I have subscribed to Sunday Tix for every season since 1997. When I first ordered Sunday Tix, it was $79.00 for the season as a stand alone product, monthly programming was not required. I was grandfathered in for this clause.. however, I lost my grandfather status when I upgraded to HD, so now I need to purchase monthly programming from DirecTV to subscribe to Sunday Tix……..thus I suspend my monthly service with DirecTV during the offseason and opt for local cable because it’s a better value for me.

    1) If I upgrade to a DirecTV DVR box, I’m forced into a contract to buy DirecTV for 2 years without the ability to suspend service 6 months per year.

My question is: is there a way or a device that allows me to record Ram games on Sunday without a DVR from DirecTV?

Sry, no help…I’ve never tried that.

What might be an alternative though is to buy the NFL.com season rewind package.

THAT might cost less. IE, the combo of Sunday ticket during the season + rewind might be less than upgrading to tivo and being forced into a 24 month contract.

    after checking different options,

    1) magnavox mdr557h/f7 at $300 per device, with no guarantees of the feasibility of recording DirecTV or Sunday Tix.
    2) DVR through Direct TV = buying a 2 year contract with DTV, in my case 4 years because I suspend DTV for 6 months during offseason.

NFL rewind seems to be the way to go…… only issue is you can’t watch the games when the NFL is showing nationally televised games.

Only $40 for the season for all games….. not too bad! with a 15% discount using REP15 promo code. works well through Apple TV in HD. …

I miss having the ability of owning the tape of DVD though…….

I had Sunday ticket one season and have not had it since. I go to the sports bar down the street. Next year when the Rams have moved back to LA I’ll get 8 free road games on my TV as the NFL says the home team’s road games must be shown in the local market.
I am very much looking forward to that.

I used to go to Sports Bars in the early the mid 90’s and drop about $40 bucks + tips on bloody marys and wings for the early games, or beers and wings for the late games…. even at $300 per season, Sunday Tix is not a bad value……… it took me about 45 minutes and 2 phone calls to DTV, to negotiate Sunday Tix Max for $150 this year…., that’s the equivalent to 3 and 3/4 games for me at a sports bar. it’s a bit of hassle, but I do my best not to pay market price for Sunday Tix.

BTW, to your point about moving back to LA…… I really miss seeing the RAMS play home games outdoors…. since they moved to the dome, I prefer to watch the RAMS play outdoor road games on grass, like last week in TB, especially when they win on the road, which has been a rare occurrence the last 10 years.

That was a really fun game to watch last Sunday, even on delay on NFL rewind.
