Yes, i’d say they have been “decent” when healthy.
But a ‘decent’ OLine is only good enough if you are the Seahawks or GSOT
or have a front seven like the Giant teams had, etc, etc.

Overall, i think maybe you have been a little more impressed with the ‘Healthy
Ram Olines’ than moi. Maybe. I dunno.

As far as starting two Rookies on the Oline — I dunno. Obviously,
if they do it, it would be unprecedented for Fisher/Boudreau. But
this could be the year it happens. If it happens i guess it would
mean they aint happy with what the young players they’ve been developing.

Can these people ever, finally, field a strong, healthy, better-than-‘decent’
Offensive Line? Year 4. We’ll see.

i think if robinson pans out. makes the expected progress this year. which i fully expect him to do.

and if the rams can hit on one offensive lineman. just one. in this draft. not saying they should draft just one. but if they can hit on just one.

and if the rams can sign barksdale.

this offensive line could be the best they’ve had in awhile. they’ve got youth and potential on their side. but again. robinson has to be the real deal. barksdale has to be re-signed. and they really got to hit on one offensive lineman in this draft. like they hit on donald last year at defensive tackle.

this secondary needs more of that. leadership. toughness. i’m happy with him as a starter. but i think jenkins needs to be replaced. i hope i’m wrong.

at this point. the only way i don’t see the rams picking offensive line is if marcus mariota drops.

they might end up starting 2. i think they need to at least sign one free agent. the more i think about it it’s absolutely vital that they draft oline in the first round i prefer that they draft a guy who can play multiple positions. that would be scherff, collins, or erving.

then draft another in the second or third. problem is third rounders i’m assuming are more likely developmental guys. that’s why they need jones or someone who had been in the system to step up.

this draft can’t come soon enough. i want to know what our starting offensive line is going to look like in 2015. if they can hit on an offensive lineman the way they did with aaron donald. i mean that could make the whole season. robinson, saffold, and stud would be huge. shoot. as deep as this oline class is, they could hit big on two.

barksdale may be ordinary, but i think continuity can’t be underestimated in this case. replacing 3/5 of the oline doesn’t sound like a recipe for success to me. he’s a solid right tackle who’s been in this system for a couple of years. he’s still young. put two stud rookies in there. and i think there’s a good chance of success.

or they could get the two stud rookies and put jones or barnes at center.

i think the important thing is that you have as many guys who are familiar with each other as you can.

i think i’d prefer scherff over peat or clemmings.

do the rams have a true number one receiver. or just even a 1000 yard receiver among this group?

i’ve got my doubts about britt although he was on his way to a breakout season before his injury. quick was too before he got injured.

i guess we’ll find out.

it is nice isn’t it? before the internet or just around the rise of the internet, i’d have to go out and buy draft magazines to find all this information. but even then. we didn’t have access to the wealth of videos that get circulated around.

the thing that appeals to me most about guys like collins is their positional versatility. gives the team a lot of flexibility in terms of filling in gaps on the oline. especially in this day and age when those positions seems to go through so much flux.

i’d rather go for that guy than a guy who is strictly a tackle. maybe that’d be different if i was looking for a left tackle or even a center. but right now i’m looking at versatility.

i don’t think i’d agree with that. i think cooper will be better than bailey. i see him as an isaac torry type receiver. doesn’t wow you with the measurables but will be extremely productive. and the rams don’t have that right now in the wr corps.

but i also see the value in drafting a quality lineman there too.

i’d take collins over scherff personally. or trade down and pick erving.
