It will be nice to see some cold air in the stadium, it could help with you constantly getting burned down the field.

    Ouch!

    All just bad luck? Maybe.

Certainly the Jets nose dived after he left.

But I don’t see what made him “special” in any way and while I hate the system change, he doesn’t stand out as someone who is an elite OC in any way.

The biggest issue I have and had with losing him was changing the system.

I think maybe BS’s Jets may have been no.1 in Rushing?

If they are going to do it.

If Stan has made up his mind and that’s that, I’d rather they just packed the buses and played at the Rose Bowl for a couple of years.

There is no point in putting the fans of St. Louis through a false hope, lame duck year. It’s not good for the fans, the players, the organization, the league, anyone.

But you also didn’t get stadiums.

    So how serious were they.

If you are an NFL Owner, who votes,
what is the Downside to letting Stan take the team
away from St.Louis and bring it back to Los Angeles ?

I’m trying to understand the possible downsides,
from the point of view of various Owners.

Whats the downside? Why would owners vote against it?

I wonder if there is a group of owners that dont
care one way or the other.

    w
    v

Maybe the owners are wary of NFL teams becoming nomad teams–rental teams to the highest bidding cities that can sustain a stadium for a few years until the next city puts a better deal together. After awhile communities become disconnected from teams. It becomes purely a television sport with fans supporting whoever they like, wherever they play.

Some teams could be hurt by that. If they don’t get on television to recruit new fans and they can’t fill stadiums with local supporters who thumb their noses at $10,000 PSLS, the league becomes more have and have nots.

I have put my brain to this and this is what I have come up with.

Or, maybe there is no downside.

Whatever the case–unless there is a sudden announcement that the Rams are staying–this is going to be one ugly season in St. Louis. The opposing teams fans will find good seats available and there won’t be much of a homefield advantage.

The only game I care about in terms of who wins is the Packers game.

Dallas didn’t earn it, IMO. So I HOPE the Packers knock them out this round.

If Dallas advances on some other controversial call it won’t be good.

It’s crazy, really. 45 grand for the RIGHT to buy season tickets.

    No thanks.

    I’ll just watch on television.

If that gets too expensive I’ll find something else to do with my time.

I’m confuzed — this article sez the LA Stadium wont be finished until 2018. So does that mean if the rams move, they will
play somewhere else for a coupla years?

…the Inglewood plan is submitted to voters this year and approved as planned, the new stadium could be ready in 2018. With no taxpayer money in play, Butts said voters will be asked to modify zoning to include a stadium on a related development project that will spread over 298 acres, including the 60 acres owned by The Kroenke Group.

“I’ve known Stan for years, and Stan is a measured, deliberate person who makes very good business decisions, often using patience to do so,” Ganis said. “If he says he’s just going to build it himself and take the league on in court, what have you done? You’ve built a stadium, and you possibly lose in court and you’re out a billion and a half dollars? That’s not a rational way to go about it, and Stan is very rational man.”
Still, Ganis doesn’t believe this stadium will be built on spec.

“To the extent that anybody has said that, I’ll take the other side to that bet,” Ganis said. “It just doesn’t happen, not when you’re talking about a billion-plus dollars.”

Goodell will make them play all road games, except for the three they have to play in England where they will be designated as “home” team.

I can’t decide whether Stan is going rogue or if he’s just playing the game.

If his ultimate goal is to move the team–increase its value–sell to another owner and just rent out the stadium to the Rams/Raiders and collect big bucks forever, he probably doesn’t care what the other owners think. Only Stan knows and he ain’t talkin’. Apparently he’s not even returning calls to the St. Louis mayor.

    Billionaires can do that stuff.

Well, let’s say that St. Louis keeps the name, “Rams”.

If St. Louis doesn’t get a team for a few years the Rams cease to exist.

Maybe they never get a team.

    Maybe they become the Oilers.

In a case like that I’d probably become a “Surf” fan since that’s where the players are I was following.

    It would be weird.

    Very weird.

Stan could always rent or sell the stadium to the Raiders.

    He’s a real estate guy–who knows.

It sure looks like he’s planning to move the team. Is it a big bluff? No idea.

I’d love to hear the “behind-the-scenes” chatter of the owners. I’d say that they all probably know what’s going to happen and it may end up being a deal where moving trucks pull out in the middle of the night.

    We’ll see.

Winston actually “Quarterbacked” better. He used more head movement, and threw with better anticipation of the field than Mariota did. Reminded me why I held him in such high esteem before he started his boneheaded mistake filled year. If he wasn’t a knucklehead I’d draft him over Mariota, but being a knucklehead is something you have to grow out of, and that doesn’t happen overnight.

All 3 of these guys threw one baaaad ball and got it picked. All 3 guys recovered and kept pushing.

I hope he doesn’t drop to #10 and force the Rams into making a bad decision.

I think taking him would be a HUGE mistake.

I don’t think Mariota or Winston are sure things. They are not Manning or Luck.

It’s a weak QB draft and by lack of competition they’ve floated to the top. That doesn’t mean either will be good at the next level. I have this nightmare of Winston falling to # 8 or #9 nor #10 and Fisher sitting there saying–well–I guess we gotta get him now.

I don’t want him anywhere near this team. His talent isn’t THAT special. And even if it is–I just see a knucklehead and sometimes you can’t fix that–it just gets worse.

    No thanks.

I really can’t recall a year when officiating has been THIS bad.

The NFL has to address it or they will start to lose disgusted fans.

I don’t know–more replay challenges? More types of things challengeable? I don’t know but these guys on the field obviously can’t do the job and it looks either incompetent or corrupt. Either way, it’s bad for the league.

The NFL sure does want that Dallas vs Green Bay match-up next week, huh? ;)

    Just horrible.

    And obvious.

They should have to explain that one.

Plus the blatant holding they missed on the T.D.

Carden’s team lost to Florida 28-20.

    His stats:

    34-66 427 yards 2 T.D.s 2 Ints.

Not much of a scrambler or runner.

Rushed 9 times for -14 yards.

His last interception was pretty terrible—in the redzone he lofted a floater at the endzone to a guy well covered. Easy pick.

Just saw the highlights–didn’t watch the game.

The list does nothing for me.

    It leaves me cold.

    The rookies leave me cold.

I mean–they have to grab someone–but honestly, is there any real upgrade over Hill and Davis who already know the system?

    Who is that guy?

I just believe that success lies in fixing the offensive line and HOPING Bradford stays healthy–and if he doesn’t, the o-line is good enough to protect Davis or Hill and they run the ball better.

    I don’t see great options.

    That’s half.

Can’t watch a second half of this. K-State just doesn’t look like a threat at all.

As for Hundley—who knows? He can run for sure. That’s interesting. Some of his passes were a bit off and he hasn’t made any spectacular throws–but I’d say his arm is strong enough.

Depends on what the Rams want, I guess.

I don’t watch college football so I am no one to judge on this but just the little I’ve seen, I’d say I like Hundley’s legs and Bryce Petty’s arm. Can we assemble that and go from there?

I would at least consider taking either in the second round–but not at #10 in the first.
