Fair to say the decision to start Goff now will ultimately decide Fisher’s fate? In other words, do Fisher’s detractors root for Goff to fail to effect change?
by Dan 2:22 PM
Tough to say. Unless this thing totally falls apart down the stretch, like 4-12 or 5-11, I think Fisher could be back. Yes, that would be after five straight losing seasons.

Will Bradford ever catch a break with a good line?
by Don 2:24PM
Apparently not. You know he has a 100-plus passer rating in each of the past two games. But he’s continuing to take some shots. Given his injury history, you just wonder when it’ll be one hit too many.
by jthomas 2:25PM
With the bad play from the offensive line, at times, could it turn out bad for Goff. Or will he provide the spark they need?
by Rams fan in Texas 2:33PM
Actually, the pass-blocking hasn’t been bad for the Rams, although they have made it a point to get the ball out quick. By everything I’ve been told, Goff does have a quick release. He may need to put that to good use.

What’s your guess on where the Chargers end up?
by Don 2:39PM
I think they stay in San Diego, at least for the short term.
by jthomas 2:39PM
Follow up on Don’s Charger question……I agree they stay in SD. Spanos wants to be there and so does the NFL. The real question is who pays to build a stadium there since the public has stated “NO” in resounding fashion.
by Knux 2:48PM
Yeah, the big difference in San Diego (as opposed to St. Louis) is that the owner Spanos wants to be there and the league wants a team there. Neither was the case with StL. By the way, we will have long-time San Diego Union Tribune writer Kevin Acee on our 2-SportTown podcast Wednesday to discuss the San Diego situation. The podcast should be available for listening sometime Wednesday afternoon.

Can/will the Rams make the playoffs? Need to know how hard I’ll have to root for the opposition over the last seven games.
by Kroenkitis 2:57PM
Even though the NFC West isn’t that strong this year, and the NFC North is down, it’s hard to see the Rams squeezing out a wild-card berth because of the strength of the NFC East where everyone currently has a winning record and where ultimately both wild-cards could come from. The Rams defense has played very well so far this season, but they’re about to be tested: Atlanta, New England, New Orleans, and Arizona all are ranked No. 8 or better in the league in total offense.

Prediction on Dolphins @ Rams?
by Scott 3:16PM
Based on how Dolphins head coach Adam Gase coached circles around the Rams last year (as Chicago’s OC), I’m leaning towards Gase.
by jthomas 3:16PM
Sounds like it’s time for Gurley to step-up. If Fisher wants to help Goff win his first start, they will need to commit to running the ball and Gurley will need to make something happen. Gurley’s too talented to play this poorly, regardless of how bad his OL is playing. I think the Rams win 20-17.
by Vegas 21 3:18PM
No doubt. They stuck with Gurley and the running game more against the Jets than they had been recently, and Gurley had some good moments in the fourth quarter _ including on what proved to be the game-winning field goal drive.

what about Jim Hart? Any chance he ever makes it to the HOF in Canton? Do you think he is deserving?
by CS Tiger 3:51PM
Don’t see Jim Hart in Canton, although he was very good and I think underrated as an NFL quarterback. They threw a lot more deep balls back then than they do now in the NFL, and Jim Hart could wing it. He was among the league leaders in career passing yards for years after he retired.
