    Cards based on division record (4-2) vs Rams (3-2).

    ========

    So if the rams beat the 49ers and end up 4-2 in the division,
    the next tiebreaker is ‘common games’.

    How does the NFL break a tie within a division?

    Head-to-head record.
    Best win percentage in games played within the division.
    Best win percentage in common games.
    Best win percentage in games played within the conference.
    Strength of victory.
    Strength of schedule.

    Only saw the hilights, but it looked like Stafford has learned
    to just take the sack and not go all gunslinger under pressure.

    If there’s any optimism in wv-brain its because of Sony Michel
    and the run-blocking. Imagine playing in Green Bay in January
    without a hard-nosed running game.

    I thought the Rams would lose this game, so, Im quite pleased.

    Who is in first place now, Cards or Rams?

    Man, in the biggest game of the year for the Browns,
    they had to play without Baker Mayfield and Case Keenum.

    Lost by two points, i see.

    This season may need an asterisk. Or one of them spiky-covid-spheres.

    The Lions could easily be in the five or six win range.

    It will be interesting to see what they do about
    their QB situation. What do they think of Goff?

    With 1.5 sacks on Tuesday AD will pass Warren Sapp in career sacks. AD will amass in 8 seasons what Sapp did in 13 & he was a first ballot HOFer
    ==========

    A lot is written about AD, but a lot of it compares apples and oranges,
    or DTs to DEs or LBs, etc.

    This message above, says it all, though. Sapp is often considered
    the best DT of his generation. A human wrecking ball.
    AD should not be compared to edge rushers.

    Bucs and Cards fans have to be in shock this week.

    Packers and Chiefs are the onliest teams
    that look reliable at this point.

    I like The Matrix, a lot.

    Matrix II was so bad that I believe that The Matrix was kind of an accident. Matrix III got such bad reviews that I didn’t even watch it.

    Then I watched their TV show, Sensate8, or whatever it was. Started off really interesting, and lost its way.

    Seems like these sibling directors have really great concepts that exceed their storytelling reach. I dunno.

    And am I wrong that Keanu Reaves was a JOKE a few years ago? Like…terrible, terrible actor stuff, and now seems like he’s a saint.

    Media garbage, man. Don’t know.

    =============

    Yeah, I think the John Wick movies saved Keanu. For whatever reason,
    they were super-resonant to a lot of movie-goers. And it was not
    his acting that made them popular 🙂

    Ive never known what to think of this, btw:
    trans-matrix:https://www.gscene.com/arts/lilly-wachowski-confirms-the-matrix-is-a-trans-allegory/

    “…Director of popular 1999 film The Matrix and its sequels – alongside sister Lana – Lilly Wachowski has recently confirmed that the films were always meant to be an allegory for the trans experience. She told Netflix that when the film was produced, the ‘corporate world wasn’t ready’ for more explicit queer movie narratives but continued ‘I love how meaningful these films are to trans people. I’m glad that it has gotten out that that was the original intention.’

    I cant picture the rams beating the seahawks without
    Jalen Ramsey covering that big WR of theirs.

    Some of the talking heads i actually respect
    focused on Sony Michel this week. I agree. Think they need
    to toughen the F up, and pound the ball more.

    We need to start proving that we can beat physical teams. If we get in as a Wild-Card…

    ==========

    Yeah thats the thing. Titans, 49ers, Packers just beat them like dogs.

    This game did nothing to give me confidence the rams can beat a
    pitbull of a team.

    You know what ‘would’ give me confidence — if the Rams handled
    the 49ers in that last game.

    Then again, what happens if that game means zero to the rams
    playoff positioning, and it means everything to the 49ers.

    I dunno.

    Midseason, it looked like five teams were all bunched together.
    Now, it looks like Packers and Bucs are a top tier,
    and Cards, Cowboys and Rams are a second tier.

    We’ll see. Lots can happen tween now and the playoffs.

    I dunno what that was.

    If they can play like that with people out, why cant they play like that
    all the time?

    I’m inclined to think it was more about the Cards playing bad
    than the Rams playing good. But i dunno.

    Only watched the hi lites, but looked like WRs were having to make
    adjustments to the passes all game long.

    Stafford’s just not as accurate as he was earlier in the year.
    I’m assuming his mystery-injuries are affecting him.

    Does not bode well for the future.

    I expect fewer pick-6s than usual.

    I’m also expecting a really ugly, physical, penalty-filled game
    as the Jags try to bully the rams and the rams try not to be bullied.

    I haven’t seen any specifics. Just generalized stuff: back pain, ankle, and throwing arm…

    ..Bottom line for me: I think McVay is a good coach, and Snead is a pretty good GM. But they have their share of major whiffs…

    ===

    Well, an injured/beaten-up QB needs a good OLine.

    And the Rams drafted a tutu instead of an OLineman.

    Thats still my biggest gripe this year.

    But that’s what they did last year.

    And Williams was MUCH, MUCh better last year.

    Why?

    ============

    Well, I dunno. But I’m guessing Staley had a better feel
    for situational football.

    But yeah, Williams is a mystery.

    …if they lose to Jax, this will be quite a collapse.

    Yeah, I saw that. He was very critical of the way the DC is using Jalen.

    I dunno.

    Thing is, whoever they assign Jalen to, the opposing QB is just
    gonna throw it to someone else. Its the other DBs who have
    to step up, and apparently they cant.

    About the only hope i see, is maybe Von Miller can make
    a difference down the stretch. If he doesnt then Snead
    was dum and soft.

    Just focusing on the offense here but Stafford’s first year in it he loses Akers in Camp then Funk Mundt Harris Atwell Woods for the season Skowronek last week after a bye trying to hurriedly implement OBJ and deal with several lingering injuries. Looking at the first 8 games some of the amazing throws that Goff wouldn’t make on his best day. He didn’t suddenly become an awful QB. Late November at Lambeau he lost a 1 possession game to the same Packers team that beat the Cards while down 5 starters.

    ==========

    Bad news either way.
    If the problem is Stafford, it aint gonna get better.
    If the problem is injuries to Stafford and the Oline, and Woods, Akers, etc,
    that aint gonna get better either.

    At any rate, I love the fact that they finish up against the 49ers.
    I hope both teams need that game to make the damn playoffs.
    Let the rams earn it, If they can, agains the bullies who have
    beat them up five times in a row.

    I disagree. Yes, i think Stafford is a significant upgrade over Goff.

    I say that because of what i saw in the first batch of Ram games.
    So what has happened? Has ‘the real stafford’ shown up?
    Maybe.

    But my own speculation is that
    Stafford is hurt,
    the OLine has not played well and is wearing down,
    Losing Woods was huge,
    Running game is not scaring anyone.

    I mean, we know great QBs can suck when the surrounding pieces
    disintegrate. I watched Russell Wilson a while back and he looked
    absolutely awful. Is he a bum now?

    Having said all that, Im not sure of any of this.
    Its possible Stafford is Jeff George. Could be.
    But at this point, I’m not persuaded.
