I don’t think there was a real choice in regarding benching Davis. I think he hit a wall mentally and emotionally and was not going to get any better. Standing and watching for a while is probably the best thing for him.

Anybody who does not believe this move is going to happen is fooling themselves.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantOptions
1. Bring Bradford back in 2015 but he needs to adjust his salary
2. Sign a veteran QB who can be a starter or trade for one. Kirk Cousins?
3. Draft a QB, Mariotta, Hundley?Kirk Cousins did not impress me when I saw him with the Skins this season. Maybe trade for Matt Schaub?
Bradford probably is the most realistic option since he is under contract and apparently they (Rams) have a desperate need for a QB. Bradford is very fortunate that Davis has blown up like he has. Can Bradford stay healthy? He’s missed half his games with the Rams. Five years in and Bradford is still a huge question mark.Offensive line has to be improved. Rams cannot afford to go into next season without the offensive line being addressed.
Rams have skilled players. What they need is improved quarterback play. AZ game was totally winnable and Davis’s melt down cost them. This organization has to address the QB position and they cannot afford to be wrong again.Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI don’t know but I’d say he has hit a mental wall. He looked confused and indecisive and maybe lacks confidence right now.
Don’t know why but he doesn’t look like the same QB he was in the Tampa game, Dallas game or the first 49ers game. Not sure Schottenheimer or Fisher are putting him in the best position to succeed.Lost and confused but, what do you have? He’s shown he can play well. I think he’s a young QB that for what ever reason is not playing to his strengths and his coaches have done very little to help him there. Playing Hill will not save the Ram season. All they have is to try and coach Davis through this and hope he improves.
Looks like the Rams do need to draft a QB no doubt.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantAustin Davis will have a near 400 yard passing day on Sunday and throw for 4 scores. Rams will win easily.

November 7, 2014 at 2:24 pm in reply to: Is Bruce Arians an "offensive genius" ? + Arians wired v. Washington #11381GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantHe’s a good solid coach. Why does he have to be a genius? Whats wrong with simply being a good coach?
Ever since that Fucker Bill Walsh popped onto the scene all coaches have to be geniuses. Why?y
Are they nuclear physicists or something? Fuck that stupid genius label. Its football, not rocket science.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantRun the ball effectively with the occasional strategic pass play here and there. Ball control and no turnovers or stupid penalties is the key.
I give Davis more credit than most of you Bradford Desciples. I think the kid will have huge game on Sunday.
Question will be if the Rams get a good lead can the defense hold it.Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantBradford has done nothing to show he’s superior to Davis. You guys have short fucking memories and anybody who thinks Hill give them a better chance doesn’t know much about QBs.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantNothing wrong with Austin Davis. He’s a young QB and every player has down games. Hell, if the defense had been any fucking good early in the season they’d be 5-2 or 5-3 right now at least.
The only mistakes that Davis made yesterday in the 49er game was he locked onto the receiver with his eyes on the first INT and then on the 2nd INT the ball was under thrown because he didn’t set his feet and then throw. Just remember this, AD is the first Rams QB to win in San Francisco since 2007 and he was perfect with no INTS versus the Hawks two weeks ago who have a better defense than the 49ers.

November 3, 2014 at 8:06 am in reply to: Bernie: Another Rams coaching change not a good idea #11063GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantFisher is safe until after the move. Rams priority is the move not the coach.
BTW heard that there will be a special meeting of the NFL owners in November regarding the relocation.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI think your critique of Davis is pure bullshit.
This is his first year as a starter and he made a couple bad plays today on the two interceptions but neither one of them cost us big.
As many bad games as Bradford has had, I allow Davis a few as well. He’s still been far better than anything we’ve seen from Pussy Bradford since 2010.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantFarty-Whiners going down in Farty-Whiner land.
Davis passes for 375 and 4 scores.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI have to admit I find the combining of threads annoying. Hard to find stuff I’ve posted and see any responses when they’ve been moved around like that.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantAustin Davis is the best QB on the Rams roster. I have no problem saying that because its true.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantWow, blame Austin Davis? Really.
You guys need to watch the games before blaming Davis.
You’re way the hell off base.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI think before we fire Fisher we consider that the Rams have been a piece of crap team long before Fisher became the head coach. He has had a tough job. Not only rebuild a crap team but change the culture of the team and organization from losers to winners. This does not happen in the time frame of anyone’s master plan. Sometimes it comes quickly and sometimes it takes a bit more time.
I think constantly firing coaches who cannot deliver instant coffee results is just being stupid.
I think we need to stick with Fisher.

October 27, 2014 at 11:23 am in reply to: Who is more responsible for the wasted draft picks? #10579GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantDrafting Tavon Austin at number 8 overall and finding out he’s just an average player is not a shining moment for this GM or coach. Basically Tavon is a bust.
Greg Robinson looks good now that he is in there but why did it take so long.
Ogletree is not very good and he’s starting. Just because you make a player a starter doesn’t mean he’s a quality player.
I think measuring success in the draft by the starters you get from the draft is skewed. I think win/loss record had to figure into that and right now they suck.Grits.
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantAustin Davis is fine Joe Mad. The problem is the Sucko offensive line.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantJust make the move of Robinson to LT and Barrett Jones to LG or Center.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantWhat upset me most is I thought the defense quit in the middle of the 3rd quarter. The tackling was a joke and there was no excuse for it. I did not see any desire to tackle anyone on the part of the linebackers or secondary.

October 26, 2014 at 9:43 pm in reply to: Eric Dickerson, Marcus Allen hope to see Rams, Raiders back in L.A. #10527GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI believe it will be the Rams. No doubt in my mind. Raiders? Well I hear they have new financial backing in Oakland.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantFrankly guys, Fish is the coach until they have settled in LA. Just the way it is. The focus is going to be on the move starting in February. The coaches will remain in place for at least a season past the move.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI have not lost faith in the Fish.
What I see is a young team that hasn’t grown up yet.
I see an offensive line that has never been solidified and is now suffering injuries again.I see poor tackling and that I put on the players and they have to want to tackle.
Areas of need
1. Solidify the offensive line and upgrade the talent.
2. Upgrade the linebackers
3. we need some veterans on defense. We are too young. Especially at the safety spots.I think if the offensive line can be upgraded and solidified then the Rams will be okay on offense.
I think on defense the Rams could use a pass rushing DE on the left side and could use upgraded talent at linebacker and they need a veteran strong or free safety.
I think if I can get another tall, strong cover corner I’d do that as well.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantIf I was going to trade Zac Stacy it would be for a linebacker who could play and start. Ogletree may be having playbook issues I think. Not sure he comprehends his role right now.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI would go to the teacher’s boss. Even teachers have bosses and maybe the boys VP or the Dean and have a conference and I would let them know that if there is not a complete change in Mr. Dick’s attitude then I am going to the school board and that I may consider civil or criminal action i.e. filing bullying charges with the DA’s office.
