ParticipantCarson Palmer carved up the Rams pretty good last year up until he got hurt.
joemad
ParticipantFoles is ranked 14th in QBR……
Andrew Luck is last, with a 65 QBR…..

Participanti just looked up 3rd down conversion rates……. I can’t believe there are 3 teams worse than the Rams in 3rd down conversions….(Philly, Tampa, and KC)
Sometimes I think the Rams should punt on 3rd down…, they cannot move the friggin chains…
I agree with a lot on this thread…
a) Foles is not that accurate,
b) New line and QB need to gel…
c) when will Kendricks learn to consistently catch a friggin ball?I can’t recall seeing a team not capitalize on so many opportunities like the Rams blew yesterday….they had their chances to win…. but just can’t execute on fundamentals..

September 24, 2015 at 10:19 pm in reply to: Feeling good about Sunday…the "will Rams beat Steelers" thread #31126joemad
ParticipantI can’t believe Pitt is only favored by 1 this Sunday.
Steelers are 1-1 but played a decent 2nd half in vs the Pats and maybe could’ve played a decent 1st half in Foxborough if their headsets worked….
joemad
ParticipantFucking back up to Tony Banks in Baltimore and back up to Shawn Hill in SF?? Fuck this guy…
He’s lucky he only needed to complete 12 passes in the Super Bowl. Ravens won in spite of him.
September 18, 2015 at 1:21 pm in reply to: High school players who attacked official say coach told them to do it #30800joemad
Participantwhen I first saw this, I had little doubt that the coaches called this.
joemad
ParticipantI was livid with DirecTV. They’re garbage.
You’re right GamePass has its quirks but it’s pretty stable, much much better than last year…
I’m no longer prisoner with my TV on Sunday… I can go out get shit done while having the game on the radio… live … then come home and watch the Ram game instead of the NBC Sunday night game….
I just finished watching the game for 2nd time this week….
joemad
ParticipantYes, it was only $30 last year, but there are additional services provided…
Differences are:
1) games are available to watch after the last 1PM (Pacific)game is finished. Last year games were not available until Monday
2) All games are available via live audio. Last season they did not have radio broadcast. This is actually kind of cool, because you get DeMarco and the Rams broadcast of the game or you can pick the opponents radio broadcast
3) this year you can watch the games on Apple TV on your TV. Last year you were only allowed to watch the game on your internet device (smartphone, tablet notebook, or computer etc)
You get same other BS of condensed games, highlights, muted coaches film etc…. as last year
BNW: Jax and SF markets do not get doubleheader this weekend:
home local market team restrictions apply for doubleheader rules…
If a local franchise is playing at home (Oakland) and the broadcast is shown by the network carrying only one game (CBS), the other network (which shows the doubleheader (FOX) may only air one game in that market; either early or late (the slot which the local franchise is not playing);
joemad
ParticipantNot only does SF Market not get the Rams game. we do not get the FOX Double header (Eagles vs Cowboys)
SF @ Pitt in the AM FOX
Balt @ Oak in the PM CBSThis is the 1st time in 18 seasons that I did not subscribe to Sunday Ticket. It took me 55 minutes to cancel my DirecTV subscription on the phone. DirecTV does not allow you to cancel service on-line or in an automated fashion. I hate them. I could not justify the total cost of over $500 bucks this season to watch games…. fuck them. I could not believe that they left me on hold for that long to cancel…
So I ordered Game Pass for $99. You get the games live via audio (your choice of broadcast team Rams or opponent) then you can watch any NFL game for the past 4 years after the Sunday blackout time period (Sundays from 10 AM to 4:30 PM PT)
Game Pass allows you to watch the game on Apple TV, where last year you could not on NFLReplay.
September 16, 2015 at 3:12 pm in reply to: Wow, how thunk that? (Seattle game reaction thread) #30660joemad
ParticipantI was out of town for this game, thus missed game chat with “TheRamsHuddle” folks, but I was able to watch most of the game live and was in a group text with some Rams buddies during the game….
