Havenstein stays at RT.
Battle was supposed to be a two year project…? I think it is even money Grob stays at LT.
mannion is still an unknown. He hasn’t flunked yet and could still get a…passing grade. đ

HramParticipantThank you, that made me smile.
If the new coach moves Barron, which may be unwise as he is pretty good there, then we need to get another linebacker. Which one depends on what they do with Tree.
Most important acquisition this year is someone who is good with young QBs.
HramParticipantScaffold said, âweâll see if he does.â Twice. He does, not we do or they do.
Not the best way to express himself if what he meant was something like, âas a veteran and leader, Iâm excited about Goff and how he is already laser focused on holding people accountable. Iâm doubling down on his comments and challenging everyone to work as hard as me and him this offseason. Put in the time and expect to win next fall with Goff as our quarterback or find somewhere else to play and donât come back.
I donât think Saffold is part of the solution plus and he takes up more cap space then he is worth.
Saffoldâs wording may have been confusing but he publically stated that he wasnât dissing Goff.
I know, I read his retraction.
HramParticipantI agree with ZN although we may not agree on all of the position groups and reasons.
IMO, the only thing that truly needs fixing is the online. Defense is decent. Health and a couple additions wouldn’t hurt. We’ve got a bunch of young WRs and a couple TEs. Could be the third year before we determine with of them are keepers, but we have enough to sort through. Would be nice to add a vet mid-tier receiver or receiving TE.
If Goff progresses, the online if fixed and the coaching and play calling on offense improve, we’ll be competitive for the playoffs next year.
HramParticipantThey found a middle linebacker who should only get better his second year in the position.
It is possible improve an online to at least average in one year, particularly with a bunch of young(ish) talent already on the roster.

HramParticipantGurney, I’m going with oline and coaching. The talent is still there.
Goff, Rookie. I don’t yet have any concerns.
Grob. Need a look from another staff. Could be a move to the inside, but maybe not.
WR. Britt and bring back all the young ones.
Defense. Best available at a decent price and/or draft position.
Defense
HramParticipantEarly report, but still good to hear Goff is talking to his team.
Sounds like Saffold needs to go. He doesn’t believe.
HramParticipantIf they can fix the oline, everything else will come along.
The defense would show they are playoff caliber if the offense could even get to average. The special teams are certainly playoff caliber.
Fix the oline which is doable as they have young talent (might need up to two journeyman not currently on the team) and continue to develop Goff then enjoy 10 wins next year.
HramParticipantThe team is still close.
They need to fix the Oline and bring Goff along. That’s all they need.
And heart, they need heart. You gotta have heart.
With the right new coaching staff, the team still makes the playoffs next year. Goff has to develop.
HramParticipantI think this is a good move.
If there is anything wrong with cranium cranium then it is best to sit him at least another week. Play Mannion and see how he has progressed to help make decisions for next year .
HramParticipantGood find
HramParticipantCan you imagine is we had a Massey to go with Hekker???
Goff is likely to be good. The decision to sit him, hone his mechanics( I’m assuming they did) and work on the playbook and speed of the game is likely to have been the correct decision. Hekker, IMO, is currently at least in the top 3 if not our best offensive weapon.
As cool as that is for Hekker and a testimony to a potential future hall of famer, it is not the best thing to be able to say about your football team. When he is clearly no better than fourth, we will probably be winning more than currently.
HramParticipantI believe it is a coaching issue.
Yet, how much can be pinned on the move?
Teams that move normally earn a poor record the next year. Teams that draft a QB normally earn a poor record the next year.
But
This was not a normal team in those circumstances. They were 7-9 last year, not 3-13. They were young, kept most of the team together and should have grown.
The online is by far the most disappointing unit to me this year. They should have been better and that should have led to 4 more wins.
I don’t get it.
HramParticipantIt’s the fifth year, the rams had extra draft capital when he came in and they still aren’t winning. Through last year I was willing to personally support keeping Fisher because there were enough mitigating circumstances to give me pause on a regime changes.
At this point in another disappointing season, I believe it is time to let him go.
HramParticipantVery cool,
Thank you
HramParticipantNorv Turner as OC next year? That intrigues me.
HramParticipantWell done Sir X!
HramParticipantYep
And we may start on a wall but perhaps not right away and maybe not get too much of it done and perhaps Mexico won’t have to pay for it. And maybe there are parts of Obama care that are decent so we should revise it instead of throw it out right away. And Hillary is a good person who should be thanked so their probably will not be an indictment. And, and, and.
It is not unusual for an incoming president to not push with fervor and also to face some realities, which they most likely knew ahead of time, on what could be enacted and not be able to push some (or more than some) of the agenda they promised.
It is unusual for the promises to be so angry and full of vitriol and the backing away to happen this quickly.
I wonder if we will ever see his tax returns…

HramParticipantWater is why they would have to bring the western half of Oregon and Washington with them.
Although I’m sure desalinization of seawater could also become a big industry.
HramParticipantEcotopia, I remember reading that as a young lad. Might even still have it in a bookshelf in my basement. They would have to take the western part of Oregon and Washington with them.
HramParticipantThis is disappointing.
I thought the oline would be improved this year and the offense would be a little better as a result.
They need a new coaching regime next year. They just aren’t good enough and I don’t see them miraculously getting better by the end of the year.
There is enough talent on this team, it’s past time that it was coached up.
Regardless, don’t start Geoff until he is ready. Once is fundamentals are correct, they should give him a few series a game to ensure they hold. If they do, give him some more time so he gains experience. If they don’t, then keep working on them in practice without putting him the game.
We’ll probably scrap our way to seven wins, somehow.

Rams have 3 QBs they can win with. Goff did not look lost and made one great pass to cooper that could have been caught. With Dallas D coming after him, I bet they decided to pull him and not risk injury. Mannion commanded the pocket. Couple bad throws. More good decisions.Several third stringers looked good. Hill (he tackled), seau, Spruce (played like he did in college.
Oline opened some holes and backup RBs looked good.
Cooper has some game and higbee gets open and can catch.
Quick got open caught the ball and can block.
Several play action first down throws.
We may have 9 defensive linemen that deserve to make this team.
Ogletree went into the hole with some speed to tackle.
Minuses
Wow, defense sucked early. Focus? Game plan? Prescott playing over his head? Don’t know and they will play better, but that was not fun to watch.- This reply was modified 8 years, 5 months ago by Hram.
HramParticipantI am glad they included Massey. đ
HramParticipantLegitimate questions about Goff’s velocity? Not in the measurable’s I have seen.
HramParticipantQuick much improved.
That would be big.
HramParticipantThat’s pretty cheap.
Worth it even if we only get 8 good games out of him before he goes on IR then bring up whoever on the practice squad that is ready.
