Why are they mad at Fox news?
w
vFox News was among the first news outlets to call some of the contested states like Arizona for Biden, even when more liberal outlets like CNN and MSNBC were unwilling to do so. The first I heard of Trump supporters chanting FOX NEWS SUCKS was outside of one of the state govt buildings in Arizona where votes were being counted. They were also chanting STOP THE COUNT, which, of course, was misguided since their candidate was behind and therefore the only chance he had was to continue the count.
nittany ramModeratorIf you fear Trump's election-fraud lawsuits will affect the outcome of the election, this should allay your fears. His lawyers didn't bother to file even basic docs to move this appeal forward. That's b/c they don't care about litigating it, only about getting it into the news. https://t.co/dQtzvqXyS3

A substantive, aggressive plan:
– Tens of millions of tests
– Double drive-through testing sites
– Govt. investment in instant and at-home testing
– A real mobilization of contact tracing.Guys, this could actually work. pic.twitter.com/sQzIWb61tR

nittany ramModerator…and Trump will be in jail, or in exile. Even if he skates from accountability for his crimes again, he’ll be 78 in 2024, with all kinds of the proverbial “co-morbidities.” I doubt he’ll even attempt another run, even if he had the health to do so.
I wonder if behind-the-scenes Trump will offer a “peaceful transition of power” in exchange for not being prosecuted.
I also wonder how many people in his administration will try to cash in on the most corrupt presidency in history by writing “tell-all” books – where they describe all the juicy details while pretending they weren’t complicit – ala Albert Speer.

nittany ramModeratorI had to work so I didn’t see the game, but the consensus on the internet says the blame falls on McVay and Goff.
McVay is a great play designer and game planning strategist, but perhaps he lacks tactical (play calling) awareness?
Goff keeps making the same mistakes he always makes. I think Goff has reached his ceiling. He’s not going to get better than he is now. He’s still good enough to win with, but he’s likely not going to be more than a second level QB.
nittany ramModeratorGood win. Running game was humming against a good defense.
Goff seems to have regressed a bit over the last two games. Missed some open receivers again. Not as sharp as he was in the first 5 games.
nittany ramModeratorBears are 6 point underdogs I see.
Not much respect for a 5-1 team with wins over Tampa Bay and a respectable Carolina team.
Anybody feeling better about the loss to the 9ers now after seeing what they did to New England?
nittany ramModeratorhow do you even do contact tracing in a country where no one picks up unknown numbers because the FTC spent hyears doing nothing about scammers and robocalls

nittany ramModeratorI just don’t buy this “game you should win” thing on this game. I think that thing adds to the feelings of disappointment without adding anything real to actual analysis. Actual analysis, IMO, says that they were much more evenly matched than many of us thought in advance.
I agree with that. Forget I said “game they should win” and replace it with “game I really really wanted them to win because I am more emotionally invested in it than I am when they play, say Buffalo, for instance, given who the opponent is…”
I myself was pretty sure they were going to lose. I even predicted it in the thread about the game.
But for me that doesn’t lessen the pain of losing (now three straight) to the 9ers.
nittany ramModeratorI see too much despair out there around the net. I need two losses like that before I feel that kind of despair.
Goff was off. But then also he had protection against the league’s 5th best team in terms of bringing pressure. The main issue on offense was the fact that the SF CBs limited the Rams WRs. Yet at the same time the Rams could run the ball against the league’s 5th ranked defense, 8th in terms of ypc allowed.
The Rams D was stymied but then that was against a team that was bouncing back from a horrible road loss the week before. Rams run D is always going to be an issue this year but then the Rams D also did their “limit scores in the 2nd half” number, and that makes 6 games now.
Rams always seem to have Seattle’s number. SF under Shanahan have had the Rams number. It’s just how the teams match up. I don’t think the season is over and I don’t feel the angst of this loss like some do. I think they will bounce back.
I don’t disagree with that. The Rams are a work in progress. Going into last night I didn’t think they were a serious Super Bowl contender yet. I think they need a major upgrade at LB/DL and a WR that can really stretch the defense. Is Van Jefferson a burner? Maybe he eventually can do that. Right now I think they are exactly what they appear to be – a second tier team (playoffs but not Super Bowl material).
But losing to the 9ers is always going to sting more than losing to any other team. Especially when it’s a game you should win. It also pisses me off that Shanahan has been getting the better of McVay.
nittany ramModeratorI don’t know that I agree with the “hurting ourselves“ excuse as the reason for the loss. That sorta implies SF had nothing to do with it.
SF whipped our front 7. Completely dominated them. I think our front 7 is a weakness overall. The Rams don’t have much outside of Donald on the DL and the LBs are journeymen.
From the start McVay went away from what made the Rams offense successful this season. He wanted to spread the 9ers defense out and pick on their secondary instead of doing what they’ve had so much success with this season – Using a balanced run/pass approach with short passing, play action, roll outs, etc.
McVay can be his worst enemy in that he often out thinks himself. I think he did that last night.
Shanahan on the other hand new exactly how to neutralize Donald and exploit the weaknesses of the Rams defense.
nittany ramModeratorI sometimes wonder if the Rams WRs can consistently get open unless they are ‘schemed’ open. I don’t know that Woods and Kupp can just line up and beat someone.
I think of the two offensive “geniuses” Shanahan is the better coach.
nittany ramModeratorThat’s quite a brush with fame there, Mack. Not quite on the level of being retweeted by a Python, but cool.
Being retweeted by John Cleese practically makes you a Python yourself. You should probably wait by your phone for the inevitable call asking you to be in their next film.
nittany ramModeratorThanks for posting that, Joe.
Van Halen was the first band I really got into. They shaped my taste in music. Any rock I hear is measured against their standard. EVH was amazing. His unique blend of licks and harmonics – he had the coolest sound of any rock guitarist there ever was.
I never got into “Van Hagar”. The music seemed to change. Got too commercial. I did like Roth’s band with Steve Vai, Billy Sheehan, and Greg Bissonette. Saw them in concert with Tesla as the opening act. I was very happy when Roth rejoined VH a few years ago.
Tough to lose EVH. He and VH were such an important part of my musical universe.
nittany ramModeratorThis is a must win for the 9ers. Their entire season rests on this game. Lose this game and they’re 2-4 overall and 0-2 in the toughest division in football.
As much as it pains me to say this, especially knowing that it will put a smile on wv’s face, I think the 9ers are going to win a close, ugly, game.

5. Minnesota Vikings – 81.0 pic.twitter.com/DPfLHWADwk— PFF (@PFF) October 15, 2020
Hard to take this list seriously given that the Vikings are on it and the Chiefs aren’t.

nittany ramModeratorI dunno, but i just think this is what the Rams Offense looks like when you take away the run. The Giants took away the run. And when that happens, all those short passes by the rams dont amount to much.
right now i’m thinking it’s one of two things.
either mcvay has no plan for when the rams run game is stalled.
or mcvay knows the oline can’t hold up if they go too pass heavy.
the other possibility of course is that goff needs the run game to thrive. i don’t think that’s the case though. goff looked good today.
While watching yesterday’s display of offensive ineptitude, I wondered what happened to the Rams’ downfield passing game? The one medium to deep ball they connected on yesterday (Kupp TD) was a blown coverage.

Do they really think they can hold the Rams to 37 points?
I hope someone hangs this in the Rams locker room.
