should fix a weakness (run game, middle, short passing). Maybe Hollins can provide some outside rush, or someone else.

DL: Best DL in years. Robinson stepping up was great for the D and there’s no reason to expect he will backslide. Then there’s Donald, who, it is fair to say, can reasonably be considered more of a plus then a negative. 😎

OL: Maybe not as good? No reason to think they will tank. So there are some mild questions but there’s no way to know yet how good they will be but they should at least be solid.

TE/WR: Top unit, and that’s even with losing Woods and whether or not OBJ comes back. If OBJ comes back they could be unstoppable.

RB: Depends on health. Both Akers and Henderson get dinged up. They have shown they can get by even if the running game is being thwarted, as long as they keep making hand-offs and don’t abandon the run.

QB: Best 4th quarter qb ever from a Rams qb. Sometimes he is errant in quarters 1-3. If he improves when it comes to that then they just win.

If the Rams do go after Mathieu, they will need to get a Donald and maybe a Kupp extension done. Right now, they have around $7M. A reminder that they’ll need to sign their draft class. Rams were also VERY tight against it last year promoting players on/off PS.

Per source again: “Aside from the @RamsNFL  the Colts are the 1 team to come to Gilmore serious about a deal. They are still talking though and still feels like the Rams situation would be hard for him to pass up.”

My sense is Colts are really motivated to get something done with Stephon Gilmore, who visited yesterday — not just because it’s a position of need but because they think he can still play at a high level and would fit well. We’ll see if they can get a deal done. Nothing yet
