    Watched the hi lites. I’ll have to watch all of this one.
    Looked like a tough, hardnosed game against a well-coached home-team
    desperate for a win.

    Looked like Stafford was off again. On again. Again.
    Throwin behind people. But still threatening the whole field and stuff.

    12 Wins after sixteen games. I dunno. I dunno what to think of
    this team.

    John Harbaugh is 4-0 against the Rams as HC of The Ravens….

    John Harbaugh’s Ravens have outscored the Rams 120-29

    =============

    I did not know that, but…Good. I like it.

    Finish up against Harbaugh and Shannahan, both of whom
    have owned the Rams.

    Lets see what McStafford can accomplish.

    For whatever this marriage of ESPN and PFF is worth, the Rams are clearly superior in the trenches to any other team in the league, and it is not close.

    ==========

    Except when they actually play the 49ers. On the field.

    And Green Bay. And Tennessee.

    With future HOF John Wolford on the bench, I hardly think this is an issue.

    Stafford will be back the following week. To lose to the Cowboys.

    =========

    Jeezus, is that Wolford guy still the back-up?

    I thought we all liked the other guy. Forget his name.

    Goff was good enough to get the Rams to a Super Bowl.

    Stafford > Goff.

    And I wish Stafford was more consistent. I can accept a QB who makes an occasional bad decision, like the 1st INT to Jefferson. It was a good throw, but a bad choice.

    I don’t know what to do with the throws that miss the receiver by several yards. And like Goff, Stafford makes those WTF throws a couple times a game.

    =================

    That Ram super bowl year was an odd one. Talent all thru that roster. I had forgotten how much talent: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/ram/2018_roster.htm

    Gurley/CJ Anderson, R. Woods, C. Kupp, B Cooks, Higbee, Gerald Everett, Whitworth, John Sullivan, Roger Saffold, Havenstein.

    Goff.

    Brockers, Suh, ADonald, Littleton, Marcus Peters, Talib, L Joyner. Ekuban. Mark Barron.

    Started 8-0. Then Saints put 45 on em.

    As great as they looked at mid-season, they did not look great after the 54-51 Chiefs game. Next came Detroit, and the offense never quite looked the same. Bears beat em up. Lost to Philly. Beat the 49ers in the last game.

    Looked great against Dallas in the playoffs. But then the war against the Saints,
    and the three points against Belichick.

    I hope some sorta lessons were learned. I dunno.

    Look at the Yards per pass attempt, fwiw.
    QB stats:https://www.espn.com/nfl/stats/player

    I’m wondering how that 8.1 yards per attempt compares to
    Goff, Bradford, Warner, Bulger…

    Just curious.

    On the INTs, some of Stafford’s interceptions are among the
    WORST i have ever seen from a ram QB. I mean some of them are just WTF-INTs.

    But for the most part, Stafford’s stats are top-5.

    So any fair analysis of him, has to account for the top-5 overall stat part,
    as well as the occasional WTF INT part.

    I want no part of playing the 9ers in consecutive weeks.

    My preferred super bowl run would be thru:

    49ers
    Cowboys
    Packers

    Patriots.

    I still remember that game where Lamar Jackson made the rams look
    like one-legged keystone cops. It was a massacre.

    I havent followed the ravens much, but i guess Lamar is still fighting
    an ankle injury. So, even if he plays, I suppose he wont be the
    player he was on the night of the massacre.

    Ravens are always tough, hard-nosed team though. I’m glad the Rams finish
    up against two tough teams. I wanna see how they play against the Ravens
    and 49ers.

    Vikings are 2-4 when they are Plus-2 or better, in the turnover ratio.

    Thus, McVay and Stafford had the perfect game plan.

    Only saw the highlights so far.

    Stafford is a bit of an enigma, aint he. The reason I suspect
    ‘part’ of the problem is nagging-injuries is because of that deep throw
    to Van Jefferson that was underthrown and intercepted. Why the underthrow?
    Stafford has a cannon. He made that exact throw not too long ago for a TD.
    I’m not saying all his issues are reducible to injuries, but i suspect
    thats part of it. Ah well. He’s had four clunkers I’d say, and eleven good games.

    Gotta hope he aint bad-stafford in the playoffs.

    Defense, Sony, kicking-game — team is looking like a solid playoff team
    now.

    We are blessed.

    Fournette and Godwin out for year?

    Thats huge. Both are such physical, heart-and-soul players on that team.

    I’d be very surprised if the Bucs can overcome that.

    Cooper Kupp is on pace for 1,973 receiving yards this season
    That would break Calvin Johnson’s single-season NFL record of 1,964 yards Flushed face
    ===============

    This kind of statement infuriates me.

    They play 17 games this year. Calvin set that record in a 16 game season.

    That fact should be stated every time someone starts yapping about
    a ‘record being broken’ this year.

    “…and also still expect to get second-year back CAM AKERS active in time for a playoff run, if not sooner. McVay told The Athletic in October that Akers (who tore his Achilles when working out off-site before training camp) was on track to make a postseason return. He may actually be able to at least return to practice in some capacity in the weeks prior to any postseason run…” J.Rodrigue

    Matthew Stafford seems like the LE model of Jared Goff. He’s better, but they sure look alike in their inconsistency. They both make these amazing throws sprinkled with WTF throws. That first INT Stafford threw was terrible..

    ===========

    Several different views of M.Stafford on this lil board.
    Joemad thinks he’s worse-than-goff,
    you think he’s Goff-LE, and
    wv thinks he’s a top-5-QB.

    I dunno. I cant explain that 3 game stretch where he was bad, except,
    maybe he was fighting off some nagging injuries. But i dunno.
    He sucked for three games, though. But the other 11 games? The stats
    are top-5. And lately, without Robert Woods, which is a huge loss.

    I think we ALL agree the key to the season now, is the running game.
    Give Stafford a running game, and the rams are very dangerous.
    The whole personality of this team changes. I mean for three solid weeks
    they looked like wimps. A finesse team. Easily bullied by the Titans, 49ers, etc.

    McVay had to have seen that, and figured out they need to pound Sony Michel
    and regain some semblance of power-strength-attitude.

    Now they look like a playoff team. They look tougher. More like New England.
    The Hollywood team looks more like a serious football team.

    It aint about Stafford. Its about run-blocking and a guy named Sony.

    Not quite the media version of the ‘star-studded’ rams.
