Maybe the Rams plan to lead the league in coverage sacks. 😎

I’m happy that they kept him. I don’t know what other good nickel CBs are paid so I can’t comment on that aspect of this signing. I just know that he’ll be on the field a lot so I’m glad that he’s still a Ram. I’m starting to wonder about Webster’s future with the Rams though. Assuming that he comes back is he going to be happy being a back up?

Good for Case. Hard not to be a fan of that guy.

Oh well. I’d have preferred that the Rams found a way to keep him, but it appears that maybe this offseason is all about retooling the defense. That’s not to say that I think they’ll do nothing to fix the offense. I hope that this means a third round compensatory pick in 2019.

So, if Austin is in fact in his way out the door that’s two holes WR. Of course, the Rams could opt to carry one less WR on their roster. Perhaps they’re going to gamble on Reynolds progressing. This doesn’t sound like a top heavy draft at WR. I’ve seen mocks that don’t have a WR coming off the board until the late teens. So there could be decent WRs to choose from at 23. I don’t think that their will be any WRs that have Watkins skill set, however. I’d prefer the Rams find an OLB/edge rusher or a LT of the future though.

Short term, it seems like there is no way the Rams offense doesn’t take a step backwards this season, but with the future money that the Rams might have to spend to keep guys like Donald, Goff and Gurley I can see why they’d pass on giving Watkins $16 million/year. Although, I’m not much for following the cap so maybe they could have found a way to make that all happen.

I just hope that this turns out better for the Rams than Asomugha and DRC did for the Eagles dream team of 2011.

Just your typical run-of-the-mill offseason-before-the-league-year-starts-week for the Rams. *yawn*

    Didn’t see this coming.

Does anyone think that getting rid of Barron is still a possibility? Lots of turnover already.

Arguments about abortion or guns are never really about abortion or guns. They are about people’s identities.

I find that’s true about many arguments. That doesn’t reduce their importance in my mind.

Just heard Schefter on radio.. Said not going to be a first rounder

Schefter seemed pretty confident the deal will include multiple picks but not the Rams first round pick.

If true, and depending on what happens between now the end of April, I’m all in on o-line with the Rams first pick. That’s not to say the Rams don’t have other needs (e.g. edge rusher, NT, ILB, TE), but I’m just tell’n y’all what I want.

I think he’ll improve, but I also won’t be surprised if the offense as a whole takes a step back next season and as a result people start asking “what’s wrong with Goff?” However, in the long term I think he turns into a top tier QB.

As a child I loved the Christoper Reeve’s “Superman” and I enjoyed the first two Spider-Man’s with Toby Maguire. I have several friends who love superhero movies. The genre ran its course for me a long time ago.

Meanwhile all the societies that DID control those weapons do not have the shootings we do.

Yes, I’m always saddened when ardent supporters of the second amendment dismiss or explain that fact away. The shear number of gun related deaths that are experienced down there absolutely frighten me.

Am I correct in saying that this article is written in the second person? Whatever it is, at first I thought the style was cool, but it wore on me by the end. Regardless of the style I appreciated reading things from Fisher’s perspective.

I don’t know how next season’s Rams can possibly match the good fortune the 2017 Rams had with expect to limited injuries. That variable alone will make building on this past season and all its glories a difficult task.

I kept expecting to see Keith Null’s name pop up. His debut vs. the Titans seemed terrible at the time, but not as bad as the debuts on that list.

Better than being on his third offense in three years.

LT would be my hope too. If that’s going to turn into a reach at 23 than I’d be hoping for a pass rusher off of the edge, CB or a TE. If there is a worthy center available I’d be good with that, but good centers can often be found later. I think there are lots of places where the Rams can be upgraded though. Often a good interior LB can be had in the late first round. I would be ok with finding a more traditional LB to replace Barron if a worthy LT wasn’t available when the Rams pick.

The Falcons run game seemed to come to life after Brockers went down. That was a big loss for the Rams D. On other subjects, a reliable TE would be a nice find before the 2018 season and it’s unfortunate that Cooper waited until his first playoff game to have his worst performance of the season. Perhaps the injury he was dealing with played a factor. Only fourteen carries for Gurley? That disappointed me. I know that the Falcons had the ball a lot and Cooper’s errors kept the ball out of Gurley’s hands early, but there were opportunities for Gurley to run more.

Anyway, my expectations were exceeded this year. Hopefully this young team keeps developing and they can adequately deal with the buzz saw that is Jimmy Garappolo.

I’m totally good with resting guys. I don’t care about the idea that the Rams might be lining themselves up for a supposedly easier opponent in Philadelphia. I doubt that is even part of their thinking. Whoever they play in the first round will be a formidable opponent. I’m just happy that the important puzzle pieces will be in place come their first playoff game in a million years.

I don’t see it that way. The Rams will have a tough opponent no matter who they play. The Rams will also present as a tough out for their opponent. I’d rather they rest all the key players.