anyway, I always rip Tavon any chance I get to rib my Ram buddies… I’m not high on Tavon and they absolutely love him….
When Seattle scored their 1st TD on the punt return, I blamed Tavon on my texts for calling fair catch on the Rams 1st possession, then the loss of yardage by Tavon on the Rams initial drive that pinned the Rams at the 1 and forced the punt…. my buddies let me have it the rest of the game….
I understood why Tavon fair caught the ball (on the 10) but he did have space to run……ala the Colts game from a few seasons back….
Am I a believer in Tavon? Not 100% sold, but Cignetti and Foles hav the ability to use Tavon moreso than the clip board QBs that have played the past 2 seasons……
BTW, Jared Cook was an unsung hero in this game, big plays that moved the chains…. and Stedman Bailey was clutch…….
BTW, where is Brian Quick?
GO TAVON!!!!
joemad
ParticipantMoose Johnson stated after the failed 4th – 1 (paraphrasing) that he didn’t like shotgun formation runs on 4th and s… should have had QB lined up under center…..
Ironically, on the 4th qtr game tying TD drive by Foles, the Rams ran a very similar play on 3rd – 1 with Benny Cunningham and it worked to move the chains….
3-1-STL 25
(3:49) (Shotgun) 36-B.Cunningham right tackle to STL 28 for 3 yardsjoemad
ParticipantThis game was an auspicious debut for OC Frank Cignetti, who in one week out-called every game of the Brian Schottenheimer Era, and probably every game of the Brian Schottenheimer Career. Bobby Wagner is very possibly the NFL’s best linebacker, but never looked more befuddled,
I’m not dissing Brian Schottenheimer , but Cigs has a great history of explosive offenses at Fresno State…. it was refreshing to see the offense clicking, but in fairness to Brian Schotty, I’m not sure Davis, Clemmens, or Shawn Hill could execute as well as Foles did for Cigs last week in the closing minutes of the regulation and in OT….I’m still not over that Shawn Hill goal line INT in San Diego last season that eliminated the Rams last year…..
Rams have WAC rivals (now Mountain West) in the booth helping the offense (Jeff Garcia and Frank Cignetti)
September 15, 2015 at 1:59 pm in reply to: Thomas: Rams won almost in spite of themselves against Seattle #30569joemad
Participantinteresting article by Thomas…
Rams defense played pretty good… only allowed 1 TD, and three FGs…. (Foles’ fumble for a Seat TD return and Punt return were the Seattle’s other TDs….
I think everyone is done with Pead, another critical game turning fumble…. . I agree, once Gurley starts, Pead is gone….I’m still bitter about his Kick Off return fumble in SF that resulted in the 24-24 OT tie game.
Highest opening day passer rating since Jim Everett (Chuck Knox II era)… Rams won 31-27 vs TB that game, but finished 6-10 that season.
Highest rating since Bradford’s 117 in DC….. Coincidentally Foles and the RAMS play in DC this week, where Foles had his lowest QB rating (40) as a pro…..
joemad
ParticipantDid you see how often Bradford got hit last night? If that continues the Rams will be giving up that 4th round pick.
I thought Bradford looked pretty good once they started giving him time.
Yes, Bradford looked very good in the 2nd half…..but you can’t have him throw 52 times per game……
joemad
ParticipantI was surprised how bad Bridgewater looked and surprised that Norv Turner did not involve Adrian Peterson in the 1st few series of the game…..
joemad
ParticipantI thought the website crashed because the posters stormed the site and tore it down … Like tearing down the goal posts after victory…..
September 14, 2015 at 4:33 pm in reply to: What does yesterday's victory mean (re: the big picture)? #30487joemad
Participanti think what this games shows is that the Rams can win with a capable QB… For the past 2 seasons, the Rams have not had consistency from Hill, Davis or Clemmens….
the pass to Bailey in OT was money, over Richard Sherman…..
Foles Game Logs vs DC Washingtonians…. he’s 0-1 in DC….

ParticipantSo the second game (Vikes/9ers) doesn’t start until 10:20pm? Does the NFL think it’s smart to exclude the eastern time zone from its programming?
That’s OK with me……. 49ers playing on MNF opened up a TV slot for Sunday, thus FOX televised Sea at Rams on local TV in the SF area….

