wvParticipantFOX isn’t the only outlet that paints Sanders as “Scary Socialist Guy” who can’t win. The 1st question that George Streptococcus asked in the New Hampshire debate was if Sanders or Mayor Buttcheeks were too big a risk for the Dems if either of those candidates won the nomination….. that topic dominated the 1st 12 minutes of the debate.>
======================
Well, but Fox isnt ‘only’ pushing the meme that Sanders is a scary commie. They WILL run will with that IF he is the nominee. But Fox is doin somethin else right NOW. Somethin more subtle. They are giving Bernie some love. They are attacking the Dem-Media for cheating, and lying, and ignoring Bernie. FOX is actually giving bernie more love than the corporate-DEM-press.
Its fascinating.
btw, Fox on Biden. No Dem has ever been nominated who didnt finish first or second in Iowa. O my.

wvParticipantThe marketing strategy reflected in this vid is interesting. Its almost like… a combination of Game of Thrones and a Recruiting Ad for the Marines.
Its worth watchin if yer interested in the dark-arts of propaganda/advertising in Amerika.St.Louis now has a football team…the BattleHawks.
Tampa Vipers
New York Guardians
Seattle Dragons
Los Angeles “showtime with a snarl” Wildcats
Washington DC Defenders
Houston Roughnecks
Dallas RenegadesI think we should keep an eye on the Battlehawks. Just as a tip of the hat to our old brothers and sisters in St.Looey.
PS — Oliver Luck is a corporate-dick-head who was President of WVU, in morgantown.

wvParticipantGood stuff. I love the fact Bernie goes on Fox. If nothing else he gets to practice responding to the corporate-memes that are gonna keep coming at him from the Dems and Reps.
I love the way the Foxies quote Corporate-Dems and act like the Corporate-Dems represent some kindof ‘reasonable middle ground’.
The biosphere is so very fucked.

They can’t cut him either. If they cut TG it would subtract 8.4 M from the Rams cap (and at present they have 20 M in cap space).I don’t think trying to be tough with the guy would accomplish anything. Besides I don’t think he’s done.
Backs have been productive before on arthritic knees. Heck Faulk was productive his final year with the Rams and at that point his knee was far worse than TG’s is now. TG has already showed both that he’s not his old self AND that he can still be productive, especially in the redzone, where he is instinctive and fierce. It won’t be the old Gurley but he can still produce.
Is the OL an issue in the running game? Probably–looks that way. Can it improve? Sure, if they play their cards right. Will that mean we see the old Gurley? No–but as I said he can still be productive and an improved OL could only help with that.
============
Yeah, i agree with all that…but I’d just add, I’m a bit skeptical that they can run the gauntlet and win a ring with a merely ‘productive’ RB. I suspect they’d need an outstanding running/receiving threat to go all the way.
Therefore I say they should just forfeit the whole season next year.

wvParticipantI would have to say the GSOT tho admittedly I am biased.
Mahomes is just a beyond comparison qb, but, the GSOT didn’t just have Warner, they had Faulk and Bruce and Holt and as we all know it doesn’t stop there.
Mahomes has good weapons but he doesn’t have Faulk, Bruce, and Holt. That’s 3 hall of famers (including Warner obviously) and counting.
500 points a season, 3 in a row. When the rules were not quite as pro-offense as they are now.
———————-
Its a fair comparison, but yeah, for me, Faulk gives the edge to the Rams.
Having said that, the Chiefs may not have a Personnel-idiot leading them into the future, so they may gain another Ring or two.

wvParticipantFrankly, i just dont care about the ‘logo’. I care about the Helmets.
I also dunno why teams only have one logo. I would have more than one. I think I’d like to see a silhouette of the Fearsome Foursome. Ya know, like the NBA has that silhouette of Jerry West. Do one of the fearsome foursome.
I also think Leftist Ram fans should have a logo.
Maybe Karl Marx with horns.w

wvParticipantNo-one is trading for him. He’s got arthritic knees. He’ll be a Ram next year, and it’ll look a lot like it did this year. Which aint good.
And as for this: “…A very expensive decision they have but considering what he played through, how much pain in the knee and how much of a focus has been on him, you can certainly understand why at least all options are on the table here…”
Um….what reporter ever actually wrote ‘anything’ about how much knee-pain he was ‘playing through.’ ?
w
vThe reporter assumes an arthritic knee is painful. He’s also assuming the pain was “strong” given the lack of carries this year compared to the previous years and the fact that he most certainly didn’t look like the same player as before. Neither of these assumptions are invalid. Ask any person who has arthritis following a serious surgery.
==============
Well, i wasnt really clear with what i was expressing. I have no doubt he was playing in pain and was going thru a lot, etc. But what annoys me is no-one was WRITING about it AT THE TIME. Where was the press AT THE TIME? They were all blaming McVay for not using him more, or they were all acting like it was this great MYSTERY as to what was goin on with Gurley, etc.
NOW, the press comes along and lo and behold they wanna talk about how Gurley should take a pay cut or whatever because he HAS A BAD KNEE. Where were they all season? Yeah. Duh. He played in pain, with a bad knee. No big Mystery.
I’m annoyed at the PRESS, not at Gurley.
….although….i HAVE wondered if Gurley knew about his knee BEFORE he signed that big contract. Did he have an obligation to be open about it, IF he knew?

vFebruary 8, 2020 at 12:14 pm in reply to: Russell Wilson calling out Seahawks on their offense #111096
wvParticipantI dunno. Very interesting debate/conversation, really. Its a league-wide thing, not just a Seahawk thing. And it recurs over and over.
Pete came within a hair of winning Two rings with that Run first offense. He’s had many many playoff teams with that offense. Why change it? Why not just draft another great RB and play the same style?
OTOH, Russell is a very bright man. Maybe he knows what he’s talkin about. Maybe its not just QB-ego talkin.
You can trace this kinda discussion back many years. Back in the day, A lot of teams wanted to copy the GSOT and be more ‘exciting’ and fan-friendly.
But then the Bucs and Ravens won big with Big-Bad-Defense, and a lot of that talk went away.
Many paths to the mountaintop. Hard to say if the Seahawks are more suited to a Ground-first attack or somethin else.

wvParticipantBilly: It’s not that “they” are angry over people getting health care or student debt relief. It’s that they “believe” they will have to pay for it-either in tax increases or in losing their own private doctors and care. It doesn’t matter that they may or may not be right but that is how the Trump machine will force them to look at it-his way. I keep harping back to Kennedy’s innauguration
Throughout this thread, W, you keep wringing your hands over how OTHER people will perceive it.
Take a stance.
And work to make people understand it.

Well when W is talking about THE VOTERS, I think his stance is that Bernie is UNelectable, Because a critical mass of voters are too conservative to vote for him.

wvParticipantCourse Trump winning and Bernie Winning are totally different situations.
I mean, Trump really wasnt that out of step with Reps or Corporate-Dems. I mean not really. They were for Deregulation and he went wild with it. He wasnt qualitatively different in my view. Just more extreme. Trump and the Rep/Dems were basically ‘going in the same direction’ — Trump just ramped things up.
Bernie otoh, if he were to somehow get himself elected — would be trying to steer the corporate-vehicle in a completely DIFFERENT direction. He’d be opposed by the Reps AND Dems. WTF would a Bernie presidency even look like, given ‘that’ ugly situation?
