After arranging for Colin Kaepernick to work out for the Seahawks this week, Seattle postponed the trip when the quarterback declined to stop kneeling during the national anthem next season, league sources tell ESPN.

    1. If, at your job, your boss started each day with the National Anthem and you, for whatever reason, chose to kneel rather than stand
    2. I’d imagine you’d have a pretty strong case if your boss fired you for not standing.

But that’s a completely different discussion than simply saying their protest is a slap to the face or disrespectful of veterans. There is tremendous respect from the players to the military. Many of them have friends and family members currently serving. The players I’ve spoken to go great lengths to express the utmost respect for the military.

Many veterans will tell you they served, in great part, to specifically protect the right of fellow American’s to peacefully protest. Even during the National Anthem.

I’ve pointed out many times the insincerity and mistake of referencing their protest as anti flag or military. It’s never been about the flag or those who protect it. Ever. And I’ve supported their right to use that platform to shed light on injustice.

The question now is, how many other #NFL teams are unwilling to sign/workout Colin Kaepernick specifically due to his anthem protest?

At the minimum, the #49ers need to immediately suspend Rueben Foster without pay until his case gets resolved. No matter how long it takes. And that’s at minimum

Sense I get is they’re open to signing [Mannion] beyond this year – of course that depends on him wanting to return knowing his back-up status. They’re also interested to see what Brandon Allen does this off season. And while drafting a QB is not a priority they aren’t opposed to it.

Ravens wil hold joint practices with the Los Angeles Rams before their Aug. 9 preseason game in Baltimore. This will mark the first time the Ravens have had joint practices since doing so with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015.

Rams’ offseason program officially starts Monday morning in Thousand Oaks with optional conditioning and rehab workouts. Aaron Donald Watch ’18 begins!

Based on last year’s league/team scheduling, it seems that the Rams can open training-camp practices on Thursday, July 26. As has been reported, they likely will spend a couple extra days in Maryland to practice with the Ravens.

I’m not sure how the Rams ended up with two of their regular-season opponents and two long road trips. Very odd.

A little context to Rams’ preseason schedule…they had to play week 1 on the road because of Coliseum renovations, and had to play week 4 on the road because it’s typically a Thursday, and they can’t play (USC) school-day games at home. Likely same in 2019.

If the Rams and the Saints are as good as advertised, the Rams could conceivably play at New Orleans in preseason, regular season and postseason… or, if Rams get home field advantage, play that third game at Coliseum.