ParticipantTom Morello is a Rams fan
September 8, 2015 at 11:43 pm in reply to: Mike Martz it's time to step up and defend your Super Bowl XXXVI legacy #30116joemad
ParticipantI agree with almost everything except this……
“””””With only a week to prepare for the Super Bowl because of the lost week of football because of 9/11 the play you designed specifically for the Super Bowl and only practiced that week in the Super Dome””””
Vermeil and the 1999 Rams also only had 1 week to prepare for the SB after getting pounded by the Bucs in a very very physical NFC Championship game.
Fuck New England.
joemad
Participant“”””””Well yeah Fuck the Patriots and all,
but seems to me what beat the Rams
was Kurt getting hit and throwing to Ty Law
for the huge-pick-Six, and then
Proehl fumbling what would have been a big play.
Ya know.Spying or no-spying, you cant give the ball to the Pats.”””””
Turnovers are easier to come by when YOU KNOW WHAT PLAY IS BEING CALLED AND BEING RUN!!!!!
Patriots = hulk hogan and NFL = WWE
I’m so disgusted with the lesgue right now for stuff that I have suspected since the Tuck Rule…
joemad
Participanti said this many times… 3 Super Bowls during Spy Gate……. all by 3 points or less…
It only takes one 3rd down stop to win a game by 3 points…..
Fuck The Patriots……

September 3, 2015 at 11:42 am in reply to: Eagles QB Sam Bradford … how is he doing (from training camp thru pre-season) #29768joemad
Participantyou’re on the FF draft clock…… you need a QB…Big Ben, Flat balls, Flacco, A-Rod are taken….. Foles or Bradford? No brainer……
I haven’t been this shocked since the Dickerson trade on Halloween….
joemad
Participanti want to see Hekker on the QB depth chart…just being stupid…
I want to see more Case Keenum….I like him.

ParticipantPrisco makes some nice quick summaries on these teams….
I think the Raiders will be a huge surprise this season. Del Rio is a great coach, they have a young and up and coming team. I think they battle KC for the AFC West. Denver’s young line doesn’t look good for Peyton….
Seattle, o-line and the Super Losing team jinx…..I think they suck this year, starting in week 1. Let’s hope the Rams feast on Russell Wilson…..
joemad
Participantteams with most penalties last year… #1 Seattle….#2 was New England.

ParticipantNFL NETWORK has scheduled lousy reply times for the Rams….3AM????

ParticipantLaram reacting to Fisher/Boudreau’s decision to move Saffold and
the rookie Guard such a short time before the Seattle game.w
v
———————————Laram
Just unbelievable that an NFL HC with experience would do this.
I’ve seen (I know you have as well) o-lines with a positional strength on one side or the other, cover-up deficiencies.
This line has weak links all over. I dunno how you mask them, and I certainly don’t think that Bouds is the guy to do it.
I can’t point to one area of strength on this line. If Saffold could stay on the field I could identify him, but we’ve seen enough to know he can’t.
GRob’s development is concerning. I had concerns when he came out, but said that if Bouds felt they were correctable, he would be a good pick.
Well..I’m not seeing the improvement there yet. Will he ever develop into a top level LT?
Barrett Jones and Rob Havenstein are both train wrecks. Jones no power or athleticism, Havenstein, slow feet, no lateral quickness and a waste bender.
They have about 7-8 games I believe against 34 defenses. A defender on the nose and teams running 3-4 Eagle fronts, they won’t have any idea what to do with that.
This is a disaster man. Just really sickening.
It’s always fun to read LARAM’s take on the team…
I know Fisher knows that the o-line needs work, but does he know what it takes to get it better? Do the Rams have a plan to get there…. It’s a been a problem for many seasons……..let’s hope that Havenstein’s feet get quicker…..
August 31, 2015 at 8:52 pm in reply to: Eagles QB Sam Bradford … how is he doing (from training camp thru pre-season) #29634joemad
ParticipantI just watched the 1st quarter of the Eagles Packer preseason game. Bradford looks as good as he did right before he got hurt in Carolina.
I’m still stung about the trade
