Moderatorfor me personally. i don’t feel like a complete eval could really be done. sam didn’t play. the rams 2 defensive tackles didn’t start. laurinaitis was out. too many missing pieces to even form any sort of opinion. on offense i want to see bradford. i want to see how confident he is in that knee. on defense, i need to see the starting front seven before i have any idea what kind of defense the rams have.
and we may not even get all that until the regular season starts.

Moderatori’m of the opinion that tavon should be a major contributor outside of just special teams. whether the team passes it a lot or not, you don’t spend that kind of draft value on a special teams guy. i really hope he’s not the next desmond howard. my only hope is holt is not much of an evaluator. great players don’t always make great evaluators. we’ll see.

Moderatori agree. i read nothing but positive things about this guy. and he had an impressive catch against new orleans. don’t think they should let this guy go.
InvaderRam
Moderatorgreg robinson, alec ogletree, and sam bradford.
i want to see greg robinson clean things up a little bit in pass protection. that one mental error last game. don’t want to see that again.
i am extremely encouraged by what laurinaitis had to say about alec. i hope it isn’t just talk. sounds like he’s becoming a real professional.
i want to see sam shake that rust off.
InvaderRam
Moderatori’m expecting that bradford mostly hands the ball off. maybe two series at the most.

Moderatorwell that’s disturbing. cuz i don’t think britt or quick are the answer. not as starting wrs. that leaves bailey who i like. but he’s suspended for the first four games. cook? kendricks? right now i see a bunch of complimentary receivers, but no number one type wr. is that going to work? i think it will for now with the running game looking as strong as it does. but i think ultimately bailey or austin have to step up. or both. i don’t see anyone else on the roster who is capable.
InvaderRam
Moderatori was surprised at how comfortable he looked at offensive tackle. that’s comforting to me. i think he’ll be fine at guard for now, but ultimately, he needs to be the rams’ franchise left tackle. he looked the part.
August 12, 2014 at 8:00 pm in reply to: after 1 pre-s. game & all the camp reports what are the concerns v. good omens? #3867InvaderRam
Moderatorgood omens. offensive line. bailey. austin. running backs.
bad omens. run defense. tackling. secondary.
InvaderRam
Moderatoryeah. second game needs to be better.
InvaderRam
Moderatordefense just looks horrible so far.
InvaderRam
Moderatori had my doubts about gilbert. i admit.
InvaderRam
Moderatorgreat adjustment by bailey.
InvaderRam
Moderatori thought robinson did a good job wiping out that entire left side. cunningham just had to beat that linebacker and then it was tons of open field.
InvaderRam
Moderatorstedman! great catch!
InvaderRam
Moderatorall tight ends and running backs so far.
greg robinson at left tackle now.
InvaderRam
Moderatordon’t get too adventurous on that skateboard, robert!
InvaderRam
Moderatorgood to be able to watch the rams again. even got a first drive touchdown!
InvaderRam
Moderatorit does come off to me as coming to the right situation at the right time.
walton had pretty much the same defense, but williams comes at a time when ogletree and brockers should have breakout years. and then to top that off, they add one of the more pro-ready defensive tackles in recent memory basically as a gift. not to mention joyner.
if the defense blows up, this will inflate his ego even more.
if the defense flops, i think his reputation takes a huge hit.
August 7, 2014 at 9:43 pm in reply to: Bernie: It's time to refocus expectations about Bradford #3537InvaderRam
Moderatormy projections for him this season are:
300-500 3500 yards 27 tds 10 ints 90.9 qb rating.
90.9 was what he had last year which ranked 11th among qbs last year.
InvaderRam
Moderatorthey’re all sons of bitches. but williams probably is moreso than the average nfl coach.
he IS from the buddy ryan coaching tree after all… that goes for fisher too.
InvaderRam
Moderatori’m not sure that i like these helmet cams.
InvaderRam
Moderatorif stacy can stay healthy. if he could just stay healthy. this guy is gonna be something else. just great running instincts. harder to bring down than jackson. and then everything else should fall into place. bradford. the wrs. he’s just gotta stay healthy.
August 6, 2014 at 2:57 am in reply to: Rams LB Ogletree could be scary good in his second NFL season/Balzer #3395InvaderRam
Moderatori remember ogletree having problems shedding blocks. what are camp observers’ impressions on how much ogletree has improved in this regard?
also. i’ve read that ogletree has spent some time working with the dline on pass rush moves. have any of the camp observers’ taken note of this?
August 6, 2014 at 2:20 am in reply to: Video: interviews with Greg Robinson, EJ Gaines, Shaun Hill #3394InvaderRam
Moderatoroh dear. greg is looking to hurt someone on friday…
something tells me he’s a completely different player when full contact is involved.
August 6, 2014 at 1:59 am in reply to: 8/5 Jim Fadler twitter reports from camp…and twitter reports from others too #3393InvaderRam
Moderatorreally liked the comments on robinson, mason, and austin. offense should be very much improved from last year.
InvaderRam
Moderatorwhat do people think of the new rule changes and the impact that will have on tavon?
i figure the new rule changes WILL help austin. with dbs not allowed to be as physical it should help a jitterbug type like tavon.
i also believe bailey is the guy to step. it’ll be austin and bailey. with quick or britt making a very effective third wr.
i also think that brockers dominates. it won’t just be donald. he’s the new guy, and understandably, people are excited. but brockers has come in the best shape of his life. he didn’t come in with the technical proficiency that donald does. but people forget. brockers is only 6 months older than donald. he came in as a young raw physical specimen. i fully expect him to have a breakout year. and then combined with donald, this dline should be frightening.
InvaderRam
Moderatornot sure i like this rule change. i’d like to see a rule change favor the defense for a change.
InvaderRam
Moderatoryup. cb. then free safety. then oline.
InvaderRam
Moderatori think it also says something about the wr corps too though. more experience. more confidence. i think they’re more capable of helping bradford out.
givens sounds like a disappointment. but austin, bailey, quick… sounds like they have all upped their game. this should make everything sharper. bradford can get the ball out faster. without hesitation. knowing that his receivers will be where they’re supposed to be.
InvaderRam
Moderatoraaron donald. sounds too good to be true. can’t believe the first preseason game is less than a week away.
yeah. between coach o and franke, bailey sounds like one to watch as is ogletree.
robinson still very much a work in progress. although i think things would look very different in pads and full contact.
