Guys I think ZN is playing the role he usually plays here. His view point is always opposite of whatever mine is.

Sorry ZN but you’re wrong in this case and I don’t need your confirmation to affirm that I am right. I know that I am.

Jeff Fisher you are really stubborn. How can you stand by that Hill is the QB bullshit?

Might be time for a new coach.

I think we saw plenty of clutch from this kid (Davis) the last two weeks. He could not have been more clutch. That horrible fucking defense we saw today on the part of the players and Greg Williams is what put him into that situation that created those two interceptions. The second INT he simply over threw the receiver trying to make a play. This kid went 30 of 42 for 323 yards and two scores. We have not seen those kind of numbers very often in the Bradford era. This offense with Davis at QB put nearly 30 points on Dallas and these were not cheap points. That drive at the start of the game. That was a nine minute thing of beauty that the Rams have not seen their offense produce in I could not tell you how long.

    Davis the QB, case closed.

He managed the game well for most of 4 quarters. Made some nice plays. He was one of the reasons they were ahead.

He’s not the reason they got behind.

    But.

If there’s one thing I put HEAVILY on the qb, it’s performance in crunch time, at the end of games when they are down but can win.

Under those conditions he threw 2 INTs.

That either means he doesn’t have it, or is still raw and young and making crucial mistakes.

To let him off the hook for that is not being objective, IMO.

What I am most interested in, though, in these discussions is a genuinely open and objective comparison of the 2 qbs–that is, THEIR PLAY. Not their bios, or how they are on the sideline, and so on. Their PLAY. If someone can’t do that it’s only because they have not seen enough of both players to actually compare them.

I have nothing against Davis and am happy to be objective about both qbs.

However, I think what actually happened is–Davis did nothing to take the #1 spot away from Hill.

If Hill can’t come through then it’s back to Davis.

I’m sorry but you are being biased when you say he did nothing to take the job away from Hill.

    He did plenty.

    Man you are blind.

Game ball: QB Austin Davis. Fisher can insist all he wants that the job belongs to Shaun Hill when he returns from a thigh injury but Davis has done enough in his two starts to give Fisher something to think about over the bye. The fourth-quarter pick-six he threw was brutal and his second was simply him trying to make a play but he was excellent otherwise, finishing 30-of-42 for 327 yards with three touchdowns for a passer rating of 98.0.

    Nick Wagoner

    I agree with Nick.

I think Davis altered any of those negative perceptions today. He played as good a game as you could ask for and probably better than Hill could have played and Davis probably played a better game today than Bradford has ever played.

I wouldn’t over blow the Cook thing. I don’t think he realized who was trying to talk to him and was just super pissed about dropping a TD Pass.

TSRF, thinking Grits is nuts or doesn’t know what he’s talking about seems to be a fallacy that has plagued various Rams boards.
I’m not always right but I’m not always wrong either.

I will say that in most cases, in my mind at least I have a good reason for stating what I do. Davis has shown ability since he arrived in 2012. Why most fans cannot see that is beyond me. Maybe because we all assumed that Bradford was the guy and Bradford should have been the guy except for the injuries unfortunately. I’m sure you have heard the story of Lou Gherig and Wally Pipp. Well in this case Hill may be Wally Pipp and Davis is Gherig.

Breakout game for Stedman Bailey this Sunday? Bailey and Quick and throw in Cook, Kendricks and Britt.

Notice I left Givens out of that? I just don’t trust Givens.

I think this is a crossroads game in a sense for Davis as he has an opportunity to really solidify himself int he minds of Fisher and the other coaches and the players if he really comes through.

Honestly, just my 2 cents worth but Fisher is being stupid by standing by Hill. Hill just does not have the pedigree to be an NFL starter. If he did, then he would have been a starting QB in this league long before this.

There is more upside to playing Davis and its more exciting to play Davis.

Hill will not be on the team in 2015.

That’s right! You read it! 35 to 20 Rams over the Cowboys.

Austin Davis will have 350 yards passing and three scores.

One start of Davis and you don’t think the Rams are very good right now? And what did you think of the ViQueens after the Patriots who had lost the week before went into Minnesota and BF’d them in front of their home crown 30-7?

This Hill thing is a joke. I have never seen a QB that could not play because of a pulled leg muscle before.

Davis is the guy. Fisher needs to own up and admit it.

I believe in AD. I’ve been saying since 2012 when we first saw him play in pre-season that the kid has something going for him.
He can manage an offense and he’s a heck of an athlete.

Even AD said so himself that he has three years experience in this offense and Hill does not. Everyone who has positively commented on AD after the Tampa game has said how clutch his play was late in the game when it is winning time. Especially his passes. I think the Rams have lucked into a good QB here and I mean that most sincerely. These 3rd string QB comments are going to disappear the more this kid plays and wins games.

If AD has another solid game, even if the Rams lose I think Fisher is going to be hard pressed to really put Hill back in.
If AD has another solid game, and the Rams win, then Fisher is going to be looked upon as real clown if he goes back to Hill at that point and he may just emotionally lose this team if he does that.

Wednesday practice is usually very telling as to who is playing. If Hill cannot practice then he is not playing, simple as that. If Davis is getting most of the snaps then Davis is the guy.

If Austin Davis is the QB on Sunday I think the Rams could put a lot of points on the board and win this game going away.
    Hill? Remains to be seen.

The Rams defense as bad as they played against the Vikings still held Peterson to 70 plus yards. Far below what he had done to them previously. I think Murray will be a marked man on Sunday.

I had Sunday ticket one season and have not had it since. I go to the sports bar down the street. Next year when the Rams have moved back to LA I’ll get 8 free road games on my TV as the NFL says the home team’s road games must be shown in the local market.
I am very much looking forward to that.

Getting rid of Fitzpatrick was not advisable either at the time and it seems to me you defended that move then as well.
As it is Fitzpatrick has had a decent career and has actually started for at least 3 different teams and played well.

Austin Davis has shown he can play. Watering it down by saying oh that was against Tampa and not Frisco or Seattle is hogwash. He played who was in front of him and did the job. Hill has not done the job and Davis has demonstrated over and over again he can manage the offense and move the ball and score.

Sorry the “Tampa is not the NFC West” excuse doesn’t wash. Davis has proven more capable when called upon and Hill has proven nothing.

I do not buy the injury bullshit. Just my opinion as always but, I can tell when somebody has been yanked because the coach was not happy with him. That was clear in the Vikings game. The injury thing as I said is bullshit. So he has a pulled leg muscle and they can’t tape him up and he can play with a limp?

    Wuss

Anyways, I think Fisher panicked and yanked Hill in the 1st game and he knows he made a mistake in that way. Not that AD didn’t play well but maybe Fisher reallizes he was not fair to Hill and should have given him the whole game against the Vikings.

I am very disappointed that Austin Davis comes in and does more than a good job. He was outstanding friggen Fisher obviously lost in freaken stoneage somewhere isn’t smart enough to realize who the best QB on his team is. I thought this was about winning not being loyal to broken down hasbeens (Hill).
